This is the third book in the series. It can be read as a standalone, but I'd suggest reading the first two books to get background on the characters.

This book has a different feel for me than the previous two. But I feel it works very well.

Sam is a very strong character. Unfortunately she doesn't believe that. She has her own way of dealing with things if it all becomes too much for her. But the way in which she deals with things isn't really helping her as much as she may believe.

She has to learn to open up, let someone else in, if she is truly to learn to deal with her problems. Could Mark be the one to do this? Only time will tell. What I can say is that it is going to be one hell of a ride, so I hope you are prepared for it!

Did not disappoint.

I'd love Kristen Mayer to Promise Me that she'll keep writing books for the series!

Sam just moved to Atlanta to work for her best friend's husband, Damien. Sam and Allison are BFFs so it is natural for Sam to want to be close to Allison since they just found out Allison is pregnant, right? Wrong. Sam can't help but be excited for her BFF but the news threw her for a loop. Sam's past comes tearing up through the walls she thought she had built and she is having trouble coping.

Sam's normal coping mechanism is sex. Sam doesn't date people, doesn't do romance, she likes to have a night with no strings attached. Since she just moved to town, she is feeling the stress of not having had sex for a while. Enter Mark, one of the players on Damien's team. Sam and Mark have hooked up twice in the past for a night of hot steamy sex - when I say hot I mean HOT!

Ever since Mark met Sam, he has been interested in more than one night but he'll take Sam any way he can get her. Mark's ultimate goal is to get Sam to try for a real relationship with him. The more Sam hooks up with Mark, the more she starts wanting more. She sees the loving relationship that Allison and Damien have and she starts to want that too - with Mark. Once Sam gets the courage to approach the topic with Mark, of course, he agrees to give it a real go.

Promise Me is more than just the tale of Sam and Mark's romance. Promise Me is really about the promises you make to yourself - whether it be to be true to yourself or keep a secret to protect a friend; the promises you make to your friends to always be there for them; the promises you make to your significant other to always talk about your feelings, what's bothering you, to never leave and love one another. Promise Me is about opening yourself up to love whether it is scary or not, whether you may be hurt or not, and love healing the scars of your past.

Promise Me was very well written. I can't wait to read more from Kristin. I loved the zany cast of characters who deserve to live on in other books! From page one I was engrossed in the book, I laughed a ton, cried a little, and was so sad to see Promise Me end - I wanted it to keep going on. Kudos to Kristin for the great read!

I love love love Sam's story. She is so broken and feels worthless, but Mark helps bring her back to life. I absolutely loved every aspect of it. I also love that I got to see Alli and Damien's little girl. I was literally squealing along with Sam. I can only image what she looks like and how they treat her! Sam's story was shorter but she is also going to have a child with Mark which is fantastic. I loved this series and it is definitely worth it!

This is the last book in the Trust Series. This one can be read as a stand alone if you want since it focuses on Samantha and Mark. Don’t worry, Damien and Allison make lots of appearances!!

Sam and Mark are such a good couple. Mark is so in love with Sam, he will do anything to make sure she is happy. He knows she needs time and slowly gets her to break down all the walls she has built over time. She finally learns that she is worthy of a relationship but when her past comes back to haunt her, can she keep it all?

This was a great ending to the series!! I think I enjoyed this book the best out of all of them.

If you want to read about Damien and Allison’s daughter, Kendall, read Play Me by Kristin Mayer and Kelly Elliot - amazing book!!

This one was really hard for me. Sam is a good best friend but horrible girlfriend, she never let anything go. The past needs to be the past. I don't know. This took me two weeks to read, which is a very long time for me. I loved Mark and his family. Sam's family is extreme in their beliefs, which we seen a little of with Allison. The ending was great, I loved it. I think it was the best part in the whole book.

This was the best book of the series. Sam had so much baggage that it was hard for her to even begin any type of relationship with anyone but all it took was a very strong man to help bring the best out of her. I enjoyed the emotional highs and lows or this book and was very thankful that the lows didn’t last forever. Definitely a must read.

This book is not a continuation of Love Me. Allison and Damien are featured but this is the story of Mark and Sam. Sam has had a troubled few years after an incident, which is disclosed, and Mark falls in love with her. This is their story of redemption and everlasting love.

This book was inspiring as much as it was steamy. It touched a soft spot in my heart and made me smile over and over again. Kristin Mayer did such an amazing job bringing these amazing characters to life and gave this story so much pizazz. I fell in love with it within the first few pages.

Sam has a hidden past. One she doesn’t want to bring to the surface or let anyone know about. Her past has damaged her making her feel tainted and unlovable. But she is anything but that if she just let’s her guard down enough to let anyone past the tough exterior she fronts. She has always used sex as an escape. It has always been her release from stress and it seems to ground her. Although her ways of getting it are a bit unorthodox, she always manages. Again, no one knows that side of her.

From the outside, she is a beautiful, confident and strong woman. Inside she is shattered and damaged. She doesn’t think anyone could love her unconditionally, so she has never put herself out there to be loved that way. But with her new job, she is determined to say goodbye to a part of her past that has always been her comfort in dark moments. Of course, it’s not just her new job that has her wanting more out of life. It’s her best friend who is now expecting, her best friends over protective husband… and it is Mark.

Sam and Mark had their hook up. She gave him what every guy wants right? Sex, no strings… it’s pretty cut and dry. But there was something there from that first moment in Vegas. There was something there that he couldn’t deny. But getting through to Sam would be something else all together.

When Sam moves to her new home for her job, she instantly becomes overwhelmed with baby talk with her bestie, she needs a release and she needs it now. But she doesn’t have the club to fall back on here. Oh… but she remembers Mark. Mark is amazingly hot, he is kind and he will be just right for what she needs. But when he puts up a little battle and is determined to get more out of this than one more amazing moment together, she knows she has to pull out all the stops. Using a take it or leave it approach she is going to get what she needs. But will Mark?

Can Mark find a way to show Sam that her past is just that? Can he help her see that she is strong, beautiful and everything in his eyes? Or will he fall victim to a broken heart because the one woman he can’t seem to let go of is an expert at running away?

Now, let’s add the rest of the characters to the mix… Mark’s got this crazy all in your face kind of family, but no matter how over the top they are, Mark loves them all and keeps nothing from them. But Sam’s family is so polar opposite from them. Sam loves her parents, but she grew up in a place where saving yourself for marriage and not living in sin were expected. Of course, Sam’s family didn’t know about her past either. She always kept them sheltered from so much surrounding that part of her life. She was always afraid that their view of her would change.

The bestie and her husband, the first two books are their story, so they are just along for the ride on this one, but it is so much fun to have them around. Practical jokes, inside jokes and all around best friends make up this book. Throw in an ex-boyfriend who wants Sam back at any cost and an amazing neighborhood baker that Sam quickly forms a tight bond with and you have the mix for the perfect story.

This book touched my heart and made it beat wildly. The steam was off the charts and the story behind Sam and Mark just melted my heart bit by bit. I don’t want to spoil the story by giving away too much but I just adored Sam. Her life wasn’t perfect and hasn’t been for a long time, but the fact that she could see change bit by bit and piece by piece (and cookie by cookie) was inspiring. For anyone that has ever had a dark spot that is hard to over come and has changed who they are, this book just makes watching the change so moving. Sam has a big dark spot that she built walls around to protect herself. But watching those pieces fall away bit by bit just tugged at my emotions.

Kristin Mayer has done a great job making these characters come to life. They captured my heart and showed the greatest gift. The gift of love. This is a must read book and worth every one of the five fabulous stars!

My rating: 4 of 5 ⭐️

For Sam Matthews, seeing her best friend happy and married is a double edged sword. Of course she is thrilled beyond belief her BFF has finally been able to find her slice of bliss, but her own shortcomings in that department stand out painfully in contrast. A single event in her past she has buried so deep has left an indelible stain on her and driven her to find sexual release in meaningless encounters, without any risk of emotional involvement.

When her new position with the football team brings her to North Carolina, she once again bumps into star quarterback Mark Robertson. One of her no-strings-attached one time encounters from a few months back, Mark makes it clear he would not be adverse to a repeat performance, and finds out quickly that when pushed for more than a physical release, Sam shuts down fast. Interested in more than a simple booty-call, Mark simply bides his time.

Mark's straightforward approach and gentle persistence, eventually break down Sam's heavily enforced walls. But even when trying to put her heart into it, Sam finds that her past still won't let her go. If she shares her secrets, will she win his trust, or lose his love?

*****

Third book in the Trust Series, I actually think PROMISE ME could easily be read as a standalone novel. Sure, you'd miss a few references to past events, but the core of the story is all contained in this book.

Less dramatic than the previous two Trust books, in that there was no suspense factor, no unknown entities or hidden agendas anywhere. PROMISE ME was more of a pure romance novel with a very heavy erotic edge and a suggestion of kink in there as well, although we don't really get to experience any. An emotional ride, for sure. In some ways a bit frustrating to read, when it deals with something that could have been dealt with or should have been dealt with, but wasn't due to a misguided sense of guilt. I'm sure, however, there is a lot of truth in that.

The character of Mark is fabulous. One would expect a star QB to be a bit of an arrogant and cocky bastard, but aside from being reasonably self-assured, his crazy-neurotic but loving family seems to have kept him fairly grounded and he is unbelievably thoughtful and patient when it comes to Sam. But, he came, he saw and he will bide his time until he has her conquered!

Sam has spent to much time alone with her 'secret', so that the imagined stain of it has taken on massive proportions in her perception. A stain, and guilt that shouldn't even exist. In every other aspect of her life, she is a bit of a 'ball-buster', not afraid to go head to head in defense of friends or loved ones and relatively confident. Yet it takes endless patience on Sam's behalf to convince her of her worthiness when it comes to matters of the heart.

A well-written series by Kristin Mayer with deliciously dominant men, from the gently persuasive to the ridiculously overbearing, and the capable women who can clearly handle them!

✨From heart-breaking tenderness to panty-melting heat in the blink of an eye!!✨

"All we have is today. Yesterday is the past, and we aren't guaranteed tomorrow, so live your life for today."

I was so, so excited to read this book! I adored the first two books, and although this book wasn't about the same characters, it made me even desperate for it because it was about a character that really intrigued me in the first books! The plot of this book was pretty different to what happens in the other books! I know it was about a different character, but I was kinda expecting it to be a bit similar lol! I adored it though because I was completely engrossed in it while I was reading it! I loved the plot's development and it also had plenty, and I mean plenty, of sexy scenes in it! The plot was different to what I was expecting, but I completely fell in love with it and I had a hard time putting it down! It was written amazingly too and there was always something happening to keep me wanting to read on! The characters were amazing! Sam was the main character and she's introduced in the first book in this series and plays quite a big role in both the first and second book! Sam really intrigued me in the other books in this series because I felt like she was hiding something and she had a story to tell! I'm really happy she got the chance to tell her story! My heart went out to Sam when I found out why she acted the way she did! Nobody should have to go through what she did and I could see how much it had affected her! Sam was an amazing character though and she just blew me away in this book! I just absolutely adored her! Mark was the love interest of Sam and I'm not sure if he was introduced in one of the other books in this series, but I think he was! I just loved Mark! I loved how he was protective, but he sort of knew where to draw the line on how protective he had to be of Sam! I also loved that Mark let his and Sam's relationship progress at her pace! It was definitely the right thing to do after what Sam had been through! Mark was such an interesting character and he was so hot! Damien has some stiff competition lol! I loved that Allison and Damien from the first two books were back in this book! I thought that they were going to be, but I have to be honest and say that they were in this book a lot more than I was expecting them to be, which I adored! Seeing Allison and Damien's relationship develop even further was so cute as well! The ending of this book was so beautiful! I was nearly in tears because of how beautiful it was! It really showed how far Sam had come as a person and also how far her relationship with Mark had come! I'm really sad that this is the last book in the series! I've loved every minute of reading this series and it's been such a wonderful ride! The cover for this book is stunning! I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it! I love how well it suits the other books covers too! Big thank you to Kristin for a copy of Promise Me and to Book Plug Promotions for having me on the Blog Tour!

This is the love story of Sam and Mark. Or how Sam tried so hard to not let it happen!

Sam is the perfect best friend. In the first two books in the series she was able to break down situations honestly, was often the voice of reason for Allison. She and Allison are truly like sisters, having been friends forever. She’s crude, funny, loyal and loves fiercely.

Too funny the way Martin and Sam tag team to drive Damien crazy. Martin is truly like her big brother, there for her no questions asked.

Mark almost is too good to be true. But the flashes into his personality are fantastic. He is just a really good guy, a guy that’s willing to make a real go of the thing developing between him and Sam. He has the patience of a saint- willing to take everything at Sam’s pace, realizes she is so worth it, however fast or wherever they end up.

Let’s not even get started on the crazy physical attraction. They are positively combustible together, and too funny how Allison keeps catching them together!

The past that comes back to life for Sam is almost too much. She has been running from the past, commitment and love for so long- believing herself to be broken, ruined. Was heartbreaking to read about her fear, and her deep down secret longing for the kind of love she wishes she deserved. Works so hard to gain her trust and be there for her. Finding it in herself to forgive and accept the love she is being given.

The scenes with Greg- oh my sad heart.

Edna- Sam’s personal Jiminy Cricket!

Mark’s family was nuts, watching him maintain some control and put Sam first-fantastic. Being sure to reinforce that everything the two of them did or didn’t do was for them and decisions made by them. Sam seeing how the protective nature she had always teased Damien about was what she needed from Mark-priceless.

The last chapter and epilogue were perfect. Equal amounts of laughter and tears and so much love, all with the promise of a life well lived.

This is the 3rd book in the Trust series you should read the others first so you don't miss something or past events.. With that said, this book was great from start to finish. In this book we follow Sam, Allison's best friend through her trying to cope with her past and learning to open up to the possibilities of love.

Sam has moved to NC for her job and is trying to get a grip on the fact that her bff is married and pregnant. She is also trying to get a grip on being a little jealous of her friend. Sam uses guys for her benefit, sex only no strings, kinda like a man..

In comes Mark, you will fall for him just like I did, hook, line and sinker. After a night of sex with him he somehow got under her skin. After a year of bumping into one another at functions for his football team, Sam contacts him when she moves to NC. Only for sex, granted it's hot sex, melt your panties hot sex. He is the man of almost all womens dreams in bed. He wants more and hears it all the time from Sam that it's only sex nothing more. But that's just not working for Mark, he wants more, and he thinks Sam needs and deserves more.

"I'm not asking you to be my damn girlfriend. I heard you the first fifty times when you said you didn't do that. Call it whatever you want, but we will be exclusive. When one of us ends it, it's over. I'm not a booty call for when you're in between men, Sam. I'll keep you satisfied, but you're exclusively be mine to satisfy anytime." ~ Mark

Never thinking she wants or deserves more, no matter what anyone says, but when Mark becomes more than just sex can she handle it? Will her past she's buried so deep she's forgot about it sometimes come back to haunt her? Will Mark be the man to stand by her through it?

I loved all the books in this series but I think this is my favorite.
Mark is the perfect book boyfriend in my book!

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I LOVE this series!! I am pissed it is over, and I am in a bit of denial to say the least! Just when I thought Wales was the greatest man EVER, Mark swoops in and takes a piece of my heart! Oh wait, I am not in this book am I? Okay fine then he swoops in and captures Sam's heart!! Better?

Sam has issues that her best friend Allison doesn't even have a clue about. She knows Sam has some dark secrets, but no idea what they are or why Sam won't let a man get closer than a one night stand. So when Same meets Mark and goes back to him a few times for some late night fun, she knows she has to guard her heart and not get attached.

Mark is the quarterback of Wale's football team. When he meets Sam he knows he wants more than just a physical relationship. However, the slightest move scares her and he has his work cut out for him. They say good things come to those who wait. The question is, how long will Mark wait for Sam, and will Sam lower the walls guarding her heart to let this sexy hunk of a football player in?

Oh Damien how I LOVE you, but Mark swooned my panties off!! He is so strong, patient, understanding and everything else I could ever want in a man! I mean Sam....Everything Sam could want or need in a man!! Sam may be stubborn, but she is not an idiot!! Their story melted my heart! One minute I was swooning over Mark, and the next I was cracking up at Damien with his obsession of Ali's safety! Sam's personality and love for driving Damien nuts is by far my fave dynamic in this book! If you have not read this series yet, then get on it and start with Trust Me!! This is an easy 5 stars right here, and I refuse to believe that this group will not end up on my kindle in some way, shape, or form in the near future!

This book was about forgiving yourself for things that happened in your past that were not in your control and learning to open yourself up to loving again.

Sam Matthews has recently moved to North Carolina for her job. She is trying to cope with the fact that her best friend is married and pregnant. Sam is somewhat jealous that she does not have this too. But really that is no ones fault but her own. She will not let any guys get close to her heart or her. She only has them for sex. No strings attached.

After a night of sex with Mark Robertson, he somehow got to her. After a year of seeing each other at club events for the football team he plays for, she contacts Mark once she moves to North Carolina. She uses him only for sex. And lordy at the hot sex they had with each other. Mark is every woman’s dream man in bed.

Mark would love nothing more than to have a relationship with Sam but he will settle for any little piece of her that Sam will give him. But Mark will do everything that he can to show Sam that she deserves so much more.

One secret from Sam’s past is revealed, Mark is still there for her. He truly loves her. He shows her each and everyday that she is the one for him. Sam is scared to give her heart to him.

As Mark and Sam’s relationship continues to grow, Sam still runs whenever she is feeling over whelmed. But Mark is there to catch her when she comes back.

But can Mark learn to forgive when another secret from Sam’s past is revealed? Can Sam make Mark understand why?

Overall I enjoyed this book. Sam was a great character, her smart mouth comments and sassy attitude added to the book. And Mark, hot sexy fun loving quarterback why yes I want my own Mark.

Let me just start by saying i am in love with Mark, he is such a genuine guy the perfect boyfriend.
Sam is a strong, independent, sassy, tough as nails heroine with a vulnerability that speaks to your heart. Sam uses rough hot no strings sex to cope with a past hurt, that is until Mark works his way under her skin and into her heart.

This is a sweet love story about acceptance and forgiveness.

I loved the first two books in this series they contained suspense, drama, romance and a bit of action. I did enjoy reading this one, but I found myself wishing for something towards the end. I'm not sure if I feel this way as the first two books seemed to be packed and this story seemed to be at a much slower pace, not a bad thing just different.

There was lots of I love you so much, I would do anything to make you happy kinds of dialogue and the story was sweet and romantic, but I kind of wanted something, I don't know what though, maybe something from Marks background.
This story was very much entered on Sam's past present and future, with Mark as a side characters almost.

Something that really got on my last nerve was Sam's parents, Sam lived away from home, conducted her own life, a woman in her twenties and her parents thought she was a virgin, couldn't share a room with her boyfriend, they had to keep a healthy distance from each other, kisses on the cheek ect, what decade are we living in again? WTH? All the back and forth with how Sam and Mark couldn't live together without getting married first.

This has been a wonderful series that really draws you into the characters lives, a cracking piece of writing from Kristin.

5 Hiding Stars

Hiding in plain site. Fading in. Sam (a girl) whom we met in the first two of Ms Mayer's books, doesn't blend in. She and her curves and her big....personality stand out. They are seen. Envied. Even obsessed over. But Sam is hiding. She doesn't let anyone get emotionally close. She has her parents. They are clueless. And her best friend, Allison. Thats about it. No one else gets past her walls.

...remember that whatever you're doing now isn't making you happy. So, what do you have to lose?

Mark is a pro quarterback who is one of the many men that has been drawn in my Sam's charms. He is willing to wait for her to come out in the open.

Can Mark coax Sam out? Can he convince her to trust herself enough to trust him?

Why are you pulling away from me again? I've given you exactly what you wanted.

Hummmm. Perhaps that is the problem. How can Sam know what she wants until she stops hiding from herself. I loved the characters and their crazy families. You want so badly for them not to screw this up. You want it to work. But can Sam learn to let go of the past before Mark just lets go?

Ms Mayer is writing a new series based on the some of the characters in this series. I can't wait. She sucks you in to her world and you want to have the characters over for wine and games. Just not hide and seek.

I was provide a copy of the book by the Author for an honest review.

There are two other books that go along with this book. So I would recommend that you read those first so you don't get lost with some of the events.
You meet Sam in the first two books Trust Me and Love Me. Sam is Allison's best friend and she has a past that she has buried so deep that even she tends to forget about it. She has used sex as a way to ease the pain of the past. But when her best friend and her husband Damien announce their pregnancy and she sees just how happy Allison is even after what has happen to her (which is why you need to read the other books) she starts to feel her control slipping away.
Mark Robertson is the quarter back for the football team the Damien owns and is in awe of Sam. But he can't figure out why she insist on pulling away. He won't let that stop him as he tries to break down the wall Sam has built around herself. Can't these two make it even with all of Sams secrets. Can this Kitty Cat be tamed and will Mark be the one to do it?
I did enjoy this book at times I even found myself hurrying through the pages just to see what happen next. I did however feel like there could have been more. More what?? I don't know but I felt the author could have pit more into Mark and his past.
I will recommend this book!!

Promise Me by Kristin Mayer is book #3 in the Trust Series. The first two books in the series follow Damien and Allison and their crazy love story, book #3 is about Allison's best friend Sam and the football star that heals her heart.

If you have read the first two books in this series then I'm sure if you are anything like me you already adore Sam. She is hilarious, beautiful, supportive and loyal. It had crossed my mind several times that she would end up with Martin, Damien's childhood friend. I am so glad that the author chose to have her character end up with Mark! Mark is so perfect! He is just the man that Sam needed to help her get over a traumatic experience from her past. Book #3 has a different feel to it. It is more a sweet love story about someone overcoming their fears and moving on from the past. The previous books had more suspense and mystery but like the previous books this one is off the charts hot as well. I also enjoyed the few peeks into Mike's POV at the end of the book! What a treat!

Low on drama and angst but with just the right amount to make the story interesting Promise Me was a great ending to this series and I am looking forward to the spin off series!! BRING ON ADAM!!

First this is book 3 in the TRUST series so make sure you read TRUST ME and LOVE ME first (in that order). Promise Me is Sam and Mark's story. OMG, I have to say that it has been nagging at me ever since I finished book to wanting to know what Sam's issues were that made her the way she was. While I had ideas Kristin was still able to throw in there a different reasoning then I would have thought and I love that she surprises me. Mark has got to be one of the hottest, sweetest, patient book boyfriends EVER!!!! I really felt for Sam and her demons and I kept waiting for the ball to drop which it you know they do and it was raw and well when I can get an emotion like that its a 5star. My most favorite parts were of a supporting character who was the sweetest person and had a way of making things right and making you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Nope I am not telling you who she is cause you have to read it and I know you'll get it. At the end of this story she gives you more of her famous literary foreplay on her next book Ripple Effect and that's gonna be another Fabulous story. So now what are you waiting for, READ ON!!

Sam is broken or so she thinks. She feels that she doesn't deserve to find happiness in a relationship. She is holding a secret that she feels she can't share. Determined to start her new job and try to escape her crutches of her past she moves to a new place.
Mark is interested from the first time he lays eyes on her. After their one encounter she is determined it can't happen again. After some excessive pushing she agrees to spending time with no strings. Even though Mark wants more he agrees with the hopes of changing her mind.
When push comes to shove Mark can't take it anymore and it is all or nothing. Will Sam work through her issues and fight for the man she is failing for.
This was a great addition to the series. Well done Kristin.

This is the third book in this series and I loved it. Samantha (Sam)and I could have practically shared the same lives, very similar to mine. This book had me nearly an emotional wreck, it was so gripping emotionally for me, Loved it! Not many books make me feel emotional but this one did therefore granting it 5 stars. Mark is such a patient man he would do anything for Sam, Sam has quite a few issues to work out but with his love and patience it all worked out. Edna, I loved Edna she reminded me of my grandmothers. The wedding was beautiful. The Epilogue had me in ugly tears, beautiful. Can't wait to read the next series, The Effects Series Book one Ripple Effect coming October 2014. Can't wait to read Adam's story.

I seriously can't put into words how much I loved this book. This is the third and last book in the series. I'm so so sad to see this series end. I can honestly say I was afraid to read this book. I was afraid the author would have me in tears... I was right!!

This book is a fantastic emotional rollercoster. Its Sam and Marks story and what a story it is. I loved reading about the characters we met in the other books. Mark has a job on his hands. Will he be able to break down Sams walls & help her to forgive herself and move on from the past.

These three books are absolutely brilliant. The waiting between the books nearly killed me. Now you can go 1-click all three. You won't regret it. I HIGHLY recommend these books.
If I could give this more than five stars I certainly would.

I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this, because I only read it for the Damien/ Alli baby update. In a nutshell Sam (the sassy BFF sidekick) gets her own book with Mark; she’s got her own baggage, and Mark has to slowly wear her down. This one almost feels like the reverse of what we typically see. Sam is the one looking for the sex only/no strings type of thing, and Mark is the one pushing for more. We also get a crazy OM ex rather than the standard OW. (although we get a little OW drama from Missy)

Bottom Line- I didn’t like this one as much; I always found Sam a smidge annoying, and this has less drama with no suspense/mystery. BUT… she is working through some trauma, and I was pulling for her HEA.

I'll admit, as much as I love the first two books, Damien was never my kind of guy. He wasn't.
Mark, on the other hand, is totally it. Yup, I love him.
Sam is more like me than Allison ever was, so I found this story even better than the previous too.
We get to learn about Sam and the past that she believes ruined her.
Mark comes in, offering exactly what she needs, and sweeps in under her radar, knocking her whole world off balance.
He's happy to do anything just to have her, because she's sure she doesn't want more.
Go along for their ride through their ups and downs, and see where they take you.
