In the aftermath of betrayal and disgrace, Elena is a woman scorned yet unbroken. Banished from her pack after the leak of a sex tape and carrying the twins of Alpha Axton, the seeds of revenge flourish within her. A storm of anger and vengeance rages towards the Alpha, who betrayed and against the father who cast her aside. Yet after a Strigoi attack, Elena is forced to accept help from her mate, the man she was running from. As enemies forge alliances and the rejected Alpha seeks to prove his worth, a dance between revenge and redemption begins. Can old wounds heal? Can Elena forgive the man who tried to destroy her?
Jessica Hall is an Australian author who has carved her name into the dark paranormal romance genre with stories that make you question everything you thought you knew about love, power, and redemption. From the brutal world of the Lycan Luna Series to the twisted realms of the Fated Series, her stories don't just entertain. They’ll consume you. Jessica's worlds are where the broken find their power, the hunted become hunters, and love is the most dangerous magic of all. When she's not torturing her characters (and readers) with impossible choices, she's raising five kids and planning the next cliffhanger that will have you throwing your Kindle across the room.
I really liked these two books. There were things that were different from other shifter books. That took me a hot second to get used to, but it was a great story. There were parts that made me laugh, and then there were parts that made me cry. Axton and Elena were fascinating to watch develop. had unexpected twist and turns and some bad things happen so I liked that anticipation. I will definitely read more of her books.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5
The story continues, and it's still a wonderful one! There is equal parts excitement and sadness combined with a healthy curiosity for the minor characters, too. I would love for this series to continue. I would like to read more about Marco and Eli and Michelle. It would be great to know a bit more about Alpha Soyer and Luna Amy's transition to her new lifestyle, but if I don't, I'm comfortable believing all ends well.
The only negative is the consistent errors in the writing. Quite honestly, this book and the first one both need to be edited all over again. A few errors are understandable, but these are consistent and really mess up the flow. The reader is forced to become a translator while inserting apostrophes, adding or taking out words, and even rereading entire passages in order to make them make sense (because many just don't). Most people read to escape work, not add more to their plate. Ijs, a new editor would be great, so those yet to read this story can enjoy the read without the work.
It's still a great story and a worthwhile read (extra work included). 😁
Finally after being put through the wringer Elena and Axton get their happy ever after, but not without some devastating losses. Normal or out of love. It was heartbreaking to lose both Sondra and Louise and the loss Macro went through because let’s be real he deserved so much better than what he got. Goddess knew he does and it was heartbreaking in Sondra’s final moment. He no longer wanted her to suffer, it was supposed to be them. And oh Louise my momma heart knew that she was going to protect all her babies and my momma heart pulverized wife open.
Axton and Lena finally finding their footing as mates and working on their bond. After reading the letter he should have gotten way back when Acton really stepped up as a partner and mate and he kept true to his words that he didn’t want to be her Alpha he wanted to be her Mate and what a mate he turned out to be.
And while I write this as a sobbing mess I have to say I once again devoured this book as fast as I could.
Silver lining: at least she was raped by her mate first so the kids she's carrying are his. Probably. And if not, he can always make another revenge porn tape, destroy her trust and her reputation. Because that's the "romantic" way to get someone to do what you want.
Oh, oops. He already did that in Book 1. Silly! I guess he'll have to find a new way to make her dependent on him.
I read both books and I have to say they were both great. Book one was all the trails that Eliana went through. Book2 is how she turned her life around.. I laughed and cried, then laughed again. I’m not sure how the author thought up some of the situations Eliana and Axston got into, but I could not stop laughing. I’m glad I bought the books, I’ll be reading them again.
Felt like the author skipped over Elena and Axton repairing and actually bonding in their relationship. Went right to them being in love. I will say I enjoyed it though and appreciated that Axton seemed to actually have character development in this book versus the first book were the author would set him up as understanding and growing just to turn around and be an ass again.
Brilliant 2nd book definitely recommend reading. Great twists. Sad at times that I cried . But we'll worth reading Looking forward to reading more off Jessica halls books
The author did not disappoint with, an intriguing plot with unexpected twists and turns. Although it feels like in most of her books the Alpha submits to the female, which is unappealing.
What I like about this book is it a wonderful store it was just based on there life.I think it was good balance .I would recommend to everyone I know. I gave rating I did because it was deserved
I could not put this book down. I felt so many emotions reading it and loved every minute. There was so many twists and turns it was extremely well written.
Awesome read . Fill with twist , adventures , suspense and some heated moments . Well written but as often as per usual the proof reading failed . The grammatical errors especially with the genders sometimes through you off . I would recommend it .
This series kept me captivated and emotionally engaged with a few chapters bringing me to tears. Highly recommend! I look forward to more books by this author.
I really only have one word I wanted to say here but there is a minimum number of words required, all I wanted to say is Lupha 🤣🤣🤣🤣 is my new favorite word
I enjoyed this book more than the first one, was a lot more funnier, and Anxton wasn't such an ass like in the first book. The period scene was hilarious, I couldn't stop laughing.
I enjoyed both books. Hope there are more books to come on other characters in the book(s) as well. I read for enjoyment not to be an editor so therefore I didn’t see “errors”. As always Jessica Hall did not disappoint me.👏👏👏
