A killer cyborg endeavors to get a life . . . of sorts . . . in the second installment of this action-packed LitRPG spin-off of the Faceless Minion series.
Not long ago, NSLICE-00P—short for Non-Standard Leashed-Intelligence Cybernetic Enforcer—performed her job with cold, calculated, merciless obedience. When she was ordered to destroy something, it got seriously destroyed. Unfortunately, that led her to take out her own creator before he created her, casting the cyborg out of her reality and into a world of magic, levels, and skills, with her very own dungeon core and no one to tell her what to do.
As it turned out, fate put NSLICE-00P in the right place at the right she’s become a legit heroine in this new existence. Not that glory matters to her; she has work to do. Like building her own personal army of cyborg creatures both animal and elemental. Because when she finds a new commander, she wants to be sure to show them her best side—which is pretty much the worst for anyone in her way.
But first NSLICE-00P will have to face off against those who want to know exactly where this cute-but-deadly armored knight came from, what she’s really after, and how they might use her lethal gifts for their own, sinister ends . . .
The second volume of the hit LitRPG fantasy series—with more than two million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!
One of the things I like about this series is it’s different. The whole cyborg/half human being isekai is just something new for me. The core of the story interesting enough. One of my issues is being half cyborg and constantly computing and problem solving - You would think it would be easy for the MC to determine that she’s no longer on earth. Yes, in this book the author hints that the MC is becoming aware of this, but the MC is still searching for her commanders. The only thing that is unclear is how rigid the MC’s programming is and if it’s impossible for the MC to change this programming. The MC has showed it’s possible to go against her rules if only by a little. The stats for the MC are crazily long winded. I think it takes the narrator 10-15 mins each time the author reviews the MC character page. I’m not a fan of this. I would normally rate a book like this around 3 stars due to how often the author’s review the MC’s stats, but I know there are those readers who love stats, so I’m going to leave a 4 stars review instead. The story in and of itself is interesting enough that I will most like get the next book.
The main character is so weird, but that's what makes it so interesting. I feel really bad for the poor organic half of Seero.
Anyways, the second book continues on much like the first book. People level up and get more powerful, interesting enemies are defeated or made into friendlies. And more adventure is to be had.
Another action packed ride here. While sometimes overpowered characters aren’t always relatable, I feel this one was, despite her circumstances. Again, also oddly likeable as I stated in my review of the first book. Looking forward to when the third book comes out.
The otter incursion lasted way longer then it should’ve and the status screen takes up to much that just skip it after the first time unless it ‘s to read a new perks info.
Little is needed to say about this book in contrast to the first, it builds organically upon the foundation the first established and follows a train of logic from there, the journey simply continues.
Continues to be great fun. The way the MC takes everything literally and follows through efficiently, could probably be interpreted as autism-spectrum.
