A LDS love story about Andi, a college student, that works at the zoo and Greg, a professional baseball player, who is recovering from a near death experience.
Some good story lines in this book that could have been developed further and the book would have had more depth.
Here's my main complaints which discuss spoilers. I started with this book not knowing it was a sequel to another book. So I kept waiting for something "bad." Then when I got over that feeling it absolutely drove me crazy that Greg and Andi hardly talked to each other through out the whole book! You read their thoughts, but the thoughts are never shared with the other character...if this was real life, these two have a HUGE communication problem which would lead to much stress after marriage. They do not act like best friends that couldn't what to talk to each other. I also hated that they never went on dates. Even though he's a baseball player and has a crazy schedule, a normal in love boy would plan a date for the nights/days he knew he'd be home. I'm guessing there must be a sequel because there are many loose ends.
I really liked the story of Thaddeus and Clytie...that was much more really sounding--they laughed, talked about everything, and to each other.

Listen, I think I’m projecting too much of myself in this book. I love the storyline, love the new characters - Thaddeus!, love the bday gift. SO many thing to love in this book. BUT - I cannot stand the lack of communication between this couple. And I also can’t stand how she is so upset when he goes to play baseball - his job!! He’s doing all the work and she is standing back complaining. I don’t know - it’s a 5 for half the book and a -5 for the other half.
great conclusion to a 3 part series. Andi and Greg,(the famous baseball player) are engaged, but are keeping it on the low key. Andi's missionary with all the requirements she wants in her eternal companion has returned home and is ready to take the next step, but he doesn't know that Andi is engaged and to a non-member like Greg and he is trying to persuade her to choose him. Greg has taken the missionary discussions and is ready for baptism as soon as he is released from the hospital after a life threatening hit in the head. While in the hospital he meets Thadeaus, who has a brain tumor(just like his brother did) with a resulting blindness. He befriends him along with Andi's sister Clytie, who is a dwarf. Clytie immediately likes Thadeaus because he accepts her for her differences. Thadeaus is dying and Andi is worried about Clytie's and Greg's heart after everything plays out and tries to stop their friendships, but then realizes the not knowing thadeaus would be more of a loss. Andi has to work through her worries over Greg's profession and the time he is away from her and makes her really look at their future. Meanwhile Greg tries to put the pieces back of his family, first by giving him mother a home and second by forgiving his abusive, alcoholic father. He finds that he can freely forgive now that he knows of the plan of happiness that Our Father has given and the reason we are all here. Some of Sterlings ploys to get andi to reconsider him involved being a member, being temple worthy (Greg starts a geneology of his family and takes the names to do baptisms for the dead), a returned missionary missionary (greg gave a press conference to address an accusation against him and he ended telling the press about the proclamation to the family and other LDS centered beliefs), and a strong family in the Church(after the baptisms he would have alot of family in the church). It just goes to show that although it is risky to date non members, you could be the example that bring people to the truth.

I love the way Kerry Blair writes. Such a fun book about young woman planning on marrying the returning missionary in her life and then being side-tracked by a professional baseball player. Blair clearly portrays how we young women set ourselves up to not see what is right in front of us. I love the comedy she puts in her writing (through her characters, of course), her sense of humor, her great development of characters and of course the squeaky clean romance. Great story telling - LOVE IT!
Greg just gets better and better as he embraces the gospel fully. I especially enjoyed his enthusiasm for the scriptures. Real heroines are Clytie and Thaddeus who recognize each other's true worth. It was certainly a wake-up call for Andi who really needed one. I really liked Kerry Blair's analogy of the colorful/crazy vest to life.
This was so sad!!! Get out the tissue, my friend, you're not getting through this one dry. I love that Kerry Blair dresses up her romances in so many interesting side plots. The character development was great as well. :)
Second time reading it. Had to see what happens next. I have not yet read the last one in this series, but now that I know it exists, I would really like to finish up this series.
The 2nd and 3rd books in this series were good, but not as good as the first. I wondered if I liked them less because of my mood, or if the story line just wasn't as compelling.
Listen to me, Greg Howland, run very fast in the opposite direction of Andi Reynolds. This was a difficult book for me to read because I disliked Andi and her father so much.
