They grew up together as the closest of friends... and then more. When Sara Nolan and Jaxon Barlow decided to be together, their relationship as a young couple was consumed by a love that was both passionate and beautiful. Sara had it all when it came to a boyfriend: romance, trust, and a protector of all things bad. Jaxon had given her his bleeding heart for the keeping.
The last thing Sara expected was to ruin it all. Falling into a darkness that turned her loving relationship into a chaos of deceit and violence, she walked away from the pain she was inflicting on the man she loved, never seeking to return again.
But when Sara is forced to return to her hometown, she didn't anticipate for Jaxon to be there. Nor does she anticipate the change in him; a change so harsh and callous, he is a stranger with a dangerous agenda of his own. Ignited by her past feelings and the reminder of the guilt she carries in her heart, Sara attempts to avoid Jaxon at all costs… only to find herself trying to pull him out of the same darkness she was once in.

4.5--Full of Surprises--Stars!!

Finally found a book to bring me out of my book slump!!!

This book was good. Really good. It's broken in to two parts.

Part One: The Past & My Mistakes

In Part One we meet Jaxson and Sara. They both lived in the projects. Sara with her alcoholic abusive parents and Jaxson with his loving and caring mom Lucinda. Jaxson saves Sara one day from bully Jade Smith and were inseparable ever since.

Jaxson was 10 and Sara was eight when they met. Part One takes us through their friendship and eventually becoming more. This part was slower paced but it was endearing and sweet watching their friendship grow and seeing them eventually fall in love.

Jaxson was

Growing up he was kind of a trouble maker but he changes and becomes the type of person that Sara could be proud of. He supports her while she goes to school. He loves her unconditionally.

Sara on the other hand was a

She gets inside her own head and lets the advice of Jaxson's mom sabatoge her relationship. She becomes angry and violent and mean.

I really hated Sara during this part of the book and wondered if she could even redeem herself. The things she said and did to Jaxson.

In an effort to save Jaxson she makes a decision that will change the course of their lives. She leaves and never looks back.

Part Two:

Flash forward five years. Sara has returned home after the death of her mother. She's moved on from Jaxson. She's got the help that she needed to be a better person. She hasn't seen or talked to Jaxson in the last five years.

News Flash: He's changed too. And not necessarily for the better. Jaxson is angry. He's mad. He never got over Sara leaving. Jaxson was cruel to Sara.

I actually felt sorry for Sara a little bit. I had to keep reminding myself how big of a bitch she was.

This part was full of

moments. Stuff I didn't see coming at all. It's like we got hints throughout the book I just never put all of the pieces together so as the story went on and things came out it all kind of came together.

The last half was intense.

I still don't know what to think about everything. I still have so many unanswered questions. Curiosity about the direction the next book will go. I just don't know.

I will say I really enjoyed this one. It had everything. It wasn't super smutty but it was definitely entertaining and different. It was a cliffhanger ending but not the type really that made me want to cut someone. And the author was kind enough to provide the first chapter of the next book.

It appears to be going in the direction so R.J. Lewis

Please.

Also...one last thing. Jaxson

The book opens with Jaxon saving Sara from her bully Jade when they were children. Later on we find out that Jaxon had sex with Jade after Sara left him. Did he owe her celibacy? No, but the fact that he was sexually attracted to Jade and slept with her says a lot I think, but I'm in the minority I guess. Most of the reviews I read left that part out when they were going on and on and on about how amazing and loyal Jaxon was and how much he loved Sara.

“I would never do anything to deceive you, especially after tonight”

“Jade Smith,” I interrupted sharply.

His face didn’t register – but then again, I’d learned that Jaxon was a good liar. “What are you on about, Sara?”

“I already gathered in there by the way those guys were placing dibs on me that women get passed around like fucking church plates on Christmas. It’s pretty obvious you’ve had your share of them.” I ignored the conflicted look on his face. “But Jade Smith, Jaxon? The girl that bullied me and made me hate waking up every single morning – her? Are your standards so low that you’d hurt me in the process?”

For the longest time, he didn’t reply. He wouldn’t even meet my eye. I started to regret bringing this up now, especially when it meant so little compared to the real problem – which was what the fuck Jaxon was up to with these kinds of people.

“I don’t know what to say,” he finally said. He looked at me with resignation. The mask was off, and I saw the weariness in his eyes as he heaved a shrug. “I was hurt for the longest time. I won’t lie and say I don’t remember her. I knew what I was doing, and I could have walked away. I didn’t, though. At that point you’d moved on and I was trying to forget you. I’m sorry.”

I have to thank my good friend Sara for recommending this book to me because it was awesome!!!!

Very surprising with nice twists and def worth the read. I'm actually shocked it's a debut novel.

The story is a about a girl called Sara who is bullied at school because she is poor and it shows.
Her parents don't care about her and she is not looked after...
Contestant abuse and fighting in her life...

One day she is being bullied again and Jaxon an older guy who lives close to her comes to her rescue.

From that day the bulling stops and they become best friends.

For years and years even to a point of Jax's mother taking Sara in and feeding and teaching her girly things...

Obviously as they grow older the feelings grow into more...

Happiness...

It's ironic how people are that when things are good they start to doubt it...

That little voice in your head is like a cancer and it destroys things to a point of no return...

At this point I was so angry at Sara!

I could murder her!

When she is faced with her past years later she gets surprised. People have changed and she missed it.

Yet her love for her best friend is still there only his different.

More twists in the story which makes u hooked to this book like a drug addict!

I can just say I cannot wait for book two!

They grew up together inseparable, and of course became lovers, therelove was raw and they loved each other with everything they had.

4.5 WTF just happened stars...

I love going into a book and not really expecting anything and then being totally blown away with how much I like it...I will say starting off this book is a cliffhanger but I knew that and I also knew book two is coming out January 30th. But I must say I NEED BOOK 2 NOW! I want to know what happens!!! The teaser at the end is killing me!

Ok so Sara and Jaxson meet when they are little kids and Sara is being bullied by a redhead named Jade. She is making fun of Sara and calling her ugly so Jaxson takes up for Sara and kinda brings her under his wing of protection. They wind up becoming great friends and Sara is somewhat adopted by Jaxson's mom Lucinda since her parents are pieces of shit.

Jaxson is a bad kid. He steals and does things that Sara doesn't approve of. Finally when they realize there is more there than just a friendship, Jaxson promises to change and be good for Sara. And he does. He had such a great heart.

But then Sara went into megabitch mode. She acts as if Jaxson is holding her back. She turns into the monster she lived with growing up and started taking things out on Jaxson. Once she realized this she leaves.

At this point I am so heartbroken for Jaxson. He loved her sooooo much.

Then we go five years later.... FIVE FREAKING YEARS!!! and no contact...Sara is working as a lawyer's secretary and dating her boss, Daniel. She is fuck buddies with Daniel but that's about it. She is attempting to fill the void in her life of missing Jaxson.

Sara winds up going back to her hometown and guess who she sees!!! JAXSON! And he has a girlfriend!

Jaxson acts disgusted to see her and he should be. She abandoned him. But he's just hurt and taking it out on her. It's been five years and a lot has changed with him.

SPOILERS…

Reading spoilers made my tummy hurt…

Nothing says true love like saving the love-of-your-life from a bully when you’re kids

And then later on sleeping with that same bully as a way of moving on from said love-of-your-life

The betrayal I feel… sigh

Not. For. Me.

"You’re carrying my heart, babe. It’s in your hand; it’s yours. I don’t want it back either. The love of my life was always there, standing in front of me. You. You’re it for me, Tiny. I’m yours. Always will be.”

Wow this book. I absolutely loved Jaxon. He was so endearing, supportive, protective and sweet to Sarah. His childhood friend and later soul mate.

"at the feel of him so close to me, awakening every bit of me as if his touch was an alarm clock to my soul."

Their relationship had so much tribulations, physical abuse, verbal abuse, and so much baggage, and yet Jaxon tried his utmost to fix their life, and still failed miserably.

I loved that they both somehow suffered without one another, but I feel that Jaxon loved her more on a much deeper soul and gut wrenching level. 💔

"There’s no salve to the heart when it comes to forgetting you Sara. You’re unforgettable; unimaginably, unbelievably, inconceivably unforgettable.”

The book ends with many surprises to continue on to book 2, yet I'm not sure if I'll like the direction of having the story turn into a love triangle.

My rating is based solely on this story, book 1, the writing and how absorbed I was with the characters.

Rating 4 stars 🌟

Sara forever belittling Jaxon,

'He exhaled, disappointment clear in his face. “I don’t know why I do this. I unload my heart to you and you just don’t give a fuck. Fine, fine, I’m selfish. Is that what you want to hear? You’re right, Sara. I’m selfish and I lied. I’m sorry.”
“Whatever, Jaxon.”'

(Sara) "You’ve never accomplished shit in your life,” I spat out, raking him up and down with disgust. “I’m busting my ass off so I can become a lawyer, so that I can go places in life. And what are you going to end up doing? Look after cars in some dodgy garage your whole life?”

Her reasons,

'Only that wasn’t enough. The promises I was making to myself were hollow because I knew how out of control my anger had become.
I’m a poison (my input: She is not poisoned she is purposely mad!), and I’ve poisoned my relationship. My love means nothing. It’ll change nothing.'

"I fucked it all up because I’d brainwashed myself into believing I couldn’t depend on someone that might break my heart. I got all messed up, and then I was angry all the time, and violent. I was horrible to him.”

This book was supposed to be a DNF, I forced myself to read (which was mostly skimming) to the end (a cliffhanger). Jax's (the hero) book is ruined for me. Sara (the heroine) is a giant female-dick, I completed this only for her. This is me taking in all the shits she gave Jem. My favourite parts was the hot reunion of Jax and Sara. I won't be continuing furthur. I want to read Remy's story but because of Sara's existence in that book I'm avoiding it. I would be glad if someone who read the next book of the series told me the summary with spoilers.

Right now, I am thinking this one was a 3.5 star read. But I am going to think on it a bit.

Jaxon was Sara's childhood savior, growing up together their relationship gradually moves from friendship to something more. But, the good times don't last - because Sara is insane, and decides to start acting like a psycho. (Sorry, personal opinion. She had me rolling my eyes constantly.) So, she walks away, leaving Jaxon behind. Now, years later Sara finds herself in the company of her greatest regret. But, Jaxon has changed.

I was not crazy about the Sara, at all, but I liked Jaxon a lot. I wish the author had given us a glimpse into his mind. And, this one would greatly benefit from a good editing. For example, I rubbed my eyes, smelling the sweat from my palms against my face. Really?? Gah, I feel overly critical. But, these issues really distracted me from the story. Maybe it's me, though.

Overall, I think it was a good debut novel, with potential. Will I continue this series??? Probably.

What a selfish bitch. He was amazing and she broke him and then expected his sympathy after all was said and done but, the thing is you can't treat someone like they're worthless and then grow angry with them because they don't forgive you at the drop of a hat. And WTF was the deal with his mom, had someone treated my child like that I wouldn't invite them over for dinner. Where's the loyalty?

Had she been a man her behavior would have been unacceptable but that's the beauty of double standards a guy can sleep with who ever he wants and be labeled a stud and a girl can put her hands on a guy and people will look the other way. Abuse is abuse regardless of gender and I refuse to praise it like everyone else chose to when they rated this book so highly...

3.5 Jax Stars

Loved Jax and Sara's friendship turned rommance and I feel that this book should've ended with a a big fat HEA instead of turning into a biker book. I think Remy could have been introduced and then received his own book.

Overall, the story just went weird for me...

Childhood best friends to lovers stories are one of my weaknesses. I’m a total sucker for them, you say the words, I’m reading it. It's a well-used premise and one that I can’t seem to stay away from.

The story: Sara and Jaxon strike up an unlikely friendship as kids, they grow up together in a poor neighborhood, with Sara’s home situation significantly worse than Jaxon’s. As they grow older, their friendship turns into something more and then cue the drama I mean love, no, nevermind I did mean drama.

I’ll give props to this author for attempting a rather risky thing in writing an extremely unlikeable MC. All the drama in this book stems from Sara’s insecurity and irrationality which manifests itself in a form of bitchiness so extreme that it will make you grind your teeth. She is a straight up bitch to Jaxon - there is no question about it, nothing open to interpretation. How you digest her horrible behavior will depend I think on whether you’re willing to give her a Bitch Pass because of what she went through in her childhood.

And by the way, I had no idea this was a motorcycle club book when I started it. I've never read one before, never watched Sons of Anarchy, I don't really know shit about that stuff and it turned out that that part of the plot actually was a bit interesting to me.

The story unfolded in a way that kept me reading, but when all was said and done I can’t say that I really liked this book. (I’m in the camp that isn’t handing out Bitch Passes today I guess.) Add to that the heavy editing issues and I give this a 2.

(And warning - major cliffhanger on this one. I wasn't feeling the 2nd POV we are given at the very end and in the sneak peek of the next book, and there was a set-up for a really stupid sounding love triangle. So I'm thinking no, I'm not really interested enough to read the sequel.)

Presenting my Jaxon
description

Currently free on Amazon! Get that shit now because this book was a crazy experience. Page turner from beginning to end. Not your usual boy meets girl either. You hear about domestic violence but you never ever hear it in books coming from a GIRL, and to boot it's in her POV. Goes to show just how far an idea can take root into someone's head. So realistic, had me biting my lip and stopping myself from lashing out at my own boyfriend for small stuff.

Writing was beautiful too. I felt like I was in her shoes. But I think the real page turner for me was how unpredictable it was. & Jaxon!!!! He melted my panties for sure. The sweetheart turned asshole who still had me wrapped around his finger.

The only thing I'm pissed about is I have to wait for book 2 especially the twist at the twist in the end. But what a way to end the year on this!

^ That's for the author of this book for almost making me lose my shit, causing me to drink before 5pm, and keeping me up all f'ing night reading a book that I want to jump through and go all "A Few Good Men" on as I scream, "you can't handle the truth!"

The Fairytale

So, this book starts like a I'd suspect a rated R fairytale would. Ugly duckling pauper chick, Sara, is saved and Bff'd by the badboy hunky prince, Jaxon, & his mom with a pension for TMI toward kids.

Readers are given a fairly long detailing of their childhood struggles and how their relationship is built on what seems to be an unshakable foundation of trust, love, and no bullshit applies.

The childhood to adult portion seems a little much when you first start reading, but trust me when I say you will need every moment of this foundation in the back of your mind as Pandora's box of fuckedupedness is unleashed on you later!

As they approach a turning point, that is potential separation, the most tender, sweet, and swoon-worthy romance develops. Jaxon is literally the guy that all mothers wish for their daughters to find in life. Prince Charming ain't got shit on this guy, okay!?!

He changes his life for her and they begin a life together that is nothing short of fairytale.

The Shit Must Hit The Fan

description

Sara's downward spiral into anger, insecurity, violence, and depression was mf'ing heartbreaking.

I don't recall ever being so angry at a book character. I wanted to hate her. I wanted her to be irredeemable. But, her inner guilt & clear psychological distress kept her just above the line of me writing her off. Her actions & self-realizations over the five years after the breakup made me equally hurt for her as I did Jaxon.

It's amazing that the author was able to so poignantly convey Jaxon's hurt & heartbreak without giving him a POV. Quite astounding writing. Truly, 5 star writing.

Maybe, just maybe?

Five years passes before our characters are in the same air space again.

Second chances or bridges burned?

Has her betrayal and abandonment irreversibly changed him into a man only capable of hating her?

Are current relationships that offer contentment safer than rekindling such explosively emotional love?

Is she really changed, or will she revert back to anger and abuse to counter his hate?

But just when you think maybe, just maybe, these two can salvage a great love & get to cleaning up the splattered shit on the walls....

Someone Has To Go Throw Piss In The Fan

Let me just say - gangs, more gangs, deception, murder, kidnapping, & deep family history secrets. And, those are just a few of the pissers thrown at Sara and Jaxon.

When faced with two paths, one that would betray Jaxon and one that might just keep herself safe, which will she choose?

Overall

F'ing brilliantly written. The angst was purposeful. The love believable. Torturous suspense of what the hell is going to happen. Five stars!

If the sequel wasn't already published, I'd hunt this author down and slap her senseless.

As you can see from my previous post, I was not a big fan of Sara, soooooo

The story starts with a malnourished 8 year old little girl who is being bullied; in steps our 10 year old hero Jaxon and saves princess Sara...fast forwarding..they grow up together, and then one night it all changes and BAM! there are a couple.. Sara gets a scholarship and Jaxon drops his thieving ways to go take care of Sara (meaning, all the bish has to do is study and go to school) everything else Jaxon takes care of...theeeeeeeeeeeeeeen...

we start seeing changes in Sara, she becomes evil, and literally breaks Jaxon's heart.

Now, me personally I'm used to the boy breaking the girls heart, never the other way around in such a crucial, heart breaking way! I hated her, fudgin' HATED her!

So 5 years later, Sara is a college drop out, doing the nasty with her boss and she is forced to return home..runs into Jaxon, and he is being a total prick...but she sooooo friggin deserved it so I was cheering him on! Go Jaxxon!

And the rest? Well I guess you will have to read it!
Is it worth it? Total-fudgin-yyyy!

Hmm.. intense, overly dramatic, at times childish and immature but I liked Sara and Jaxon nonetheless.

I think it's the writing..?
It's decent even with some overwrought dialogue from our hero but I've read me quite a few New Adult books by now so I kind of prepared for those. I do believe it's the norm now - to have your hero not only being all lovey-dovey but actually says these embassasing sh*t.

I love when your man is all crazy in love with you and tells you so, of course I love it! But isn't there some sort 'balance' somewhere? Like really Jaxon seemed to be professing his eternal love for her all.the.time.

There has been books that have taken me an emotional rollercoaster.. This is one of those books. This was not just amazing. It was outstanding. This story had me from the start.. Jaxson was scrumptious, irresistible, sex on a freaking stick, everything rolled in one. I absolutely love him.. Ladies better back off because he is MINE. Yes ALL MINE. I’m only sharing him for a bit, because everyone needs to read about Jaxson Barlow

“Touch me too, Sara. Don’t be scared. “The ache in his voice had me shivering all over again. “Relax and you’ll enjoy it, but you have to do what you want, and take what you need so we both get pleasure from this. Don’t be embarrassed.”

Jaxson, I just want more of this man. This man not only changed but he fully gave himself to someone. He loved hard, deep, and complete. Everything happens for a reason and this is what happed to these two. They were together from childhood. I loved the beginning, we learn about both of their childhoods. Jaxson is the white knight coming to help Sara.. even as kids it was love at first sight for Jaxson. He wanted to protect and stand up for Sara. Their initial meeting had me giggling.. they were so freaking cute and sad together.

“Watching me watch him, he smirked and remarked, “You do a lot of staring.”

So, this story is not just about a hot love story. This story is about loss, hope, real life, family, about becoming who you are meant to be. I can honestly say this was a total MIND FUCK.

Sara, I will say I hated her for a while I even called her the C word. She made me mad, she made me cry, she made want fucking punch someone in the face. She stirred so many freaking emotions I can’t even say right now. But, one of those things that I did realized after reading this book was… women analyze everything. We overthink everything; our minds play an exceptional role in this. Our mind can be our worst enemy. This is exactly what happened to Sara.

The second part was hard and shocking and hard for me… because my heart, my mind was hurting for Jaxson. Then RJ Lewis just mind fucks me without any warnings… the story went from nail biting to freaking full blown mind explosion. Not only did I have to freaking take a breather, but I actually pinched myself to get my feelings in order. This book made my year ending a bang and also made 2014 a bang to start off with…

“He tasted so fucking good.

“Slow down,” I repeated in his mouth.

“Fuck no,” he groaned.

“You’re hurting me.”

“Good.” Why did I find that so fucking hot? I tugged hard on his wet hair like he was tugging mine. Wanting him to feel what he was doing to me.”

I tend to get too attached to books and that’s exactly what I did with Ignite. Not only did this book made want to pull my hair out but it also made me aware of self-change, of selfless love, of amazing people that help you along the way. Friendship and family are two huge keys in this story. I seriously can’t get enough of Jaxson Barlow. For those of you who have read this I’m 100% with Jaxson on his decisions and his actions. For those of you who will read this.. Keep in mind people change and sometimes it takes hardship to become the person you are meant to be. The extent of love is deep and emotional and sometimes it takes change and hardship to appreciate it.

After reading my review.. I hope you choose to read this book.

RJ Lewis I love you, your writing, and the emotional rollercoaster you took me to. I even love that you totally blindside me with that ending. OUTSTANDING.

I got this book free and the blurb caught my attention. Well, what can I say ....I read 65% of the book in one sitting and that's for someone who has such a short attention span. I very reluctantly put the book down because I am a right 'silly cow' if I don't get enough sleep!!

As for the book, the author writing style is easy to read and the story just flows. Its like a friend telling you their life story. This is not a sweet, airy fairy romance book but a romance book you can relate to. A story of a heroine who grows up in a broken, traumatic home and a hero who is there for her. Well, what can go wrong? As the saying goes, the course of true love never did run smooth!!

I highly recommend this book! Can't wait to read more from this author.

4.25 (Childhood Friends Falling In Love) Stars

Ignite is a CRAZY ANGST Relationship book. To my surprise, I really liked it!

Ignite is about two childhood friends, Sarah and Jaxon. First off, they have the CUTEST meet-cute! I really loved it. Second off, THERE ARE NO FLASHBACKS!!!!! Yes, it’s their story from 8 years old to present and not once there was a flashback, meaning, Lewis wrote in chronological order.

I LOVE IT!

Sara is from a broken home and it has made her shy and timid. Jaxon is the bad boy in the block and who makes his money by stealing. Jaxon saves Sara from being bullied and from there they forge a friendship (more on Sara side). The beginning part is Sara and Jaxon’s childhood to college years. It’s SUPER CUTE.

Eventually both grow up and face true relationship problems.

At one point I was really frustrated with Sara because I didn’t understand why her personality changed so quickly, but then I sort of got it and I understood why Lewis went there. You just have to get through her crazy moment.

What made me like Ignite so much is just how intense the story and relationship is. I love intense relationships. I love the can-not-breath-without-each-other love. Jaxon is 100% alpha male and you will love him from start to finish, even when he’s REALLY REALLY REALLY mean and believe me, he can get really mean.

Towards the climatic ending Ignite shifts in plot and it kind of opens it to the next book Burn. There is an open cliffy so watch out.

If you like crazy love stories that are SUPER intense and make your heart pump, then Ignite is for you!

Jaxon and Sara grew up together, best friends turn lovers. But doubts in Sara's mind start affecting their relationship.

Jaxon was trying so hard and so patient with Sara. There was never any doubts his feelings for her. Sara though, I felt by the end of part 1 she was really starting to get on my nerves. However, she did get better.

This was quite fast moving, I was gripped and needed to know what happens next. A first love/second chance romance with good angst and tension. I really enjoyed this.

I literally couldn't put this book down from the moment I started reading.

Sara and Jaxon grow up together after Jaxon saves her from the bullies and his mum takes pity on the poor neglected girl her son has befriended. We are taken on a journey right up until adulthood and we learn that even the most perfect relationships can turn bad in the blink of an eye.

Sara has serious issues and my heart broke for both of them in their struggles but will love conquer all?

Shit hits the fan at the end so I am looking forward to book 2.

OMG!! To think I almost passed this book up because of the cover! Wow this is one of those rare finds from amazons freebies. It starts off with Sara being bullied at school and Jaxon stands up for her then we get to see their friendship unfold and years later their love for each other grow. Sara after years of being neglected by her parents makes some very wrong decisions in their relationship and after 5 long years apart they are brought back together again and from them on out the twists just don't stop coming! the last 3/4 of the book is just wow! very different from what I expected from this story but I am so glad that it wasn't the same old love story we keep getting nowadays. Seriously everyone should give this book a try and yeah in the beginning it seems like the same old story but don't stop reading and EVERYTHING is so important don't skim any of it!! The end I screamed in frustration it is a cliffhanger!
Oh yeah and it is not so obvious till the end but this is somewhat a BIKER book hopefully we will get a bit more on that part in the next book.

I liked this! There were a few twists and surprises throughout. At 30% in I wasn't expecting that with Sara. It was a complete wtf moment that had me really disliking her, and I never felt quite the same about her for the rest of the book. I wasn't expecting the last part with Jax either. Remy threw a little wrench in at the end as well. I'm not usually a fan of triangles, but this little triangle may be the exception. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel!

My mind is in chaos and I'm thinking WHAAAAAAAAAT 5 GOLD stars

Okay first of can you screaaaam CLIFFHANGER for me??? YEP! Did I love it? Uh, lemme think about it. YES!!! OH EM GEE!!! Saying I loved it would be an understatement. I floved it like HAAARD.

So my bestie gal pal, Sunshine recommended and gifted this awesomestic book to read last Wednesday. So I promised her I would finish it and I AM SOOO GLAD I DID.

I knew from reading the blurb that this would be a hard read. I knew this would take my emotions on a roller-coaster ride and I was correct. So this a story about a young girl who comes from a broken family and she meets a boy who saves her early on. And the rest they say is history. I wished it was that simple. I loved the part about Jaxon saving Sara early on and how their friendship blossomed and then how it changed to something more. I absofreakinglutely loved Jaxon Barlow, his love and passion for Sara was to swoon and drool for. He was the ultimate boy for any girl. He is my top book boyfriend. I was happy for my boy and was reading along happily when WHAM!!! I was hit by a 2 by 4. Chaos ensued and I was left gasping. I HATED Sara at that point with a capital H and I couldn't understand why she was doing all of this. It was heartbreaking and gut-wrenching to watch Jaxon go through the pain with all the things Sara was dishing out. So that was intermission.

Fast forward to when Sara comes back home. We know what she's been up to since the break-up, I felt sorry for her. Things made sense, sort of. I liked her friend Lexi, she was funny and straight, every girl needs a girlfriend like that who would tell you like it is, regardless. And then there was Daniel. And then she got the call and she came back and Jaxon was how he was, my heart literally cracked under Jax's gaze. Life was totally different for Jax, and when I learned what he had to go through after the break, I just had to sit for a bit, take it all in and weeeeeeeep for that sweeeet man. Why is life so hard on the people who have the biggest and greatest of hearts and souls? The turning point in Sara's life, the conversation that triggered all this. I know why that conversation happened but she totally forgot who Jaxon was. That's what broke my heart and is at the very moment making my eyes teary. Life is simple and we complicate it. Life's trials jade us sooo much that we forget.

So moving to the story, Jaxon had gone through so much that he had changed even his mom admitted it to Sara when she came back. And I honestly didn't know how Jax was going to react but I didn't have a good feeling. Was I wrong?? Ummm, not gonna spill, you have to read to find out. And then when Sara was feeling all these emotions crashing into her she finds out something earth-shattering. With all this going on and the incident at the motel, Sara was most definitely not feeling very strong. Sara is back home and stumbled into Jax's path and things are going crazy. At least that's how it all feels. To add more spice into the story at the end we meet a long ago character who enters the scene to again: 1. to muddy the already murky waters; 2. to save Sara. The ending left me screaaming and seriously at that point all I had going inside my head was WHAAAAAAAT SERIOUSLY? Before I read The End I only had one word WTF!!!
