Members of the popular musical group discuss their childhoods, the group's formation, performing, touring, making records, and their views on personal issues
Grace Catalano is well known for her biographies of film stars with two of her titles, New Kids on the Block and New Kids on the Block Scrapbook both having appeared on the New York Times bestseller lists. She is the author of Leonardo DiCaprio: Modern-day Romeo, which is already available in Bantam paperback. She lives in USA.
This was fun reading about what the New Kids experienced and thought back in 1990! Seeing how their lives have turned out now, and reading about how they hoped or perceived their lives might go was so fun to see: most of them had a good idea about where their lives were going and they ended up pursuing their goals. A few things turned out differently, but for the most part, they knew what they wanted to do. And they did it! Some things were just fun to note the difference between being a teen and being an adult, and how that played out in the reality of life for themselves. Of course, I got to know more about each individual member of NKOTB, their story about how they joined the group, what they liked, how they lived, and just how down to earth these boys truly were/are. There are so many pictures in the book which were fun to see too. But I think my favorite part about reading this book was the lingo! They spoke the same way we did back in the late 80's-early 90's, and that was fun to read again! Which also made it a very easy to read book.
I love this book as I love hearing all the stories of the five guys growing up before the band, what it is like being in the band and what at the time their were hoping for the future. I also loved seeing all of the pictures.
At least at the time when I read it, back in my middle-school days, I LOVED It. I liked that the guys wrote a lot of it and all the photos included. Reading their current biography, I realize that this one was a bit of the PG version.
