The saga of the McIntyre family continues as a woman explores her mysterious and marvelous heritage in this dual-timeline novella set on historic Mackinac Island.
1879 - Amelia McIntyre, a young woman of mixed heritage who has an Odawa-French-British mother and an Irish father, becomes enthralled with the elegant Victorian-era cottages being built on their island by big-city moguls during this glittering Gilded Age. Intent on landing a rich husband, Amelia develops an unwavering commitment to living the high life on her own terms.
2024 - Wanda, a McIntyre descendant who lives on the island, continues to explore her heritage and is stunned to discover that her ancestor Amelia became an elite belle of the ball during the Gilded Age. So unlike their forebears who hailed from humble beginnings, Amelia was anything but humble. As Wanda uncovers more about the young woman, she develops deep admiration for her ancestor's ambitious nature and is highly entertained by the shenanigans Amelia employed in pursuit of creating the life she craved. Amelia was a plucky woman whose strength and determination set a shining - and unconventional - example for her descendants.
Join Amelia and Wanda for this spirited romantic adventure set on a beautiful island during Christmastime, a perfect time to explore how the past can make a difference in our lives forevermore.

The present and past meet on Mackinac as a woman searches for more information about her great-grandfather and his connection to the island.
Last year we visited Mackinac and I discovered this series. The island is such a unique place to visit. You must take a ferry to visit and no motorized vehicles are allowed. There are horses everywhere!
If you are seeing my review and haven't heard of this series before, you will have the unique opportunity to binge all three novellas. They are all connected with crossover characters and the one-of-a-kind setting. In this one, three women from 2024 find a still in a cottage on the East bluff. Will they be able to solve the mystery? It will take a rewind back to 1918 and the end of WW I to get some answers.
