Fairy Herbs for Fairy Magic, the first book to cater exclusively to fairy-related herbalism, gathers in one volume more than 40 fairy-specific herbs, and details their uses in fairy magic. Introducing its reader to fairies, their mercurial nature and relationship to people, this book gives insights into the roles and attributes of fairy witches and seers - from olden times to the present day - and also into the role of fairy familiars. As a practical resource, Fairy Herbs for Fairy Magic is complete with ideas for rituals, charms, and spells.
Those of you who know me, know I love the fae. I've always admired them, and studied lore over the years, but I can't say I've really worked with them beyond leaving offerings. This book was an excellent guide to not only working with the fae, but the things you can find and harvest in nature that will help you to do so. It's clear that Simina knows what she's talking about, and the book has been well researched (there are also a bunch of additional resources in the back of the book as well, should you wish to dive even deeper). I thought I knew all the trees/herbs/flowers that are associated with the fair folk, but I ended up learning new ones, and I'll be going back and taking more notes to add to my grimoire. I plan on looking into the recommended reading and resources included, so I can broaden my knowledge even further. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to start down the fairy path.
What a lovely book! If you're searching for just an "encyclopedia list" of herbs, this is not your book. In here, you will find the herbs attached to the Fae but each herb is explained for you to know its story and its history, so you know all the energy contained on it when (if) you'll use it. A good book, very necessary if you want to connect to the fae.
Everything related to herbs interests me and this informative book make me learn something new about herbs. I can be a bit skeptic at times but I found it intriguing Highly recommended. Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine
