We've always needed a Savior. From the earliest promises in Genesis to the hope of restoration carried by those returning from exile in Babylon, the people of the Old Testament ached for restoration and rescue. In this season leading up to Christmas Day, we will trace the biblical anticipation of the One who met every expectation and fulfilled every promise: Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of God. Traditional Advent prayers will aid us on our journey, reflecting our heart's cry for Jesus alone to fill our deepest need. Nestled throughout the book are seasonal merriments and thoughtful extras to help you deepen your engagement during Advent: from holiday hosting tips, recipes, and hymns to reflection prompts and prayers. Join us during this season of invitation and hope, as we prepare our hearts to celebrate the first coming of our Savior while expressing our longing and eagerness for His return.
She Reads Truth is a worldwide community of women who read God's Word together every day. Founded in 2012, She Reads Truth invites women of all ages to engage Scripture through curated daily reading plans, as well as online conversation led by a vibrant community of contributing writers. This community of “Women in the Word of God every day” represents a long list of cities and countries, a variety of backgrounds and traditions, and countless real-life stories. But there is a commonality that binds us: we believe God's Word is Truth. So we read. Every day we read a new passage together—working our way through books of the Bible, topics that matter, and seasons of the Church calendar. We engage with God's Word and with each other. And we keep coming back, on the hard days and the good days, because God and His Word never change, regardless of our circumstances.
I have throughly enjoyed this wonderful study of the Advent season which is about anticipating the birth of the One who meets every need. He is God with us, the only one worthy of our worship! O COME LET US ADORE HIM!!
As I reflect on the Advent season and this past year, I am extremely grateful and thankful for God's unconditional love and faithfulness in my life. In 2024, 1 pray for God's blessing in my life and that my faith will continue to grow as I rely completely on Him.
"And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20
The content here wasn’t bad at all; this just isn’t my style for an advent devo. There was a lot of beauty and care taken to get a certain aesthetic & I just kept thinking about all the wasted space on the pages. Just not for me! To each his/her own. :)
These studies bring my heart so much gladness and peace every advent season. I’m so thankful to have a book to help me focus my heart on God’s Word and His goodness during one the busiest times of the year.
She Reads Truth’s advent studies are always one of my favorite parts about the Christmas season. I love how thoughtfully they select each day’s Scripture passages to focus the reader’s mind and heart on the character of Jesus. The emphasis on Scripture alone (rather than someone else’s words) helps to keep my devotional time centered on God’s Word. I’m consistently reminded of not only of the meaning of Christmas, but also of the hope we have for the future as we look forward to Christ’s second coming.
I LOVED this study and definitely recommend it if you are considering to pick an Advent study during this season :) The She Reads Truth team is so intentional in the way that they create this book: from the colors and the theme to the scriptures and passages and prayers chosen to study along the way of the Christmas season, this study really wove into my every day how Jesus truly is the reason for the season!
I’ve done these for Advent the last 3 years! My husband did the guys version with me too. I do love the intention behind these devos and the space to focus on the true meaning of the holiday season. This year’s devotional just wasn’t our jam like they usually are. Mainly because the reflection questions were repetitive and surface level.
This was not my favorite Bible study I have done. It was my first Advent and from what I have heard it is set up differently than usual Bible studies. I found the layout to be repetitive. I like a study with more instruction and. This one had a lot of introspection.
The O Antiphons were a particularly different and meaningful addition to my Advent this year. The study really drew me deeper than ever before, and I was grateful to meet weekly with a group of women who were also reading through it.
