After he rejected their mating bond, Brigid is resigned to working with Tyr as no more than a colleague. But when events conspire to throw them together in order to select an heir to the Court of Shadow, the pair are faced with the difficulty of their ignored bond and the reality that the Pull between them is stronger than ever.
To Sway a Demon Heart is an epilogue novella in the King and Coven series following the second chance romance between Brigid and Tyr begun in book 3. This book should be read after To Wear a Demon Crown in the series.
Madeleine Eliot loves to read and write spicy romantasy with all of the best tropes. Dubbed the “Queen of Cozy” by her readers, Madeleine enjoys writing romantasy that is all vibes and spice, with a dash of adventure and world-building. She is always working on her next book, which is probably another spicy romantasy. Follow her adventures and latest works at instagram.com/madeleineeliotwrites
Honestly, this was one of if not my favorite novella madeleine’s done. It ties up some loose ends from the ending of the King and Coven series, but also still brings in new excitement with trials, betrayals, slow burn romance.
Devoured this little side story in a day. Tyr is DADDY, there’s trials, angst, pining and tension. And of course sweetness and heart… amazingly all crammed into a short novella!
I have found one of my new favorite Madeleine Eliot books! The writing in it spoke to me and I loved how the Shadow Court used an all-out, three-day pretty much to-the-death competition to decide their next Daemon Lord. Its the perfect wrap up to the series and also connects some things with Carnon and his back story. But my absolute FAVORITE part is Brigid and Tyr's relationship. Who would have guessed that Tyr could have been so likable when we were first introduced in To Break a Demon Curse? He's the hot emo boi in this book who thinks he's unworthy of Brigid's bright, neverending amazingness. It's just a beautiful second-chance love story! Honestly, I'll eat up anything Madeleine writes. Please keep them coming forever! ***This book is novella with characters from the King and Coven series. It takes place after the last book in the series so definitely check that out*****
Read this book if you love: *Second chance romance *demon trials *jealous/possessive MMC *angsty/sunshine *two males vying for FMC's attention *Cozy Queen always delivers us our HEA
This was the perfect novella read, I loved jumping back into the world that housed the Kingdom and Coven series.
Brigid and Tyr are both great characters that we got to meet in the main series but didn’t really get much time with so I was so glad to see they were getting their own novella.
I feel for Brigid in this novella as Tyr is stubborn as hell when it comes to his feelings and resisting the pull. They are very much hot and cold when it comes to their interactions during the book and the banter frankly is excellent.
I loved getting to see other characters from the main series pop up again and have a part in this book as well as it really reinforces the found family vibes.
The spice was excellent but no mistake this is a slow burn and you have to wait for the good stuff.
Ah, the story you'll be curious to learn once you've read TWADC, and lemme tell you, it's fantastic.
The Queen of Cozy does it again with a sweet little romance that packs quite a lot. There's forced proximity, there's a tournament of champions, there are males being possessive males (aka a love triangle), and there sweet and delightful Brigid at the center of it all. Oh, plus a villain you'll never guess.
I was so hoping to get Tyr and Brigid’s story after To wear a demon crown, and this novella did them justice! I loved how Brigid kept reassuring Tyr that he was good and worthy of her love. And Tyr was so stubborn but he couldn’t keep fighting how he felt about Brigid. He’s a total alpha who pushes her away because he feels line she deserves better than him and his bloody past. But deep down Tyr is really a good man who just wants to lead and protect his people. Brigid comes across as light and innocent, but she’s not all sunshine and rainbows. I love that she lets Tyr see that side of her. Madeleine did an excellent job of giving us their love story, while also weaving in a great story and wrapping up a loose end from book 3. This was a wonderful, heartfelt novella giving us an overall conclusion of the King and Coven series!
After finishing To Wear A Demon Crown one thing I wanted so badly was to explore Tyr’s and Brigid’s story. This novella gave me EVERYTHING I wanted and needed from them. This perfectly short and sharp novella takes place after TWADC and is written from Brigid’s POV. Despite being short, we still have a slow burn feel and action with a plot twist to keep us entertained. The push and pull, the warring of heart and mind between Brigid and Tyr had me so wrapped up in them, cheering them on- I felt like a soccer mum on the sides C’MON you can do it! 😂. I really enjoyed the coming together of two such opposing personalities and loved the whole light and darkness spin. Overall, this was exactly what I wanted in a novella from the King & Coven series, but also now I’m sad because I’ve remembered that this series is now complete and I’m not ready to say good-bye. Time for a re-read?
To Sway a Demon Heart by @madeleineeliotwrites is an intense and sexy epilogue novella in the King and Coven series following the second chance romance between Brigid and Tyr begun in book 3. This book should be read after To Wear a Demon Crown in the series. ❤️🔥
Blurb: After he rejected their mating bond, Brigid is resigned to working with Tyr as no more than a colleague. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I absolutely adored this novella!!! From the moment I met Brigid and Tyr in the King and Coven series, I fell in love with both of them. They are the epitome of light and dark, plus they complement each other very well! Learning about Tyr’s backstory was heartbreaking and I sympathized with his hesitance to openly love Brigid. Brigid is wonderful as well, with her willingness to forgive Tyr and embrace the mating bond. The plot was fantastic and intriguing at the same time. Plus, the cameos were amazing and I smiled during those scenes. Overall, To Sway a Demon Heart is a beautiful love story that perfectly concludes the King and Coven Series!!! 🥰☀️🩸
OMG... Tyr just needed someone to wholly love him. Brigid did everything she could to make Tyr see that he is a good male. Tyr thought he was undeserving of Brigid's love and did everything he could to push her away. His stubbornness lost big time in that regard, and my oh my when he finally let the mating bond take hold. However, Brigid wasn't just going to let him sweep back in, she made him proclaim exactly how he is feeling, which is how it should be. Both Tyr and Brigid were fiercely protective of the other, and the "who did this to you" was on fire in this novella.
I am so not ready for the King and Coven series to end, but this was a beautiful addition.
This was such a perfect little novella, I absolutely devoured. We got to become familiar with Brigid and Tyr in the King & Coven series and I just loved them both already. So getting a little more of this world with their story was just the cherry on top! I love how this short story was still able to build upon the world we already knew, still included some trials and conflicts to overcome, and also mixed with some tension and spice. Brigid & Tyr are perfect together! And I’m grateful that we still got some appearances from Carbon and Elara ♥️
Madeleine Eliot is Queen. I will die on this hill!
Tyr and Brigid’s story was one of my most anticipated love stories after the events of TWADC, and I was not disappointed!🤭
I loved every second of this novella and loved to see how Tyr and Brigid’s relationship developed throughout it.❤️ We also get to see some of Elara and Carnon and there is a special bonus chapter featuring just them!🤭
I definitely recommend it if you enjoyed the King & Coven series. It’s a quick read but definitely one of my favourite novellas!❤️
I loved that this picked up right where the trilogy ended, especially with the search for the new Lord of the Shadows. Seeing the friendship between Brigid and Elara develop was a highlight, and Brigid felt especially well written since she comes across as pure sunshine at first but ends up being far more layered. Overall it was a really satisfying read and I loved getting happy endings all around.
A cute novella of Brigid and Tyr’s mating; with a splash of spice. Tyr initially rejected the Pull, leaving Brigid heartbroken. Then with some assistance from the Queen, they’re assigned to work together. Things change and secrets are discovered. You’re gonna wanna read it to find out!
This is one of my favorites in the king and coven series crazy because I didn't like most of the series or the other novella but this worked. Okay it could have been longer I would have like to see how it worked out running the two kingdoms and with her family but that might have made it drag on in the end.
It was short, but with a very satisfying ending. Although I'd love to see Tyr+Brigid's story expanded(just because I love their story). This was definitely slow-burn, with a dash of trials, angst, and betrayals. Loved It!
Such a cozy, spicy, quick read. I was in the need of some quick spicy and this did the trick! I love grumpy sunshine, I only wish this was longer! I would have LOVED a full novel on these two characters! Brigid is the perfect sunshine and Tyr was a glorious grumpy.
I loved Brigid and Tyrn’s story so dang much! It was NEEDED after that ending to To Wear a Demon Crown, and I couldn’t be more happy about how it turned out! Tyrn’s vulnerability really made this book, and I loved how it gave closure to the series! Highly recommend!
I read every book and every Novella.. Loved having Carnon in this (especially that last extra chapter) LOVE HIM.. super cute story with action like all the others!
It had so much potential, I was eager to read their story even though it didn't disappoint I feel it could have been so much better and spicier as well as more tension.
Loved Bridgett and Tyr’s sorry! What a great way to end this series! I thought this was a very creative way to figure out the new leader of Shadow as well!
