I really enjoyed this book because it had a lot of great rhyming poems and they were written really well. I think these poetry books would be good to anyone and it is related to the books of history. I think this book was super fun and it was a great book to read for our 40 book challenge that we're doing this year. Will you enjoy these poems? Read this book to find out.
If you had to put together a list of the 100 most well known English poems then a lot of the poems in this book would make the list. I thought the section of biographical notes in the back was especially well done. So if that's what you're looking for then 4 stars, solid little anthology.
This anthology contains selections from many different historical eras so if you're primarily looking for newer or more undiscovered work then this isn't the anthology for you. And this definitely isn't "poetry out loud" in the vein of open mic slam poetry or anything like that. This book has poets like William Blake, Shakespeare, Emily Dickinson, etc.

This book is about many people’s lives or things and people in their lives. This book is full of poems from different people’s points of view on life. Some of them are happy, while others are sad. Some of them are serious and to the point, and others are meant to be funny. Eventually, all of the poems come back together to have a similar message. There are many things I liked and disliked about the book. I liked it because many of the poems touched close to the heart, or I could relate to them. Another reason I liked it is because the majority of them had a powerful meaning. Except, I also disliked it, because some of the poems were long and didn’t seem like poems. Also because some of the poems made absolutely ZERO sense. I would recommend this book to people who want a quick-ish read, or people who like poetry. In conclusion, this poetry book is about people’s points of view on life, and things or people in their lives.
