She wanted a news story on the star basketball player.
He needed a reality show bride.
TRINA
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that my scathing article on star basketball player, Liam Ashley, would get me roped into this role on the reality show “Bride At First Sight.” How dare he pick me for his bride! I was undercover for a story. Not even a real contestant.
My boss loved the idea of me entering the show. He and the producers showered me with promises of a promotion and money, and now that I’m married to Liam, I’m wondering if the torture is worth even that. Liam’s melting like a lovesick puppy. All my plans to make him wish he’d never laid eyes on me are swirling down the toilet. Please tell me it’s an act for our nightmarish life around cameras, and he’s not really falling for me. I can take the trials and drama caused by the TV show producers, but these weird moments of connection between us? I want out, and three months can’t pass by fast enough.
LIAM
Across a ballroom of ladies, I spotted the reporter who’d brought my reputation into question and turned my agent’s focus toward this humiliation of an excuse for PR. My mission became pick Trina, prove her wrong, and get her to rewrite her blistering news piece.
But after I dos, her intense wife-glares oddly fuel my desire. Our camera-bound kisses progress beyond tactics and become as complex as a grandma's puzzle. Against my vow and better judgment, I'm falling for her. As the clock ticks down the months, days, and hours left of our life on the air, I need a game plan to prove I’m not just playing, I’m all in. How can I convince Trina to stay?

I usually never rate books one star but I just could not enjoy this book . I read the whole thing because I don’t like DNF but omg the back and forth was so annoying and the book was so short that it felt like things were so rushed and plots were rushed and it was just kind of all over the place .
This was underdeveloped and boring. For example, heroine, who is a sportswriter sees Hero pick up a drunk woman and take her to his home so she immediately thinks he's a player who takes advantage of drunk women and writes a scathing article about him that makes him look bad in the press.
So Hero (who is a real nice guy BTW and NOT a player) at request of his coach, decides to go on a reality show where he has to choose a woman that he has to marry for 3 months. If they are selected as the couple most likely to stay married (there are other couples) they win some money.
Heroine attends this show incognito (somewhat) to get more dirt on Hero but Hero notices her and selects her as his bride so that she could see that he is a nice guy and not the douche she wrote about.
She in turn marries him so that she could win the money and write more bad articles about him (lovely, eh?). Anyway, 90% is a lot of nonsense of them doing "couples" things that the show has them do. There's a brief kiss here & there but no sex at all and when he finally explains who the OW was that she saw him with, her first reaction was to tell him that she didn't believe him, followed by a weak-ass "I'm sorry".
Uhm...she ruined the guys life and that's all she had to say? No retraction, no down-on-her-knees begging for mercy?
Anyhoo, towards the end, heroine's boss writes more negative crap about the Hero under her pen name, so Hero thinks she betrayed him again and kicks her to the curb. She then goes off and talks to a CNN reporter to tell her what happened and she gets a job out of it and a boost to her career! Lol. Hero sees the interview, forgives her and The End.
There is some slight humor, no cheating or OW/OM drama lamas, no sex scenes between them whatsoever (some brief make out scenes that were forgettable) and then we end with suddenly they are both in love to which this reader wondered how they got there when they didn't even know anything about each other!
There was a brief conversation/exchange where we learn Hero was in love and in a serious relationship with his ex HS or college sweetheart I think 2 years prior but things didn't work out for them because his career took priority over her and he broke his ex's heart and feels guilty & regretful. Nothing of whether or not he was still in love with her, how long they dated, etc. Heroine on the other hand had a cheating BF who was a Basketball player (I think) and she was bitter. I don't think we got any info on OM- or at least I was too bored to remember.
Everybody thinks they would like to be famous, like the celebrities we see on TV. For Liam and Trina, being famous has pitfalls all of its own. It is one thing to be a sports celebrity, as Liam is; he has the support of his teammates. But Trina was thrust unprepared into that spotlight; she really only had support from Liam. In an instant, she lost any semblance of privacy and her life becomes dictated by the reality TV show, who are messing with both of them.
This is the first book by Ms.Daniels that I read. Now I want MORE!! Both the main characters are very sympathetic, as are the family and team characters. They choices Trina and Liam make throughout the book lead them from enemies through understanding, caring and vulnerability to a satisfying HEA on their own terms.
I received an early review copy of this story from the author via BookFunnel and voluntarily chose to share my review.
This story is about a reality TV show, "Bride at First Sight". There are dozens of women, dressed to kill, all vying for a chance to spend three months married to Liam Ashley, a star basketball player for the Thunderhawks.
Liam disappoints all the contestants when he chooses Trina, who is there as a reporter, not as a contestant.
The rest of this clean, humorous story is about the different challenges Liam and Trina face both as a married couple, plus the different scenarios the TV producers have dreamed up.
So... do Liam and Trina stay married? And which couple wins the most audience votes? Read Love Unscripted by Taryn Daniels for answers to those questions and for lighthearted entertainment.
I was given an ARC of this story from BookFunnel, at the request of the author, but this review is my honest opinion given voluntarily.
Quick, fun read. Although this a reality TV setting, I love how the author was able to develop Liam and Trina's relationship without too much drama from the TV show itself. Liam and Trina agree to a reality TV marriage for completely different reasons. Pro basketball player Liam, on the show voluntarily but not hopeful he'll find true love. Reporter Trina was looking for a story and involuntarily gets roped in. Liam picks Trina in hopes she'll see she was wrong about a previous damaging article she wrote about him and change it. Trina reluctantly agrees to the marriage for the "in" of another story and furthering her career. As they get to know each other past their first impressions, and with a little help from forced proximity, they find a HEA they never thought could happen.

A hilarious reality show inspired tale that keeps one chuckling and laughing as Trina gets picked by Liam to be his bride when she is standing on the sidelines during the broadcast. You see there was a sort of history between them as she wrote what Liam felt was a derogatory story about him that was not true and it caused him a lot of trouble. Figuring if he picked her as his bride then he would have a chance to show her how wrong she was about him. The hijinks and banter between the two of them lead the reader on a delightful journey that obviously leads to love between the two of them by the end.
Liam, a famous basketball player, is part of a reality program where it’s marriage at first sight. He is unsure of who he wants to choose, but figures he will choose the most likely one he would not fall in love with. Trina is there to cover the story and show everyone that Liam is not a good guy. She’s already written one article regarding that. She’s not a contestant, , Liam spots her and picks her. How will this work out?
Enjoy the sparks that happen between the two and the denial. Will they stay together or get divorced. Fun characters. I received an ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is a new to me author and I will be looking for more of her books. If you are looking for lighthearted and funny reading, pick this one up. This is one of the funniest rom-com’s to read. Through a series of mishaps Trina is married to her nemesis, Liam. Trina is an undercover reporter and did a scandalous article about Liam. When he sees her with the women on the set of a show he is participating in, he chooses her to prove he isn’t the person she thinks him to be. He hopes to get his good reputation back with an apology from her. How will this marriage of convenience work out?
This was a fun read! It had me smiling and laughing throughout the whole read. It features a reality show, but I like the way it was done. I've read other books that featured a reality show and everything was very catty and overly dramatic....This was a nice departure from that. Don't get me wrong, there's drama. But it's well Balanced. This works as a standalone, but there are a few characters from other books in the series. No cussing and an HEA.
Liam Ashley is a pro basketball player and Trina Smith is a reporter who wrote a scandalous story about him. He hasn’t forgotten and takes his revenge by picking her as his 90 day bride.
Trina is stumped into silence and ends up as Liam’s bride. While dealing with 24/7 cameras and producers, Trina slowly starts to see a different side to Liam. Who also sees more underneath Trina’s perpetual frown.
I loved their chemistry and the laugh out loud moments had my husband giving me the ‘eye’
3.5 stars This is a fun, entertaining read. Liam and Trina are intriguing, entertaining, feisty, strong, relatable, interesting, complex, entertaining characters. Their romance is fun to read and I enjoyed spending time with them. I love the family aspects of this story and that we get to spend time with characters we’ve met in other books. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment. The story is easy to read and get into.
I think this is my favorite Taryn Daniels book yet. The story really draws you in, so you HAVE to know what happens. Trina & Liam are such relatable characters, and the story moves at a good pace. I read it all in one sitting because I just couldn't put it down!
I received an ARC of this book, but all opinions are 100% my own.
It you're looking for something clean that gonna make you laugh this is for you. Have fun at this reality show. Everything starts as a fake relationship and marriage. Can be more than pretend? Can everything be real at the end? Find out what happened.
I received an advance free copy through Bookfennel and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.
Trina is undercover and Liam knows who she is. What a great start to this unexpectedly fun and enjoyable story. I was quickly rooting for Liam in this story and I love how this story evolved and ended. A great story.
Another story in the Nantucket series!! clean and wholesome, with amazing characters as usual and a story that will not let you go till you finish it. Trina and Liam will have you laughing, in this reality TV story!! called Love at first site. I highly recommend this book!! I loved it
This book is so good! It is a well written romcom that will keep you turning the pages. I loved it! I received a complimentary copy and was not required to write a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Loved, loved, loved this book. I laughed most of the way through it and kind of hated to finish it. There were a few sad moments but most of them were just funny and touching.
This book was realistic & entertaining. With so many reality TV shows out there, it was easy to imagine this story actually taking place. Liam & Trina's journey to overcome their differences in front of national TV kept me turning pages. This story provides a behind the scenes look at the contesters actions and feelings that didn't air on the TV. This is a fun, clean read. I received this book free as a member of the ARC team in exchange for an honest review.
A fun contemporary romance. I've always hated the movie rom-coms where the hero gate crashes someone else's party, borrows the microphone and proposes. A silly plot line - unless the story is about a couple who are stars of a reality TV show and everything they do is being followed by an audience. There's nothing real deep in this story, but if you're up for a light romantic story - enemies to lovers, arranged marriage trope, this will suit you.
Reality TV show Love at First Sight. Liam is a basketball player who has to choose a bride during the first show and marry for 3 months. When he sees the journalist in the shadows that wrote a scathing article about him he decides to choose her. Trina isn't one of the contestants. She's there to do an article not be part of the show. She doesn't like him after what she saw happen. When he chooses her she's out for revenge. Will they learn to get along. What is the truth behind her article? When the show ends, will they stay married or go their separate ways? I received an ARC via Bookfunnel. Review voluntarily given.
