John Adams is a Special Forces combat wizard, trained to kill the things that go bump in the night by the very country that has betrayed him. Desperate for answers he seeks the one man he trusts the most. Hunted by Otherworld assassins and the U.S. military, John sets out on a journey that will lead him on a path for the truth. Only in the end he may yet discover his REDEMPTION.

John Adams has been trained since childhood to kill monsters. He’s good at what he does. Believing his life’s work has been spent making the world a better place, he feels betrayed when he discovers that his country may be kidnapping soldiers to create unthinking killing machines. With the help of his partner, Nathan Blackcrow, an engineer wizard, Peotr Stragnoff, a 500 year old werebear, and Cynthia, an immortal Gryphon, John begins a journey that will give his life a new purpose. With the help of his friends John learns that killing first, asking questions later may not be the best policy.

Redemption is a fast-paced fantasy/military roller coaster ride. An exciting adventure that tells the story of a wizard who finds that his life isn’t as black and white as he thought.

I've had many jobs in my life. I bagged groceries in high school to pay for gas, fast food burgers, and yes...cigarettes and beer. I joined the Army and spent three years in Germany, learning how to stay awake during guard duty and how to be somewhat responsible. I was an electrician for a while, which gave me a good appreciation for what it feels like to get shocked. I decided, after getting zapped one too many times, to go back to school. While I was working as an electrician I had a daughter born with cerebral palsy. She is the best thing to have happened to me. I decided to stay home and take care of her after she had surgery to help her be able to walk and during that time I read a book so bad that I wanted to see if I could do better. Turns out I could, I found that I loved to write and I wasn't all that bad at it. Fast forward a few years and I have now finished five novels (one is nearing the end of the editing process) and a short story about Santa fighting zombies!

I've done a lot of things, but writing is in my soul, I hope you take the time to give my books a chance, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Story about two militairy friends who think they fight for the right cause while being manipulated and used. ( That is not so unusual, the way it has been done is)
Lots of emotions going around, friendships, finding your purpose in life. I liked the subtle touch of native american culture in the magic setting and the different ways of using magic.
The beginning was a bit rushed, maybe because of the flashbacks it did feel that way. It was a bit difficult to see where it all was going . The end made up for that, spectacular.

Good start

I had to pick it up as soon as I saw ‘combat mage’. It is a good story with a lot of potential. The world is interesting. The pace is somewhat uneven, but sorts itself out by the end. I’ll grab the next one to see how it proceeds, which is itself the best kind of review, right?

Nicely done

A fun little story, potential series. If price point is right, I will enjoy following the journey. Well edited, finely crafted story.

Stiff beginning to a rewarding read

The hard boiled militaristic start almost turned me off, but soon the characters came through and led a satisfying story. I'm sure future books in this series have a strong foundation on which to build.
