Leave No Boss Unturned

Rate this book
It was supposed to be a one-night stand but it turned into two. I couldn’t resist the brooding, sexy Greek god of a man who gets equally excited about ‘public relations’ as I do.

Adonis Rosi is a grumpy alpha male with admirable career aspirations of being the youngest tenured faculty in his department.

Which means he has no time for romance. A one-night stand? Sure. But romance? No.

How do I know this?

Because he told me as much hours before I found out he’s my new faculty advisor.

Of course, this was after I already had a one night stand with him. It was more of a tryst in a coffee shop, and it was the second time, but let’s not get hung up on details.

All that matters is if this secret gets out my parents are going to kill me.

I’ve already plagued them with one very public scandal. They’ll disown me if I get involved in another one.

But Adonis is impossible to resist, and the chemistry between us is volatile.

The more time we spend with each other the harder it is to fight off the lure of his brooding whiskey-brown eyes, his sexy frown, and his rock-hard body hidden beneath those snug fitting vests and ties he always wears.

The teacher-student fantasies running through my mind would horrify my church-going parents. Acting on these fantasies, well … I’d prefer to pretend I don’t know how bad that could turn out.

All it takes is one late night kiss to shatter whatever willpower we possess.

Unfortunately for both of us, the thrill of getting caught far outweighs the potential consequences.

And I just might love him for it.

Author’s Note: This is Adonis and Clover’s story. A grumpy-sunshine, teacher-student, forbidden workplace romance between a hot, brooding half Greek professor who made a vow to never trust women again and an overly cheerful, sarcastic, always-look-at-the-bright-side-of-life woman whose singular goal is to make her parents proud.

This book had a ton of hot and steamy scenes to keep the fires burning.

For me personally I couldn't connect with the characters like I would like so I did not enjoy as much I normally do when it comes to Aria's books.

Surprise!

Clover is forced to leave Harvard and move to another university. Before she starts, she has a hot encounter with a guy who turns out to be her new supervisor.
This is a brilliant story featuring one of the Rosi brothers.
Problems arise via an ex-girlfriend, a jealous student, and Clover's past indiscretion.
Steamy and loving with terrific characters. Clover is amazing. Maggie could have come across as a caricature, and it is a mark of Bliss' writing that, despite her behaviour, she doesn't. Very clever.
Adonis is great, conflicted, caught between passion and desire.

This is the second story in The Rosi Brothers series. While I felt this book has a steam factor of 5, the story itself was more like a 2 hence the 3-star rating. I was hoping for more substance which could have possibly been achieved with delving into the backstory on both Adonis and Clover - the main characters. The secondary characters of Lulu and Maggie also was lacking outside of them just being petty people. I usually love everything this author produces; this book just wasn't it. Leave No Boss Unturned by Aria Bliss, the second installment in The Rosi Brothers series, delivers an electrifying mix of forbidden workplace romance and sizzling chemistry that will keep you hooked from the very first page. If you're a fan of grumpy-sunshine dynamics, you'll be captivated by the steamy, emotionally charged relationship between Adonis Rosi—a brooding, career-driven professor—and Clover, the cheerful, sarcastic woman who turns his world upside down.

The premise alone had me intrigued—Clover's one-night stand with a sexy stranger turns out to be much more complicated when she finds out he's her new faculty advisor. The tension is immediate and undeniable. Aria Bliss expertly crafts a forbidden romance that feels both thrilling and dangerous, with every interaction between Adonis and Clover filled with the tantalizing risk of being discovered.

I loved how Clover’s bright and optimistic personality contrasted perfectly with Adonis's grumpy, no-nonsense demeanor. Their chemistry sizzles right off the page, and the back-and-forth between them is full of sharp banter and undeniable attraction. Despite his commitment to keeping things professional (and his vow to never trust women again), Adonis can’t help but be drawn to Clover’s infectious energy—and Clover, well, she’s absolutely powerless to resist the sexy, brooding professor with the body of a Greek god.

One of the standout aspects of Leave No Boss Unturned is how well it balances the thrill of a forbidden romance with deeper emotional stakes. Both characters have complex backstories that make their connection even more meaningful. Adonis is determined to become the youngest tenured professor in his department, and Clover’s pressure to make her parents proud adds layers of internal conflict to their already complicated relationship. The stakes are high—not just because of the taboo nature of their romance, but also because of the personal challenges each of them faces.

The teacher-student dynamic adds an extra layer of tension, especially with Clover’s church-going parents looming in the background, ready to disown her if they find out about the scandalous affair. And yet, despite all the obstacles, the forbidden thrill only makes their romance more intoxicating. I couldn’t help but root for them as they struggled to keep their hands off each other while the stakes—and the passion—kept rising.

If you love steamy, fast-paced romances with irresistible characters and plenty of forbidden tension, Leave No Boss Unturned is a must-read. Adonis and Clover’s story is a whirlwind of passion, witty banter, and heart-pounding moments that will leave you eager for more from The Rosi Brothers series.

PhD candidate Clover is starting over mid year after a scandal involving a married senator sent her fleeing from Cambridge back to NYC. After a night of blowing off steam before her faculty interview involving a very compromising position in a dark night club and a repeat performance at an off campus coffee shop and on one of the campus walking paths, she’s floored when she comes face to face with her PhD advisor and mentor to find it’s none other than her hot anonymous hookup.

After moving past the betrayal of his former live in girlfriend and grad student, Adonis is focusing on attaining tenure. He’s not interested in more than the occasional night out at a club where he watches from the shadows and sometimes hooks up for anonymous and semi public trysts. He’s gobsmacked then when his latest conquest shows up for her first day of post grad work with him.

Because of the slight difference in age between the MCs, this was far less unpalatable than a true large age gap romance between a tenured, senior professor and a teenage college student, which was the only reason I gave it a shot. I wasn’t sure from the description what Adonis’ specific kink proclivities were, but they weren’t truly objectionable although I suppose certainly reckless.

The reason I didn’t rate this book higher is the problematic and stereotypical characters of Lulu and Maggie as a scorned woman and passed over candidate respectively. Their actions, mannerisms, all things attributed to the two of them were so dated and offensive, so distasteful that it was frustrating to say the least. It also made Adonis seem like a judgy, elitist d0uche by comparison, particularly with asides like him comparing Lulu’s upbringing with that of his own, acknowledging that her parents did the best they could under their impoverished circumstances contrasted with his own parents, who he noted lived modestly though nomadically but saved plenty of money to retire comfortably. This is just one instance where I wanted to smash my kindle.

That attitude, and the “not like other women” trope that I really detest is a great deal of the four vs five star review.

I was furnished an advance reader copy from booksirens, and I’m sharing my honest impressions.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Standalone in the series and this one is Adonis and Clover's story. There is the slight 'taboo' of teacher and student trope but it's nothing over the top since it's at the graduate level. So if anything, it just added to the naughtiness and steam. The chemistry between Adonis and Clover is explosive and the kink they enjoy just brings the tension all the way up! I loved Adonis, intensity, grumpiness and all, right from the start. It took me a while to warm up to Clover, as it felt like she just couldn't stand up for herself and it was just a tad annoying. But she does finally 'grow up', owns her 'mistakes', takes responsibility, and fights for what she wants. I loved this story, which had me smiling, laughing, getting angry and completely engaged from start to end. The epilogue was just perfect for these 2 and couldn't have been wrapped up in a more perfect way.

I usually don't do student/professor romances, but this one was a little different. The FMC wasn't a 19-year-old but a Ph.D. student. It was more tolerable. I felt like I could picture Clover easily with Adonis's description. However, her description of him made it hard for me to picture him. I loved that Adonis found someone who had the same kinks as him. He deserved to find someone who wouldn't make him think he was weird. I feel his character evolved more than hers, so I liked him more than her.

I despised her father and wanted to punch him myself with how mean he was towards her. I also couldn't stand Lulu and Maggie. I would have loved to have seen Maggie learn from her lesson then just be "forgiven." She deserved so much more than what she got.

The multiple-chapter jumps took me out of the story a few times. I felt that the text messages at the beginning of some chapters didn't serve a purpose except that every chapter starts with them. Some could have been skipped since they didn't pertain to the scenes that would happen in the chapter.

Sweet and spicy!

Get ready for an incendiary romance set in the world of academia! Adonis (Donnie) is the professor and he discovers that Clover is his new grad student AFTER they've already had a couple scorching hot interludes. I'll say it right up front - if you're into stories with public sex and just a tiny bit of exhibitionism, this book was written for you!

How can they put their careers first when the fire between them just can't be ignored? In addition to all that tension, this story has a secret scandal, a jealous co-worker, a domineering dad, and a vengeful ex, keeping our young lovers busy as they figure out how to balance their competing desires and make their relationship work.

This author certainly knows how to bring the heat to her stories, and I loved every bit of this one. As the second in a series, we also get to see the couple from the previous book and get a few hints about what's in store for the still-single Rosi brothers. I'm looking forward to reading them all. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Adonis and Clover have a one night stand, which turns into two.
Adonis does not trust women since his last relationship failed.
Clover had to leave Harvard after a major scandal.
This is her second chance to prove to her parents they can trust her again.
When she finds out Adonis is Dr Rosi her new faculty advisor she tries to stay away.
Adonis and Clover cannot deny their chemistry and end up giving into it.
Clover does not need another scandal and Adonis cannot afford a scandal as it will affect his chances of getting ahead. They both know if it comes they are having an affair they will lose everything.
They do get to their happily ever after, but it is not easy.
There is lots of drama, angst jealousy, steam, family, friendships,
romance and a happily ever after.
Loved the banter between the Rosi brothers and i cannot wait for the next book in this series.

This is book 2 in Bliss' The Rosi Brothers series and while a great addition to the series, this book can easily be read as a standalone. Our main characters is Rosi brother Adonis (Donnie) and Clover. This is a sweet and steamy forbidden romance read between a grumpy-ish, alpha professor and his student. But of course, they met before they knew (what are the chances - only in the world of romance). I loved these characters and the dual point of view - the text chat communications which are so a part of the real world. I also enjoyed how Clover calmed Dr Rosi and the balance of sweet and steam. All that said, I had a hard time with the conflict resolution that felt rushed and the character growth that seemed to not really happen at all. I still very much enjoyed this read and hope to see some of these characters in the next book in this series!

This was a nice forbidden story between a teacher and his student. Adonis and Clover meet at a bar and hook up, not knowing that they will see each other again. Clover is a new transfer, after she ends up in one of the worst scandals. I liked how these two fought their attractions but eventually they couldn’t resist each other. I also loved how Adonis showed how he cared for Clover despite their complicated relationship. I didn’t really care for Clover’s father and how he was so judgy of her.i felt like he was ruining the story and too much of the story was wasted with his judgmental behavior, but I did enjoy when he apologized and admitted that he was wrong and too hard on Clover. Otherwise this story was pretty cute and steamy, add in the great storyline and your in for a treat.

If you are looking for something steamy to read. This one should be on your list. Donnie and Clover definitely have chemistry in spades. And both like a touch of the dangerous. Donnie is determined to earn tenure but when his disaster of an ex follows him to the University and announces she wants to get back together. He knows he must keep his nose clean. Clover is hiding from a high profile scandal. But determined to complete her degree she agrees to switch universities and right smack into Donnie. Another scandal waiting to happen? How would she handle that? Clover must navigate some petty jealous students to get to the finish line. They both know it’s probably not a good idea to get together. But hey where’s the fun in that? And they both can use some fun! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the second book in a series that follows four brothers. The books can be read as standalone but the characters are fun and I recommend reading the series.

This book didn’t quite do it for me. It felt long but not much happened. The conflict was circular and I had a hard time understanding the MMCs point of view.

This also seemed like falling into lust rather than love. The two love interests spent little time outside of sex connecting and getting to know each other.

This story has the hallmark Aria Bliss humor and steam, both of which I love. I’d recommend this story but with the caveats shared above.

'Leave No Boss Unturned' was entertaining. The delightful plot was filled with a glowing first impression, some hilarity, a new beginning, secrets, daring exploits, receiving complaints from a colleague, keeping a colleague at bay, craving attention, teaching a class with an advisor, playing games, family loyalty, running into an ex, a colleague's blackmailing scheme, dealing with the colleague, and falling in love.
Also, Adonis and Clover, the protagonists, were ideally suited for each other and emanated chemistry. In addition, I liked the author's vivid descriptions which created an upbeat tone. Overall, I liked the amusing narrative.

Leave No Boss Unturned: A Teacher Student Romance (Book 2 of The Rosi Brothers) by Aria Bliss. Good contemporary romance with several troupes I enjoy such as the grump/ sunshine, teacher/student, and workplace forbidden tryst. This story features Adonis and Clover and I enjoyed the author’s writing style and the way she brought their story to life. Mild yet engaging drama, easy banter, charismatic characters, and steamy bits.

Adonis & Clover
Hot, hot, hot 🔥
Thanks to Clover being a PHD student there wasn't the awkwardness of an 18/19 year old with a older man holding all of the power.
The steamy scenes were plentiful & frequent right from the start.
It would have been nice to see Clover's Dad & Lulu right their wrongs but given the length of the book I'm happy it focuses so much on Clover & Donnie.
