In a world full of the sick and dying, the hurting and desperate, and those lost in darkness, angels dwell.
Once a Warrior Angel, Nathaniel has now become one of the Fallen, after losing sight of his purpose. Fallen angels are cursed to wander the depths for all of eternity, a fate that Nathan has avoided every day for the past seven years. As the demon within him grows, he knows that it is only a matter of time until he becomes a monster. His love of a human woman is what caused him to lose his wings, yet Nathan cannot bring himself to regret it, or the child that came of their love. It is that child’s identity as a Naphil—half angel, half human—that threatens the existence of everyone he loves and Nathan finds himself having to face his past in order to secure his son’s future.
Carmen Rodriguez lives her life in constant fear. The power of her son grows every day, leaving him vulnerable to the plans of the Evil One. When a demon’s bold abduction puts Carmen in a desperate position, she turns to the only one who can bring him back. Nathan warns her that the road to rescuing their son will be a treacherous one … one that leads them straight into lair of the Prince of Darkness. The third and final installment of the Angels Among Us series goes where it never has before.
Even in the very pits of hell, can an angel find salvation? Will the love that Nathan has for Carmen and his son be enough, or will Nathan finally have to face the consequences of his actions.
Elise Marion is a lover books and has a special place in her heart for sweet and sensual romance. Writing about love across all walks of life is her passion, as is reaching people through the written word. The Army wife and stay-at-home mother of two spends most of her time taking care of her children. Her second job includes writing stories about characters that people can fall in love with. When the Texas native isn’t caring for her family or writing, you can usually find her with her nose in a book, singing loudly, or cooking up something new in the kitchen.
What an amazing ending to a great series. I’m very sad to see it at its close, but am happy to have gotten to experience the paranormal world of angels, fallen, demons, guardians, true love and much more that was written with such vivid detail and emotion it felt as if it was brought to life. Redemption is part of the Angels Among Us series, but can definitely be read as a stand-alone read (I do however recommend the rest of the series to gain a true appreciation). Any fan of paranormal romance will fall in love with all that leads to Redemption ;)
Most of the characters of the series had involvement in this installment and it was great to see how they’ve progressed. But the main focus here is Carmen, Nathan and their son. Many years have passed since the strength of their love (Nathan and Carmen) have brought them together and brought about Nathan’s fate. Can fate be so cruel as to prevent to such strong loving souls from being together? It’s a fight to the finish when the battle of good and evil continues on and their son becomes a very important part of it. Now all they need to do is win!
This story is packed full of excitement, emotion, friendship, family and love that any reader will find themselves drawn into and craving more. I recently learned Elise is going to do a spin off called the Guardian series. I’m looking forward to it and know it will be just as addictive as the Angel series.
The ending was epic, and I look forward to the spin-off series even more after getting a small glimpse into it at the end of "Redemption." I was wondering since there were questions at the end that needed to be answered. Even the angels said there's more going on that needs to be finished. Angels Among Us just introduced us to three angels who fell in love and how they were able to live their lives with their loved ones. There's a battle now that needs to be conquered or should I say battles.
Elise Marion did not disappoint in the last book, and it had me crying as well. I love her writing style since it is very descriptive, powerful, and emotional. If you have not read this trilogy yet, what are you waiting for? Warning though, you will miss the Angels after your done reading all three books.
I read Angels Among Us (Box Set) that included Fallen, Tempted and Redemption so my review reflects the entire series.
Other than a short story in the Hot Summer Nights Anthology, Angels Among Us is my first novel read from Elise Marion. I love paranormal and her paranormal romances will knock your socks off. Elise is an amazing author. Her writing paints a canvas for the reader and completely engulfs you into the story. Angels Among Us shows us that love can be many things. It can create and shatter families. It can build us up and strip us down. It’s the many faces of love. Angels Among Us is a collection of three stories; Fallen, Tempted and Redemption. My favorite in the series is Redemption because it shows that in the end love can concur all. And who isn’t a sucker for a happy ending. Be sure and read the fantastic forward by R. K. Ryals too!
Book One: Fallen Angel of healing Amir is dedicated to the cause of heaven and never expects to find himself pining for a human human ... until he meets Shayla Gaines, a professional ballerina hanging on the edge of death after a fatal car accident. While Amir's mission is to heal Shayla's body, he will soon find himself looking to possess her heart and face a choice between loneliness and divinity, or love and damnation.
Review Fallen restored my faith in true love. Every woman should be gazed upon the way Amir looks at Shayla. To have someone offer to give up everything and redefined themselves for love…I have goose bumps all over again.
Book Two: Tempted Army Sergeant Jackson Bennett has lost everything, including his wife and child, after heavy survivor's guilt over events during his tour in Iraq leave him an empty shell of a man. His day to day existence is disrupted by messenger Angel Sarah, who brings with her a message of his heritage and purpose in the war between Heaven and Hell. Will guilt and shame keep Jackson from his calling? Will his forbidden desires be returned, or will he suffer the loss of yet another person he has come to love?
Review Tempted delves into the mind of a war torn Sergeant suffering from PTSD who has lost his family and is struggling to maintain his day to day existence. Tempted shows us that with love, patience and understanding we can overcome anything.
Book Three: Redemption Seven years after losing his wings, Angel Nathaniel is suffering the consequences of his actions as a Fallen angel. While he knows he must suffer for his choices, he fights the transformation into a demon every day, holding out hope that there is a way he can be saved. The love of his life, Carmen Rodriguez, lives her life in constant fear. Their half angel, half human son lives in danger because of his supernatural powers. Hell wants him for their side in the battle, but when Nathaniel catches wind of their daring kidnapping attempt, he is left with no choice but to unleash the demon inside of him to get his son back. With the woman he loves at his side, can Nathaniel find his redemption?
Review Redemption is my favorite in the series. You could feel the raw power and emotion that Carmen and Nathaniel exuded leap from the pages. Of all three stories, this one takes you to hell and back both emotionally and figuratively. It is a fitting ending to the series.
