Coffee shop owner April Cassidy isn't looking for love.
She's simply looking for someone to be her date for her parents' vow renewal. When Mason Henry, freelance photographer and total hunk, asks her to show him around the picturesque town of Blue Lake, April agrees. She's eager to spend the day thinking about something other than how to tell her meddling Grams that she'll be going to the ceremony solo.
Mason can't stay in Blue Lake, and April has no intention of leaving. With only one afternoon to spend together, can Mason convince April that what they share feels a little like love?
Fans of Kristan Higgins, Bella Andre, and Jennifer Probst will love the books in the Blue Lake series for their sassy heroines, rugged alpha males and laugh-out-loud moments.
New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Kristin Miller writes sweet and sassy contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and paranormal romance of all varieties. Kristin has degrees in psychology, English, and education, and taught high school and middle school English before crossing over to a career in writing. She lives in Northern California with her alpha male husband and their two children. She loves chocolate way more than she should and the gym less. You can usually find her in the corner of a coffee shop, laptop in front of her and mocha in hand, using the guests around her as fuel for her next book.
As with any great story set in a small town, the local color is a character in itself. Plus, the inhabitants and the heroine's family round out the cast of this sweet story. You'll cheer for the hero and heroine as they fall in love. Definitely a keeper.
When I Fall in Love is a cute story with good character build up but the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger and the story advertising at the end indicates it is the start of a series. The setting was true to the area and it is a beautiful part of the country for a photo journalist to be taking pictures. I loved Grandma's dress. LOL
I know this is just a novella so I expected it to be short, but it really could have used a bit more. I especially hate cliffhanger endings. This is a sweet story though.
Fun, light read. Short story. Small town girl, April, wants to stay but she'll never find a guy to love. Mason is a traveller. The photographer just might be willing to stay if the local girl will have him. And wouldn't that make Grams happy.
I won a copy from the author! Thanks Kristin! This was my first read of hers and it's a sweet short story. I look forward to reading more of her books in the future :-)
