Paris & Pastry #1

Paris Cravings

Rate this book
Can life really turn on a dime,
a missed bus—
or a stuck pastry shop door?

Chloe Dillard’s life has always been complicated. Her mother is a neurotic romance novelist and her boyfriend, Mathew, has been pressuring her to go “all the way”—even as one of her own best friends offers to accommodate him.

But after The Worst Night of Her Life, Chloe escapes on her Senior Class trip to the swoon-worthy city of Paris which takes her mind off her troubles—temporarily. On the final leg of her dream trip, Chloe squeezes in one final run for a last-minute box of decadent pastries. Add a stuck door, subtract a broken four-inch heel from her cute strappy sandals, and Chloe ends up one stuck girl on the bakery shop floor with a sprained ankle.

Rescued by the shop owner’s dreamy son with chocolate-syrup eyes, the beautiful city of Paris suddenly becomes Chloe’s personal secret adventure. And even though Jean-Paul, the oh-so-kind La Patisserie shop boy is the gentlemanly guy Chloe has always dreamed of, even he has a girlfriend.

The police are tracking her down as a run-away, Mom’s having a nervous breakdown over her daughter’s “disappearance”, and Chloe’s just trying to have a Happily-Ever-After even as her dreams with Matt are swirling down the drain.

Could being lost in the city of Paris be just what the doctor ordered? What’s a girl to do in the most romantic city in the world?

Kimberley Montpetit once spent all her souvenir money at the La Patisserie shops when she was in Paris—on the arm of her adorable husband. The author grew up in San Francisco, another swoon-worthy city, loves all things Parisian and chocolate and lives in a small town along the Rio Grande with her family.

Kimberley has won many awards for her work, including the Southwest Book Award, the Whitney Award, the Arizona/New Mexico Book Award, is a Crystal Kite Finalist (SCBWI) and included in the Bank Street College Best Books of the Year.

She once stayed in a haunted castle tower room at Borthwick Castle in Scotland, sailed on the Seine in Paris, walked the beaches of Normandy, eaten in numerous French cafes, ridden a camel in Petra, Jordan, sunbathed on Waikiki, shopped the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, and spent the night in an old Communist hotel in Bulgaria.

She adores all baked goodies; brownies, éclairs, donuts, tarts, and pie, and makes a lot of chocolate chip cookies while revising.

Kimberley is, of course, hard at work on her next novel(s).

I absolutely loved this book! I know some German, but my daughter is taking French in school--it's the most romantic language ever! There were plenty of French phrases and even more delicious French pastries. I honestly felt like I was exploring Paris with the descriptions given in the story. It wasn't a travelog by any means, but a magical, romantic story that completely drew me in. I loved the little doodles between sections within the chapters.

Chloe's past unfolds in snippets given here and there. She trying to make a big decision and decides to wait until after her trip to Paris with her French class that happens right after graduation. Mathew, her boyfriend, is pressuring her to give in to him physically and she just doesn't want to. I love how strong and dedicated she was to herself and her decision to wait, especially when she says, "I just think everybody should wait and make your husband or wife your one-and-only." That's exactly how I feel! I felt a connection with Chloe and not only because of that. She wants to make the most of the time she has and does so.

Jean-Paul was fabulous! Melting chocolate colored eyes...yum. Their connection was sizzling hot, yet it all stayed clean. Bonus points for that! Is a chance meeting connection enough to last or is it just a one-time thing? Read this book to find out.

I loved the ending, but I really wanted to know more about how her decision played out. Those details were skimmed over, but what happens after that was magnifique! Ooh-la-la.

Content: some swearing (not a lot); no violence, but some mild disrespect to authority; kissing and talk of sex, mainly the boyfriend wanting it and the MC not--no details. I would consider this clean for an older teen/adult.

I wouldn’t recommend reading this if you’re hungry. Even if you aren’t, you ‘ll be craving some French pastries! My husband lived in France for a couple years and he still talks about how good their food is.

I thought this was a fun read. I liked Chloe, although I wish she would’ve been a little braver where her boyfriend Mathew was concerned. I thought she seemed realistic, but it was a little frustrating for me because I wouldn’t have put up with half the stuff she did. I wanted to step in and shake some sense into her. I liked her time in Paris and Jean-Paul. I thought they had a sweet relationship and I loved their day/night date in Paris. Very romantic. I wasn't sure why so much time was spent on her getting a new passport, unless her luggage had been lost it was probably still with all her classmates and I thought too much time was spent worrying about it.

Overall, I enjoyed this one. Fun setting, yummy descriptions of food (and cute French boys), likable characters and a HEA. I did think it was a tad wordy or overly descriptive at times, but that could just be me.

So delicious! I was absolutely craving eclairs, crepes and chocolate croissants by the end of the first page of PARIS CRAVINGS. The only thing that stopped me from racing down to the local bakery and stuffing myself with beignets was the knowledge that the bakery was closed (it was one o'clock in the morning) and the sad realization that our local offerings couldn't possibly compare to those of the Paris Patisserie.

Besides, running to the bakery would have required putting down the book.

The story was a complete sensory delight. I don't usually read humorous romance, but by the time Chloe fell and sprained her ankle in the pastry shop and got "stuck" with the hot bakery boy, Jean-Paul, as her tour bus took off without her, I was hooked. I stayed up into the wee hours of the night with this one.

The subplots of the unfaithful boyfriend back home, the calculating friend, and the needy mom still grieving the death of Chloe's dad demonstrated there was a lot more going on below the surface. I was very glad because in the beginning I was worried that Chloe would end up being one of those boy crazy girls who would only be happy if she got her man.

I thoroughly enjoyed Chloe's inner journey of learning to trust her instincts. The plot moved with breathtaking speed and I honestly didn't know whether or not she would get any man until the very last page.

But I knew she would find herself and get her eclairs. I can't wait to read the other books in this delicious new series.

So much fun! I absolutely recommend this. I was craving something swoony and frothy, and I loved ANNA AND THE FRENCH KISS and Gayle Forman's JUST ONE DAY series--there aren't nearly enough books like that! So I dove head first into this one, and by the time I came up for air I'd lost more sleep than I could afford. But it was worth it. Not only is this a lovely romance with heart and humor, but there's a lot of hidden depth to it that elevates it beyond what I initially thought it was going to be. I went in with high hopes and great expectations, and I came out feeling joyfully surprised! <3

Lots to LOVE here! This is a sweet, clean romance for YA readers, with a great premise and an interesting setting! PARIS of course! I love that Chloe, who is on a high school trip to Paris, through a mishap, discovers not only French pastry to die for, but a surprise relationship as well, not to mention a little be about herself. There's plenty of romance, pastries, and Paris in this books. The sights, smells and sounds all come to life beautifully. I love the sprinkling of French through the book, too! A very sweet and pleasing romance story!

This book is D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!

When Chloe takes the chance to escape to Paris on her Senior Class trip, her only aim was to avoid ‘boy’ troubles for a while and calmly decide what course her life should take. Little did she know that she would fall in love with French desserts and that falling in trouble could bring her to paradise! After tripping and falling down at a bakery, and missing her team tour bus, Chloe meets Jean-Paul, the son of the owner of the bakery. The next couple of days fly by in a flurry of activities and before long she is back home dealing with her boyfriend drama.

It’s a sweet and love-at-first sight sort of story that has a dreamy boy, a sweet girl, setting in Paris and a lot of mouth watering desserts. What else does one need? It is fairly easy to fall in love with Chloe and Jean-Paul, the protagonists. They have good heads on their shoulders and are pretty down to earth characters. They resemble more to real life characters than fictitious ones. But I Loved Jean-Paul’s mother too. The language is easy going with fast paced narrations. And Chloe’s obsession with French desserts sent me into a flurry of baking once I put down the book.

Only drawback of the book that I can point out is the very clichéd name Jean-Paul for a French guy and how conveniently Jean-Paul’s relationship was handled. Other than that, this is a love story that will make you hungry for more (… and desserts)

A sweet romance and fun story about Chloe, who is on a high school trip to Paris. When she misses her tour bus because of a final stop at her favorite French pastry shop, she discovers that it might just be fate. Lots of romance, lots of pastries, and lots of Paris. What more can a girl want?

Who can resist a book set in Paris amidst a Patisserie shop full of eclairs and pastries?! I'm excited this is a series, because anything with a bakery involved and I am in! Paris Carvings started out with a girl, a big box, some high heels and a mishap with a door. Insert cute worker with Hershey brown eyes, a French accent and a missing passport and you have the beginnings of romance.

Chloe is about to leave her summer student exchange program in Paris when a mishap leaves her stranded and covered in whipped cream. But once she discovers just how nice the locals can be she doesn't ever want to leave! The trick is evading her tour group's hired henchman and her nervous mother while touring the dreamy Paris sites with her new- found "friend."

This is a feel good contemporary with a fun setting. There is a secondary story line of how Chloe deals with her boyfriend back home, written in flashback chapters of their relationship past to present. These were my least favorite parts of the novel as her BF is such a jerk! Red flags flying everywhere! But, overall this is a fun diversion. You can smell, taste and fell the warmth of a Paris bakery. Take me away to France!

I got about 50% into this book and while I was mildly entertained, the innuendos and her boyfriend Matthew's pressuring her into having sex, and his blatant cheating on her, and all the over talking of pastries and French desserts just didn't entice me to continue reading. Don't even mind that I don't know how it ends.

Moral Note: Some language, OMG's, hecks, dangs, etc. Romance - kissing, making out in bedroom, talk of wanting to have sex, and her not wanting too, etc. Don't recommend for the target area of teens at all.

This book delivered exactly what it promised--a sweet romance set among the sweet treats of Paris. IN Paris. Bonus!

Sometimes you just need to escape with a refreshing read and this book did that for me. The pacing was quick and the characters likable and endearing. The ending was a happy surprise for me--I totally didn't see that coming!

4.5 Stars. Probably the only Montpetit book I hadn’t read yet, this one feels very YA even though paired with more adult fare in the Falling for You collection. Dealing with peer pressure, popularity, premarital sex, and even relative poverty, the emotions aren’t milked for all they’re worth, they stay within the realm of believable. I appreciate that the French is well done and the ending is happily ever after.

Pun intended, this is a sweet romance, suitable for younger readers. The main character is an American high school girl who gets separated from her tour group in Paris and instead of getting lost, finds herself and the answers to her messy relationship.

NOTE: I received the novel in exchange for my honest review.

I was hooked on this novel right away. When i started reading and all the French pastries were being described, I felt in awe and in total envy. I think I'm as much a fan of pastries as Clare, although I don't think I'd miss my tour bus just to put my gluttonous thoughts at rest.

Anyway, i was actually expecting a bunch of pastry recipes in the back of the book, but was very disappointed when I found none. Pray tell, why would you tempt a person when you can't provide a recipe, eh?

Writing style:
It was told in an engaging, first person POV, with a fresh narrating voice. The research is obvious in Paris lifestyle, tourist hangouts and French pastry cuisine. I liked how each chapter had before and after parts, where Claire got to explain what had happened before her trip to Paris, and what was happening at the moment.

Story line:
Romantic and quite simple, it grabs the attention quite easily. But there is one drawback that I can't not mention. It reminded me way too much of Anna and the French Kiss. Sure, it isn't the same story, and all the Parisian references couldn't be helped... But the boy drama? The dropped girlfriend? The cheating boyfriend? The sudden attraction and jealousy? I really couldn't help comparing it to Anna's story.

Themes:
-Being stranded alone in a foreign country
-Trusting total strangers-when could it be a wise thing to do?
-Love at first sight/long distance relationships. (btw, how could a relationship be labeled 'long distance' when one party has gone on a vacation for a week?)
-Coincidences-do the really happen and how to make the most of them

Characters:
Jean-Paul was just a random French guy, whose family owns a Patiserie (pastry shop). He's kind and I guess we could call him a gentleman as he always seems to be helping Claire. I liked his determination to figure out his dream and to follow it. I felt sad because of the loss he had indured and was amazed at his will to live life with full force, but also being smart about it.

Claire was a reckless American girl, who was sent to spend a week in France. Yet, instead of enjoying all tourist attractions, she seemed to have a heart and mind for one thing only - and I'm not talking boys here. I'm talking French pastries. Being a beginner chef herself, Claire was dying to taste every pastry she could buy at the Patiserie. Then her little accident happened and voila - she is suddenly given the chance to indulge in pastries. And not only that, she actually finds her heart fluttering in the direction of a cute French boy.

In Conclusion:
When mother America calls, what will Claire do? Can she leave the enchanted French world in the past and return to a very much uncertain home and boyfriend situations?

Read this on my blog: http://daysofdysania.tumblr.com/post/...

Chloe Dillard and her classmates embarked on a trip to Paris for educational purposes—and to overload on yummy pastries. But when a box of French pâttiserries topples over and Chloe loses her footing and a chance to go back home, things don’t turn out to be as sweet as they was.

In the true spirit of French camaraderie, French boy Jean-Paulcomes along, with his arsenal of dazzling smiles, kind words and pastry skills. He takes Chloe under his wings, nurses her back to health, feeds her mind and stomach both with the sights of Paris and yummy French pastries.

It may sound like the perfect getaway—and it truly is—that is, until Chloe’s tracked down and forced to go home. With a pissed tour guide hot on her tracks and a boyfriend breathing down her neck, Chloe’s plans of living in la ville lumiére are shattered, and she’s left with the internal debate that we all deal with: to leave or to stay.

Paris Cravings was such a fun and fast read for me. I was prepared to drown in too much sugar, but I didn’t. It proved to be the right mix of heady fluff and substance, as well as the rich illustration of the most beautiful city in the world.

Chloe was a good character. Granted, she wasn’t a model student, daughter or girl by any means, but she was able to solve her problems in crunches and hobbling on two feet overseas, which made me give her credit that was due to her.

What made me appreciate this book better was my endearment for la ville de l’amour as well as my study of the French language. Books that drop you off at the centre of the City of Light and France provide a vivid depiction of the city that never fails to enchant, and this book gave me just that.

Overall, Paris Cravings was a good read. It hit the right notes of sweet and endearing along the lines of independence and adventure. I give it 3.5 stars. What I wouldn’t give to have a one-way ticket to France and a box of pâtisseries to call my own.

MY REVIEW (4 /5 stars): I fell in love with the city of Paris. I see why it is my son's favorite city in the world —its lights, sweets, sights, and mystical romance. This author created the perfect recipe for this book by putting in the ingredients of romance, a tour of Paris, nice teenagers, a bakery, and unending bends and surprises.

I love the quote and pictures that I had to post them as the romance just rolls off as Paris just oozes it all over. This poor girl, Chloe didn't have a chance trying to get away from her cheating ex-boyfriend, Matt. Paris have these gorgeous French guys that will just adore and eat you up if you are not careful with your heart.

Imagine Chloe meets a guy at the end of her trip, what are the odds that they have a quick romance and later can pick right back up if desired. One thing though, Chloe found what her dream is due to what she found she loved in Paris. She follows through and the surprises that follow are worth it.

The only thing I recommend is not find all of these yummy pastries that the author describes. Just think of the pounds that pastries can do but it is also so worth it at times. They sound so sinfully delicious!!!! I just don't want them next to me while i read as I have the habit of munching and don't even know how much as I get absorbed in a book. This author will put you into the story and keep you there as it is a fun easy read. You will not want to put it down till it is done. So go enjoy:)

Paris Cravings is totes adorable and I’m dying for a reread!! Mrs. Montpetit spins a charming tale, it was the perfect book to take a break from all the paranormal reads so it was very refreshing!

How Mrs. Montpetit intertwined the past and the present was done wonderfully. I was able to get connected and understand where Chloe was coming from all the while being able to fall head over heels for this blooming relationship. Though I adored this book with its enticing city, colorful culture, and cavity inducing words I did find Chloe a bit naïve. Though I get why, this is a coming of age story after all, but still she was a little too naïve sometimes for me. Just wanted to shake her silly. However I get it, when you’re in love and young sometimes you can be blinded from the truth.

But other than that, I found this to be an entertaining read! I was drawn in and it was hard to get me out. I don’t read many contemporary romances but when I do, they tend to be the best and I end up craving for more! I’m dying to see what else Mrs. Montpetit has up her sleeves! Her writing is simple and colorful at the same time making this an easy read so I flowed through this, devouring it even though I wanted to take my time with it.

Oh, there was one more thing that got to me. It was a déjà vu scene where Chloe is dancing/hobbling around with happiness and even the author put in about it being déjà vu but it kind of dragged the flow a bit but once we got past it, all was fine again and I was hypnotized once more.

Overall this is one pleasant read and I couldn’t be happier with how it ended. So if you’re looking for a charismatic romance in another world, almost like Anna and the French Kiss, then this is the perfect book for you!

Paris Cravings by Kimberley Montpetit is a sweet romance where Chloe Dillard is in France on a bus tour and she's in Paris the city of lights and the famous French Pastries found at her favorite bakery,
La Patisserie. It is her last night in Paris and she has ditched the tour and snuck out of the hotel and instead of going to the bus, she and her friend Sera have gone to La Patisserie one last time, before going on the bus to the Loire Valley, but they only have a few minutes to get the pastries and go to the rendezvous point but Chloe has to pick more pastries Sera says they only have 10 minutes to make the bus and leaves.. expecting Chloe to be behind her unfortunately her four inch heel gets stuck in the grate, while she's trying to open the door the wrong way.. the heel breaks and down goes Chloe pastries and all.. she looks up into the chocolate syrupy eyes of her rescuer a young Frenchman Jean-Paul whom she falls(quite literally, as you see) in love with instantly, the doctor checks her out and Jean-Paul takes her to the hospital and his maman(mother) insists she stay with them until her plane flight on Monday.. until then she's there guest, being spoilt by French cuisine, maman and sweet Jean-Paul who takes her on his scooter around Paris for the next 40+ hours except for sleeping!
It is a cute clean little romance, that is full of late teen fun.. aimed at the YA audience, but a beautiful story to lift your heart and make you think of running to the kitchen and baking up some cookies, cakes, lemon squares etc.
Recommend this to those 'starved, for a sweet romance well here is one that has an unexpected happy ending
I really liked Paris Cravings 4 stars

Chloe is on a summer trip to Paris with her high school French class. She has just graduated from high school and will be starting college in the fall. She has a gorgeous boyfriend back home, Matthew, but has fallen in love in Paris...with French pastries.

On the last morning before flying home to New York, Chloe and her best friend Sera sneak out of there hotel for one last trip to La Patisserie. Chloe wants to bring home one last box of pastries. As she quickly tries to purchase her pastries, talk to her mom on her cell phone, and listen to Sera yelling at her that they "need to go!", Chloe's high heeled sandal slips on the tile floor. Chloe, her phone, and her pastries all go sprawling all over the floor of La Patisserie.

Enter Jean-Paul, or the French hottie, as Chloe refers to him until she learns his name. He is the son of the owner of La Patisserie. He come to her aid and helps to take her to the hospital for x-rays to make sure Chloe's ankle isn't broken. By this time, Chloe has missed the bus for her tour group and is very concern about how and when she'll be able to meet up with them again, before they leave for New York the next morning.

What follows in the next 24 hours for Chloe is a series of mix-ups, adventures, and even a romantic encounter or two and that leaves her unsure of whether or not she wants to return home to New York and Matthew Perotti.

Paris Cravings is one of the most enjoyable books I've read all year. It left me with a happy feeling inside and renewed my desire to visit Paris one day. If you're a sucker for a fun romance novel, I highly recommend Paris Cravings!

Paris Cravings is a delightful and youthful romantic adventure through Paris. Chloe Dillard is in France with her her high school French class when a simple twist of fate completely changes the her life. The class is set to leave for the Loire Valley as their final excursion before flying home to New York. Chloe simply must make one last stop at Le Patisserie before boarding the bus. She's about to dash out the shop & run to catch the bus at the absolute last minute, over laden with bags and a box of pastries when she struggles to open the door & slips, breaking the heel on her shoe, twisting her ankle and the box of pastries goes flying. Covered with cream, chocolate and pastry, a customer and employee offer their aid but it's too late, the bus is gone and she's stuck in Paris. Thus ensues 48 hours of adventure as Chloe and Jean Paul explore Paris while attempting to avoid the tour personnel sent to track her down.

I loved this sweet, fun YA romantic adventure. The characters are authentic to their age and there's a bevy of minor themes that are woven throughout the story that give the plot and characters substance. While Chloe is a character with whom I sometimes became frustrated, she is an accurate representation of a head-strong 18-year-old young woman. Jean Paul was a swoon-worthy French boy who is not only chivalrous but adventurous. Paris Cravings was a delightful weekday read.

FYI~ fairly clean read except for a little language. No intimate scenes other than kissing, however topic of intimacy is brought up.

Honest disclosure~ received a copy for review

Paris Cravings, by Kimberley Montpetit (aka award-winning children's author Kimberley Griffiths Little), is the perfect kind of summer reading. It reminded me of Anna and the French Kiss, without all the relationship drama.

Paris CravingsChloe Dillard has enjoyed every moment of her ten-day Paris student trip--the pastries, the sights, and not least, the absence of her pressuring boyfriend. She loves Matthew, but after the Worst Night of Her Life (a mystery that only gradually comes clear in the story), everything seems complicated. Paris is the perfect escape.

But when a last-minute pastry run leads to an injury--and getting left behind by her tour group, Chloe has to rely on the kindness of the pastry shop owner, and the owner's dreamy son, to help her not only survive her last 48 hours in Paris, but thrive. As she learns how to make pastries and tours the city with Jean-Paul, Chloe finds herself rethinking most of what she thought she knew about her life.

The story was charming: Chloe herself is adorable and if Jean-Paul seems a teeny bit too good to be true, I'm not complaining. I was on occasion frustrated with Chloe's inability to see the problems with her boyfriend that seemed only too clear to an adult reader, but I think this is true to life for Chloe's age. I liked, too, that the book didn't end quite as I expected.

A great read for those who like their romances fun, frothy, and clean.

If you have ever dreamed of the romantic city of Paris, France then you are going to love this book. It is full of all things French: the city scenes, the drool worthy pastries and the hot french boy with chocolate eyes. All I know is I was left wanting French pastries so badly it almost hurt.

Chloe is young, just out of high school and on a school trip to Paris. She is a fun character, easy to like. One look into Jean-Paul's chocolate eyes and suddenly her embarrassing mishap doesn't seem so bad after all.

I loved Chloe and Jean-Paul's little adventure through Paris. It was romantic and will have every young girl swooning. Having officials trying to track Chloe down gave it a sort of bad girl feel which heightened the romance of the whole situation. At least Chloe called her mom and kept in touch with her that way. She wasn't totally off the charts. Phew!

There is quite a lot of the book devoted to Chloe and her boyfriend who wants to have sex and has been pressuring Chloe back home. She catches him in compromising situations with her friend and isn't sure she can trust him. Even though Chloe comes to the conclusion eventually that she doesn't want to have sex, it was a big focal point in the book. It was told in flashback mode throughout the story.

I loved the ending, how it sort of came full circle, ending how it began. Very romantic.

I just cannot resist a book with delicious pastries. Especially when the book is set in Paris. And the book cover is just adorable!

Chloe is going to make a big decision about her relationship with her boyfriend, Mathew after she went back from her trip to Paris with her French class. But Chloe missed her tour bus when she decided to take a last minute trip to her favorite Patisserie shop in Paris. She is stuck in the Patisserie shop with a sprained ankle. That is when the shop owner’s son, Jean-Paul rescued her.

I love Chloe. She’s a sweet and funny girl. But there are times when I just wanted to shake some senses into her, especially when Mathew was involved. I love Chloe’s obsession with French pastries. I wish I was in a Patisserie shop in Paris, devouring those delicious pastries like beignets. Jean-Paul is absolutely dreamy. He’s the kind of boy I imagined a French boy would be. The relationship between Chloe and Jean-Paul was short. But really sweet. I enjoy reading their adventure and trips in Paris. The author did a great job in describing Paris and pastries!

Overall, I’m in love with this book. Paris Cravings is definitely a delicious read with humor and cute romance.

Paris Cravings by Kimberley Montpetit
Meet Chloe and her new love…French pastries. Chloe and best friend Sera are touring France with their high school French club, but before they catch the bus for the final leg of their tour, Chloe and Sera sneak over to La Patisserie for a last taste of France and its delectable French pastries. Add in a missed bus, a trapped foot in the door and a fall and Chloe isn’t going anywhere. Meet the devilishly handsome bakery owner’s son Jean-Paul. When he comes to Chloe’s rescue, sparks fly. Will Chloe throw caution to the wind, forget her strained relationship with her boyfriend back home, and tour France with the hottest guy she has ever seen?
Paris Cravings is a contemporary young adult romance set in beautiful, historic France. The book is very well written. The author has a way of writing that makes you feel like you are back in high-school talking to your best friend. It was so fun, I just couldn’t put it down. It’s a Happily Ever After page turner, with romance, adventure and some juicy kisses along the way. Enjoy! Please note: there are some references to teen sex and pressure to have sex, so I do not recommend this book to those looking for a squeaky clean romance.

Paris Cravings by Kimberley Montpetit was such a cute story. Who hasn't fantasized about meeting the man of their dreams on some far off romantic place like Paris? This was an easy book to lose yourself in. It was fun to run with Chloe and Jean-Paul through Paris. I felt like I was there with them at times. The author's writing carries you away with her characters. With all the talk of pastries, I was hungry a lot while I read, and there are no REAL pastry shops here. Not any good ones anyway.

There was such and innocence to this book, and I loved it. Sweet and clean romances like this are probably my favorite kinds of romances to read.

Paris Cravings by Kimberley Montpetit was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Paris Cravings is a fun Young Adult romance. Chloe misses the bus to the next stop on her Senior trip to France when she sprains her ankle when trying to leave her favorite Paris bakery. She is taken in by the owners of the bakery while she tries to figure out how to meet up with the rest of her travel group.

The more time she spends with Jean-Paul and his mother, the more she comes to love both pastry baking and the brown eyed Jean-Paul! But there are so many cards stacked against them, not the least of which is an angry travel group leader, that Chole and Jean-Paul are destined to have just a summer romance that ends before it has had a chance to begin. But fate has other ideas.

This was a fun Young Adult romance that I didn’t expect to enjoy nearly as much as I did! I usually avoid modern YA books, but I am glad I decided to read this one. It was sweet and fun!

Well, I give it more of a 3.75 rating. It was a sweet, fun quick, clean romantic read and while I really did enjoy it, it maybe reminded me of Stephanie Perkins' Anna and the French Kiss? Minus a few things, but felt it was done already.

I loved Chloe Dillard's character. I felt she was a smart and funny young lady, who took a risk, as any young person in their late teens would do, and rebelled a little. Hey, when in France, right? I loved how the author made sure that Chloe was one who would not be swayed by boys so easily. She was your typical 18 year old, ready to graduate, taking advantage of all that Paris has to offer, and as for her party boy friend, he was, I think, the kind of foreign boy every girl dreams of! He was sweet and kind and funny. He was perfect.

This is a perfect summer read. Perfect for those who are looking for a light and cute read. I enjoyed it very much.
