Nothing excites me quite like a new Tales of The Outlaw Mages book being released, and I'm pleased to say that this newest addition was definitely worth the wait!

Songbinder picks up not long after the events of Persuader, with Blaise and Jefferson now happily married. However, following a sinister plot involving Jefferson's estranged sister, the two Mages find themselves thrown in the world of dark academia, unearthing new terrors and probing old scars.

As always, Blaise continues to be a precious cinnamon roll too good for this world..when I tell you I adore this man! In Songbinder, we get a new perspective in the form of Luci, Blaise's younger sister, who's following in her mother's alchemist footsteps.

I will never tire of this world and these characters, and I eagerly await their next adventure.

Seriously, if you haven't picked up Tales of The Outlaw Mages yet, I implore you to do so. Wild West inspired fantasy, sassy Pegasi, queer representation..it's got all the good stuff! Check out the first book, Breaker, you won't regret it!

The situations seem contrived. After 4 books of characters being traumatized you would think the characters would become cautious. The idiocy of Luci attending Cheswell with Blaise is so stupid. The fact that Jefferson has not even informed the gang of every member of the Quiet One is straight up negligence. For the claims that characters are smart or cautious they have shown little to prove these claims. I started noticing on the 3rd book, the 4th had more contradictions and decisions made that seem intentionally stupid to keep the plot going. The 5th book is full of contrived situations. This series is starting to feel like a bad CW show. The first book starts out strong, with the second ending nicely. But the books after have steadily gone down hill.

This series is a must read

I have read all five books and I am waiting for the sixth book to come out. The story is very engaging and very well written. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good reading experience. I have truly enjoyed this series. Thank you to the author and her wonderful mind.

Alchemy vs Magic

Quirky, loveable characters kept me engaged in the story. Always wanting to know what comes next. I didn't like how the pegasi were left in the stable for so long. Didn't seem realistic that they didn't contact Lucy.
