In summary,to me , very very disappointing. I purchased the book because having read some of his other character novels which I enjoyed I figured I would be getting and enjoying more of the same. This to me was absolutely tortureous reading and an absolute penance to get through . I hate giving up on books which was the reason why I didn't close it down at a very early stage . Sad to say, Mr. Bateman is now off my "Christmas Card List " and that is not going to change . Have to say a one star rating was incredibly generous on my part . I realise we all have different tastes and if others enjoyed it, good luck to them but I strongly suspect they are likely to be very very few in number
