Shannon Olson is fascinated with the outdoors and has a passion for exploring God’s country. His stories can touch your heart, make you gasp and definitely wet your pants. He divulges about his supper eyeballing him, parking his four-wheeler in a tree, pays respect to his old bird dog and even makes breaking bones a comical event. He has a unique way of ending up in near disaster situations and somehow always gets up laughing.
Not as much fishing as the title and cover imply, but still a funny collection of short stories. If you dislike poor grammar or "southern speak", you will hate this book. If you appreciate the author writing as he speaks in okie-ese, it is a fine collection of mostly hunting with some fishing stories. If memory serves me correctly, it was 43percent into the book when fishing was first mentioned. The fifth star is removed for the lack of editing, even with allowing for "southern speak". Decent, entertaining read overall. 4/5 stars.
