Immortal Assassins #5

Thorn Evermore

Catching feelings? No thanks. Love is a cage and I like my freedom.

Kyson

They say forty is the new thirty, but maybe that’s for regular people. Not guys like me who spend their days dusting off antiques and fantasizing about mythical beings. After too many breakups, I’ve given up on finding love, but my milestone birthday sent me out looking for a random hookup.

When I saw him, a man so gorgeous he didn’t even seem real, I hoped I wasn’t dreaming. We spent a few amazing hours together, leaving me with memories of an incredible night to keep me warm. Weirdly, Thorn didn’t just want a one night stand. He swept me off my feet like a regular fairy tale. Only he’s no prince. He’s way more exciting than that. A little dangerous too. He’s dropping love bombs left and right, but there’s just something about Thorn that lowers my guard, and I can’t help but fall for him.

When he drops a whole different kind of bomb on me, I discover my fantasies are real. Until him, I didn’t know what love really was, but now that I do, the past is truly history and the future is Thorn Evermore.

Thorn Evermore is book five in the Immortal Assassins series, a contemporary setting, MM romance featuring vampire assassins finding love with their fated mates. Book five contains a hedonistic vampire on the hunt for his latest adventure fix, a shy antique-loving mortal facing an identity crisis, love bombing with good intentions, dirty looks at bad exes, a touch of hurt/comfort, and an eternal soul finding out a fated mate is actually pretty rad.

Thorn made Kyson a dildo of his dick and hooked it to a machine.... imagine why 🤭 that was my favorite part. I had high hopes for this book. It was okk....just didn’t hit like I hoped. It didn't even feel like Thorn from the glimpses we get in the previous books...

“Your skin is so soft. You’re like a flower petal, lost on a breeze, but I found you.”

That sounds more like our poet, Eros?
Oh, and Kyson, being a whopping 40 year old acting like a giggling teenager, was really weird...

The usually dark and brooding playboy Thorn shows his softer side in Thorn Evermore when he meets his fated mate Kyson in a bar. Their attraction is instant, but I loved seeing them learn about each other. I loved how Thorn helped Kyson accept who he was (mostly), his insecurities about his body fed by past boyfriends, it was sweet how Thorn was always ready to tell him he was perfect the way he was. I was amused at Thorn's confusion about his feelings for Kyson and how he needed to ask Yves for advice and clarification. Kyson's ex was a nasty guy and I enjoyed seeing Kyson become able to stand up to him and put him in his place. These two were perfect together and it was a sweet low angst read.

I'm looking forward to Yves' story next, hopefully his fated mate is deserving of him.

Once again, we find ourselves with a fated mates situation - although Thorn is pretty clueless about what that actually means... I absolutely love that these two mates share a love of adventure and pushing boundaries and that Kyson is all in on the relationship! I love how thoughtful and sweet the relationship makes Thorn and what the connection feels like. I also love the little hints we get about what Yves has been going through and what might be in store for him in the next book, now that his brothers are settled.

Like the previous stories, the world building and characters drew me in and held my interest from the first word to the last. I can't believe we're almost at the end of the Immortal Assassins world...

This was sort of a disappointment. There were so many things I would have changed to make this better. Thorn was a complicated character and this turned him into an insta-lovey fool. His character completely changed and seemingly out of nowhere. Kyson, although likeable, came completely out of left field. I think he would have worked better if he was somehow connected to one of the other vampire mates. Even after finishing the book, I still know next to nothing about him besides his ex's treatment of him and his troubled family history. Kyson never made a fuss about anything Thorn did and within like 3 days he was all set to be with Thorn forever. There's insta-love and then there's this book. None of it made sense to me. We also don't get to see any of the other characters hardly at all. The author had a great setting and didn't use it to the best of their ability. Also random elves? That were never explained? This one was frustrating and probably more of a filler book to get to Yves, which we are all waiting for.

I'm bored and disappointed with this book. Thorn was supposed to be the wild one, but in this book he talks like a poet wannabe (a detail I could swear didn't appear in the previous books)

This was awful and I still hate the prologues.

Well Kyson, you beautiful broken man, I see you, I get you, you are me, as I am you. This beautiful man's insecurities were shown so openly and beautifully that you understood why he felt them, even if really they were just in his head from past partners who didn't understand the treasure he was. Enter Thorn, our hedonist vampire, who sees him for his true beauty from the first encounter. From that moment on, he does everything and anything he can do for Kyson to see his true self.
What another beautiful pairing of fated mates from the Immortal Assassins series. Eacy pairing was formed to make the other better and stronger. Cannot wait to see what Mia has in store for Yves.

My Notes:
Oh how the mighty have fallen. For someone who didn’t want Fate to sink her claws into him, Thorn really took to Kyson and having a mate. I love how opposite they seemed, yet it was perfect because they balanced each other out so well. Loved the opening scene too with Nathaniel, it just really screamed Thorn lol. The man has not changed, he was born to be a reborn as a vampire. Also, a lot of build up for Yves! The letters from the museum? The letter from the Council? Where is his fated mate? I love it when we have not so perfect characters!!! Out of all the couples so far, I love this couple the best. Thorn and Kyson are the total opposites, but so perfect together. Now on to the last book in the series, as I say, save the best for last.

What an absolute doll of a book. Kyson was just adorable. He was this sweet little teddy bear waiting to get gobbled up by Thorn.

I really loved Kyson and Thorn together. Though their story is quick, it felt right in the best way. Thorn was exactly what Kyson needed to soothe those ragged edges. They were sexy and swoony all around.

This has been such a charming series. I’m sad to see it ending, but I am so excited for Yves to get his story. Really looking forward to the next one.

It's another masterpiece of this series. In one word it was Amazing and interesting to see Thorn fall in love.
Antique dealer Kyson was an interesting character, quite realistic. He was a perfect candidate for Thorn's Fated mate. with some twists and turns and some mysterious supernatural creatures, it was an awesome read.

#Can't wait for the next book.

Thorn was shown as a hedonistic, care-for-nothing, debauchery guy. He goes over and over about how never wanted a mate and be caged. Then, suddenly, within a couple of days, he is all in this instalove gooey. There’s no angst. No drama. No fighting his feelings.
Kyson is an one-dimensional character whose personality is a zero. What we know about him? He’s 40, has no family and keeps listening to his ex bullying. He thinks of himself as fat and unattractive. And that’s all. He meets Thorn, has a hook-up with him and within days he has accepted the supernatural world, became a vampire and has a forever fated mate. No questioning. No fear. Not even a “we are going too fast” question.
Then the story. There’s no story here. I kept waiting for something to happen and nothing happened. There were some random elves here and this oddity museum with real vampire artifacts there. They tookm things out of the museum and we never saw what happened to them or how Yves reacted to that. I thought the big drama would be with Kyson’s ex, but he turned to be just a weak loser. For all the commotion and fights we had in the past books, I was expecting more.

Thorn Evermore is the fifth book in Mia Monroe's Immortal Assassins series. I think it could technically be read as a standalone, but it's probably more enjoyable read in order. Here's what you can expect from Thorn and Kyson:

🖤 MM paranormal romance in a contemporary setting
🖤 First person dual point of view
🖤 Guaranteed happily ever after
🖤 Vampire x human
🖤 Fated mates
🖤 A hedonistic vampire
🖤 A shy, antique-loving mortal
🖤 Love bombing with good intentions
🖤 Found family
🖤 Low relationship angst

As always, ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. Note that this list of warnings may be incomplete. Please take care of yourself while reading.

Now that I've completed the series, I can safely say that Thorn Evermore was my favourite out of the six! I've been looking forward to Thorn's book because he was so adamant on not wanting a fated mate. I wasn't expecting Kyson, but he was absolutely perfect for our resident hedonist.

I think what I liked more about this one is that Kyson seemed a bit different than the other mates. He's a bit older, and the poor guy has some major body image issues (that he learns don't magically go away when you become a vampire). As many of us have struggled with body image issues, I really liked how the author chose to portray Kyson's. I also found the underlying plots surrounding Kyson's ex-boyfriend and the theft at the antique store to compliment the romance aspect of this one very well. And of course, as with the other books, the spice has been great! I think this one was also set apart because Kyson was one of the few that put the brakes on when Thorn went full tilt (his well-meaning love bombing), and I felt their romance developed a little more naturally. They were so sweet!

"First, we'll indulge in the flesh. Later, we'll indugle in the blood."

Well peeps the resident playboy vampire of the group is officially tied down and mated.Thorns book wasn't like I expected. I assumed based on his lifestyle and previous thoughts on having a mate that Thorn would fight the pull tooth and nail. Color me surprised when that man went full blown stalker from the get-go over his sweet Kyson.

Kyson was a total sweetheart, but I gotta be honest. Man is naive AF. He totally believed Thorn's lies about how Thorn knew his workplace and home addresses with minimal fuss. For all he knew Thorn could have been a total serial killer! And technically he is! Just because Thorn murders only bad dudes doesn't mean he isn't an assassin who thoughroughly enjoys his work.

These two were also insatiable. I loved how Thorn was so thoughtful, constantly reassuring Kyson of his attraction to help him break out of his shell. Poor Kyson had a bit of a self-esteem issue due to some crappy exes constantly putting him down for things like his weight. I HATE fat shaming. It's such a cruel thing to do to someone and coming from a person who has struggled with their weight, while also being in perfect health, I can relate so much.

This book was pretty low angst and mostly focused on the whirlwind relationship between Thorn and Kyson. It also wasn't as dark as the previous books either. On another note, I'm excited to say we get a few hints as to the mate of the last vampire left to find his forever. YVES!!!! To say I'm looking forward to his book is an understatement. That man has helped each of his family members in one way or another when it came to their mates, all while desperately wishing for his own. All I can say is I hope the man meant for him realizes what a gem he has in Yves.

I have been waiting for Thorne's story since book 1! I knew this sassy, adrenilane junky vampire would be brought to his knees when his fated mate appears. Mia Monroe definitley didn't disappoint with Kyson. He is a cinnimon roll with all kinds of self-esteem issues, a little nerdy, and ready to break out of his old mold and be adventerous. Cue Thorne 😈

Thorne has existed for several centuries and he has saught out every depravity to exist. He likes to chase the high and frequently "overindulges" even though that's not really a thing for vampires. Mortal substances do not affect the vampires the same way. So, he is constantly chasing more to try and find his satisfaction. He goes to a club one night and Kyson enters his line of sight. Kyson is on his first night of trying something out of his comfort zone. And, even though he can sense a little danger in Thorne, he is also drawn to him and oddly trusts him. Their one night stand sets off bombs internally and Thorne is obviously confused by the feelings he is suddenly having. Poor sweet Kyson cannot fathom why Thorne would choose him and why he is saying all these lovely things to him. Claiming Kyson is beautiful, sexy, perfect.

This story is a little lighter than the rest of the series but honestly I think it fits with how Thorne is. He has always been shown as this big tough guy, he lets his beast show often, doesn't show mercy on his marks. But, as soon as Kyson enters his life it is like he is reborn with a new purpose. His focus is first and foremost to make his mate happy. His vampire ways are still there but to see how affected he is by Kyson when he is turned is a whole lot of fun!

The ending is very intriguing and I feel like there is going to be a lot going down in Yves story. But, as one of the orginals and the head of the House of Orpheus, he deserves an hea of epic proportions.

I am struggling with this review because I want to be honest; I didn't enjoy this novel as much as the others. It felt like a filler, and I know the author had saved Thorn and Yves as the last two characters to find their mates for a reason. However, I struggled through this novel and feel like I read a completely different novel from everyone else.
Let's start with what I struggled with first, and then I'll end on a high note because, despite everything, there were good things about this novel that I did enjoy. First, how Thorn and Kyson found each other felt very anti-climatic. With all the talk about Thorn being this playboy and the way he had a hard time fighting his addictions and his outburst from the previous novel, I expected more drama and more struggle. Thorn's character felt almost flat. I really wanted more passionate interactions between him and his brothers and him and Yves.
Speaking of interactions - some of the dialogue felt forced and non-dynamic. I love Mia Monroe's dialogue and banter between her characters, and this novel has some good banter. I was left wanting more with some of Kyson's and Thorn's interactions.
Kyson was sweet, but his character was very one-dimensional to me. I do not like fat shaming, and I can relate to the struggles with body images that Kyson had. Maybe that's why it felt like it was Kyson's whole personality because something like that can consume a person. I wish we could have seen his sweet and unselfish personality more.
I will reread this novel when Yves' story comes out; maybe my review will be different then.
As always, the steamy parts were well written, and Thorn and Kyson's chemistry was very potent. I did enjoy Thorn's prologue - his introduction to the brothers was creative.
I look forward to reading Yves' story and what the future brings to our mated Immortal Assassins!

**********Contains Spoilers**********

This was probably my least favourite of the series so far, as this book didn’t really have much of a danger aspect towards the mortal mate like the previous books but that’s a very minor issue. There was just Kyson’s ex being his a*sehole self. Still an enjoyable read though. I also thought that it was another good addition to the Immortal Assassins Series. I would’ve loved to get more insight into Thorn’s life as a baby vampire and what made him into the vampire assassin he is today. As we got the prologue where he met Yves and his brothers, then was turned by Yves and became part of their family.

I do find it strange that Yves has pretty much had sex with all of them not long after they chose to become vampires. Yes, they were all adults and could make their own decisions but it kind of comes across as a tad coercive. As they’ll be getting the chance to either get out of the bad situation they’re in or finally have what they most desire, the touch of a man. The book then flips straight into the present day. Thorn and his brothers are hired assassins who take out the trash. They have a code that they follow, they try and only take out the truely evil, no children and hopefully no innocents.

They definitely do revel in their kills though. Man, Kyson’s ex-boyfriend is a complete a*sehole and I’m glad that Kyson finally knows his true worth, as Thorn absolutely adores him. Considering Thorn was the most vocal about not wanting to find his mate out of all his brothers, I thought that he accepted that he’d found him really easily. Even though Thorn and Kyson were complete opposites, I thought that they were great together and their chemistry was off the charts. I’m looking forward to reading the final book in this series. It’s finally Yves’s turn. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.

It's good to finally have Thorn's story as he has been the one vampire of the group who has had no desire to find their mate. Kyson is the complete opposite to Thorn's excessive ways, though their first meeting is Kyson trying to live life a little more outside his comfort zone by going to a club for a hookup.
I love that initial zing felt by Thorn and how the two are together. Thorn makes Kyson feel beautiful, something he has really struggled with because of his ex, who still happens to be his manager at work. Thorn has to battle against these new feelings that rise up in him against what he thought he always wanted but he's been living a half life, indulging in life's vices, the opposite of Kyson. Although, he does seem to have a secret danger streak that is totally adorable on him, along with everything else. Thorn gives him the courage to experience life outside of the box and supports him right alongside.
They do have a couple of things to deal with between them but I was expecting a little more resistance from Thorn when it came to meeting his mate, and hoped for some more information when it comes to the elusive Admiral character that has been mentioned in previous books.
Overall, another good book in the series. I'm sad that it's the penultimate one but I cannot wait for Yves book, probably the most deserving of a HEA after bringing them all together. It should be interesting with how this book finishes.

Thorn never anticipated on finding his mate. Honestly, he had no interest in it at all. Even when his brothers found theirs one by one, Thorn was content to continue on with his hedonist lifestyle. But he never anticipated just how much Kyson would affect him.

Kyson has lived his life craving safety - even to his own detriment. But now, he craves something a little bit different. He craves a little adventure. And who better to give it to him than Thorn?

Where Kyson feels inadequate and insecure, Thorn is there to reassure him and boost his confidence. Kyson's survived a lot of emotional and psychological trauma at the hands of his ex-boyfriend, and Thorn will not let that stand. Not for a moment.

They truly balance each other out really well. Thorn has always lived his life walking the fine line between hedonistic and reckless, and Kyson has always valued safety and security. They find a way to meet in the middle, and find that perfect balance of impulsive, but not stupid. It's the last thing Thorn ever expected to find in his mate, but it's exactly what he's been looking for his eternal life.

The lead up to the finale of this series was a very sweet story, and this makes me think that the finale is gearing up for something huge. There have been hints, and some foreshadowing, so I have a feeling I know where we're going. And the stakes couldn't be higher - not just for the House of Orpheus, but the entire supernatural community of New Onyx as a whole.

I’ve been excited for our hedonist to find the man that would make him fall head over heels!

And fate picked a good one. Kyson seems a little too quiet, good, and unsure to be Thorn’s mate, but that’s part of the fun. Thorn helping Kyson come out of his shell and find who he is after breaking free from people who wanted to dull his shine, is an absolute beautiful thing. I’m also a big fan of possessive vampires, so he’s that going for him too! He’s got total stalker vibes, but he also melts your heart with how patient and caring he is. Constantly promising Kyson he’ll remind him how beautiful he is for the rest of their lives (reminder - vampires live for a lot of years! LOL)

I also really enjoyed that Kyson was older (40 gasp). He’s a lovely guy, content with his life but he also wants some more excitement. And there’s no one better to provide that than Thorn.

"First, we'll indulge in the flesh. Later, we'll indulge in the blood."

It’s hard to believe we are already five books in, but that also means….YVES!!

Fated mates, paranormal romance, vampires, assassins and as always, an HEA. This is the 5th instalment in the Immortal Assassins series, and this time it's the turn of the reluctant Thorn to meet his fated mate. Thorn is the ultimate hedonist playboy, partying all through his long existence and never wanting to settle down until he started seeing his brothers all meeting their fated mates, and started feeling a little left out. Enter Kyson, who's going through a mid-life crisis of sorts and the sparks fly between them. I liked Kyson, he's absolutely happy with most of his life, he loves his job and he has great friends, but unfortunately a d-bag ex who also happens to now be his boss.

I loved the meeting between the two, Kyson is stepping out of his comfort zone, wanting a hookup and Thorn is exactly the right person for that job. Their connection is instant, even though Kyson thinks Thorn is out of his league (he's wrong). I honestly thought Thorn would be way more resistant to meeting his fated mate and settling down, but almost right away he's all in, and it actually worked for the story. I loved how he was with Kyson, always telling him he's perfect as he is, even though Kyson suffers low self-esteem. This was such a lovely story, I also liked the sub-plot about the other supes living in the city because that's all going to tie in to the last story, I think. I loved seeing Ky and Thorn fall for each and be exactly what the other needed. It was far more sweet and warm a story than I expected (and that is not a complaint!)

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

3.5 stars. This story is incredibly sweet. Thorn’s reaction to finding a mate wasn’t what I expected but it does make sense for Thorn. He has an addictive personality, so once he found Kyson he clung to him and became obsessed(not in a bad way). He put him at the center of his universe immediately and they fell right into sync. Kyson was insecure, intelligent and open minded, ready for adventure in his life. Of course I loved their instant connection and how they were complete opposites.

Thorn’s story was the one I was most excited about, and sadly, I found myself disappointed. When I hit the epilogue I was shocked it was over. Thorn’s zesty personality that we all love, fell off the planet, Kyson was nice enough, but he was missing something. Also missing something, the whole story. Very mild and fairly uneventful for our most exciting vampire in Orpheus Tower. I’m just…confused. This story had so much potential but I felt it missed the mark. Now I’m nervous for Yves’s story. Fingers crossed for a great ending to the series.

Thorn, our hedonistic vampire, discovered a new addiction, one he cannot and does not want to recover from. That new addiction is named Kyson, a sweet, shy, big hearted man. A man that cannot see the beauty that Thorn sees in him. Kyson's insecurities were written so respectfully, showing the struggle of low self-esteem and not loving yourself. But little by little Kyson began to quiet those mean voices, the voices of his evil exes. And seeing the reflection of beauty, desire, and love in Thorn's eyes gave him that little push he needed to realize his true self worth and that he deserved much more than what he previously thought. And Thorn's sweet, romantic, and vulnerable side was a little unexpected, but it was exactly what Kyson needed. Also, it didn't hurt that Thorn couldn't keep his hands off Kyson, lol, their chemistry sizzling as soon as they came close to each other.
Now I can't wait for Yves story!! His been searching for his mate for so long but I have a feeling that he's in for a big surprise, which will unbury many past hurts and a .....possible betrayal???

3.5 stars.

This one diverts from the usual formula a little because there's no real conflict, mystery, or drama. Which, for me, made it a little less interesting and not as gripping. Also, Thorn is the one brother that has said he doesn't want a mate. Yet, when it comes to it, he flips really quickly. I actually got frustrated with him at first, because he seduces Kyson really hard and calls him sweet names, and leads him to think there's something special happening. But then, when Kyson says he's falling hard for him (Why wouldn't he be? And why wouldn't he think Thorn is too based on his own actions?), Thorn freaks out. It doesn't last long, but it irritated me just the same.

I am glad that once Thorn knows Kyson is his, there are no other thoughts of him needing such excess in his life to feel fulfilled or balanced. This definitely wasn't my favorite, but also not bad. I did skip Raph's book because I hate the trope, sadly. Looking forward to seeing Yves get his HEA.

This is book 5 in the Immortal Assassins book, and even though it could standalone, I highly recommend you read them from the beginning. Tjorn, as we have seen in the previous books, is a playboy. He has not wanted to settle down and find a mate. The jokes on you Thorn. He is out one night and decides to go to a bar. There he meets Kyson and is so intrigued with him. When Kyson mentioned that he came out, alone, to celebrate his 40th birthday, Thorn celebrated with him. The story starts from there with Thorn, after Yves speaks with him, realizes that Kyson was his mate. I loved the way these two interacted with each other. Kyson learned that he needed to let go of old insecurities and Thorn helping him along the way. I loved this book. I am so looking forward to reading Yves book, even though I am sad that it will be the last one in the series. Great world building, high heat and chemistry.

I've always enjoyed Mia Monroe's books and Thorn Evermore is one of my favorites by far! In this found family of queer vampires, Thorn has always been my favorite side character in the series. I was happy to see him finally get his own book. And these two! I love Kyson so much, perhaps because I relate to him in a lot of ways. He's adorable and geeky and loves history and I love how much he is excited by life when he finally starts to live it. Thorn is just swoony in his overprotective vampiric way and watching him fall hard for this history nerd was so sweet. The joy these two find in each other is just lovely. For me, there was just the right amount of spice balanced with story and character development. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up if you like vampires and MM romances! While this is part of the Immortal Assassins series, it can be read as a standalone, but if you haven't read the other books, I'd recommend starting with the first book.

Evermore

Who doesn’t love a good, dark romance with a broody vampire? Normally, I’d say ME!!! However, Thorn is definitely not broody. He might be an assassin, someone hired to do evil, and he might think he doesn’t want to be locked down and caged to one person his whole life…but deep down he’s just like everyone else, extremely sentimental when it comes to loving the one person fate made just for you.

When Thorn meets sweet, shy Kyson all bets are off. He doesn’t want to admit but at his deepest Thorn is a romantic and his words are soft, flowy, hot, and gives Kyson the love and attention he’s been desperately missing.

I adored both MCs and their thirst for life in all aspects. I loved how Thorn was able to convince Kyson to voice his wants and desires and that last bedroom scene…🔥FIRE🔥!!!

Such a great series and I can not wait to see who Yves gets his HEA with. I agree with all the brothers…Yves deserves to be happy most of all!!

Thorn, my beautiful creature of chaos and hedonism!

I have been fully in love with Thorn since the start of this series. He has been my favourite (I love all the guys, but he has my heart) since the start and I was so, so excited for him finding his perfect person. I know Thorn was always reluctant over the thought of a mate but I just knew he would fall hard and fast and with just as much intensity as he brings to everything else. Kyson was perfect. He was sweet and beautiful and kind. That boy was so kind that he actually believed some of the things Thorn told him (when he was… gently stalking him lol) despite the fact they were kind of unbelievable. I liked that juxtaposition, Thorn in all his hedonism and Kyson in all his sweetness. These two together were on fire! I don’t want to fish too much because I really don’t want to spoil anything for anyone. So, I’ll just say that this was everything I had hoped it would be and more!

Evermore

Ahhh, I love it when the stubborn ones fall. Make it a stubborn, hedonistic vampire and it’s no wonder I’m evermore in love with Thorn!

“Now eat up, gorgeous, so I can eat too. I’m starving, and if you think I’m talking about dinner, you’re not paying attention.”
Something in his tone makes it seem like he intends to actually eat me, and for some reason, I’m fine with that. Death by Thorn sounds like a pretty good way to go out.

100% agreed, Kyson. Thorn could snack on me any day and anywhere. These two are so precious together. The way Thorn sees the true Kyson and adores every part of him fills up my heart with happiness, and the way Kyson finds, and more importantly accepts, himself is beautiful. I so need Yves’s book even more now as the soul of this amazing vampire found family deserves all the love.

“I think you might be the best thing to ever happen to me.”

Wow, I love that book cover! This is book 5 in the Immortal Assassins series by Mia Monroe.

I enjoyed this story it was more laid back than the rest, there wasn't as much violence as the prior books held. Kyson is 40 years old so this may be part of the reason. I just love an older male MC, probably because they are easier to identify with 😉.

I'm so glad that Thorn found his fated mate, I just knew that Mia would pick just the right person for him. Opposites attract was definitely true for this story and I couldn't be happier. Kyson and Thorn offset each other's extremes and fulfilled something that was missing in both of their lives.

Can't wait to see what's in store for Yves, it's all been leading up to this final book.

Our hedonist has met his mate! This book was incredibly sweet, a real gem of the series for me. Thorn and Kyson are so well matched. Due to his hedonistic lifestyle, Thorn was so determined that he did not want to meet his even after seeing his brothers meet theirs one by one in the previous books. He could never imagine ever settling down with one person for the rest of his existence so one would imagine he would fight the connection with Kyson once they met but the exact opposite happened. When he felt just how special a bond with a fated mate was, he threw himself headfirst into wooing Kyson which was so adorable since romance was not one of his strong suits.

I can’t believe there is only one book left and am looking forward to dear sweet Yves finding his mate at last.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
