My husband worked in an ER. The stories are true and universal. The book is easy to read. I recommend it highly if you really want to know what happens in an ER.
1) I can see myself enjoying this book more than once, but I would not buy it as it stands. 2) If you took the English language seriously at any point in your life, you won't enjoy the experience of this book. Too many grammar errors, many word mistakes (than/then and the dreaded there/their). 3) It was difficult to enjoy the fun of some of the chapters about spelling and dictation errors when you are reading similar mistakes in the rest of the text.
There were tons of great stories, but they seemed so short and the stories were not well closed within the chapter with formatting to show easily where the next great story started.
This contains some graphic material which borders on extreme and some which deals with some really weird ethical areas of medicine. I applaud the author for putting the truth out there, but some readers can't handle the truth.
Most of these stories can be found in other books, but if you wish to relax, have a few giggles, and smile, this lovely lady wrote the perfect book. However, if a tad sensitive, a waste can, with some water may be a good idea. (To possibly hork in). Nice job Jama.
I had a fair share of giggles, but some parts were quite repetitive. If you're looking for a quick read and a few laughs this book just might fit the bill for you.
