Such a beautiful end to this amazing story. The final fights were truly fun including the little twist. The author covered the entirety of Rudeus's life and it was truly beautiful and it is heart breaking to know that this is the end of Rudeus's story. My boy really achieved it all and created a peaceful, happy life for the members of his family and he did it with his own two hands.

This fight won't top Rudeus's fight with Orsted but it has a lot more emotional ending. We see how various members of the gang are doing (except Norn and Aisha were totally missing which I think we will read more about in the Redundancy volumes). Maybe we will also get to know more about Ariel and Zanoba and what Orsted was up to after this. I want a lot more of Rudeus with Sylphie, Roxy and Eris and I really wish Redundancy gives me more of that even though I know there's nothing left to tell but just a mention of them would make me happy like how one would when he's reminiscing about an old friend. Maybe a short story or two about Nanahoshi after she returned to Earth and how she's doing would also be lovely. I just really love the characters in this world

The author finally explained the truth behind the displacement incident and I can smell a sequel set in the same world in the future, really hoping he would follow this up and write another story. I did read Orc Eroica but it doesn't hit like MT does (as it should considering the former is a light hearted story but is still super fun to read). I'm all up for knowing more about Lilia or Lyria and Shinohara Akito (He's mentioned in Vol 22 before Nanahoshi returned to her own world, so I'm glad I also got closure on how much truth was involved in her hypothesis about the displacement incident).

I also loved the dossier on Rudeus, I really hope other fantasy LNs copy this as I really loved reading what the world thought about him and his life. It felt very nostalgic reading through the dossier describing various events of Rudeus's life.

I would love to see Studio Bind finish animating all the 26 volumes of Mushoku Tensei. Maybe Redundancy as well though that might be asking for too much as MT would need to sell insanely for that to get an anime adaptation. Mushoku Tensei will always one of my favorite light novel series.

I thank God and the universe, because I am still given a long life to be able to read this masterpiece until it is completely finished.

This book has become a part of my life.

*of course just ignore the fantasy part and don't put it into real life.

My god the story was a phenomenal trip, had amazing pacing throughout and did the isekai trope right. You can see and feel Redues’ growth throughout the story and really makes you come to love him and understand how he feels in different parts of the story. And the ending had me choked up a bit as it really hit hard that it was finally over and you can feel the satisfaction of not only a great story ending but also as Rudeus felt during his final moments in life.

Beautiful

This ended up being a beautiful end to a beautiful story. Clear resolution was provided, enough that I don't feel the need to start the next series unless I want more from the universe of Mushoku Tensei. Reading the final volume left me with such a complete feeling.

MT 26 was a bit short to be honest, but overall a decent ending to a long running series. Rudeus gets to finish the big fight. Still, it is a slice-of-life story, so it does feel a bit abrupt, more like the ending of an arc than the actual story. Life after all continues. Mind you, that is what I expected. The author never hid the fact that Rudeus would not be the one to defeat the Man God. The after stories are a bit sappy for my taste and I could have done without them. Then again, without those there would be no ending. So yeah, a good read, and I am curious if we ever get the second story about Rudeus' daughter and the final conflict with the Man God...

The end of one of the greatest works in anime fiction. I was skeptical on how they'd wrap everything up in a single volume without it being rushed, but it was pulled off fairly well. I didn't feel anything was rushed too much, but rather circumvented in a reasonable way. The fight with Badi was very full, and with the added surprise of the North God III donning the armor, but only getting obliterated by my favorite character Orsted. Man, he's remarkable. He's just so much stronger than anyone on the planet it's near baffling, with the caveat that he has limited mana to before he has to reset timelines. And the way he grew soft and even called his subordinates friends at the end, I couldn't help but grin like an idiot. He was there for Rudy, even at his deathbed. Rudy's legacy was wrapped up very nicely, he did everything he sought out to do, and passed away happily. It's bittersweet, but the best way to end it. Man-God continues to be a piece of work even at the end, and it sucks a bit that we don't know how that fight turned out, but it doesn't really matter at this point. Rudy has finished his story. We even got that final sprinkle of deeplore behind the teleportation disaster and the reason Rudy got isekai'd. pretty neat, how it was the work of a Blessed Child that hasn't even been born yet, and why they cannot return to their own world -- the final guy hadn't been teleported yet, and some inner workings of the world won't allow anyone to leave until he does. Regardless, a series that I'll deeply miss and look back to all my life.

A wonderful ending to a fantastic series, despite a deliberate decision to leave many plotlines left open for a potential future successor series.

But that's just how life goes, innit? It goes on, with or without us. Things continue beyond us, and some endeavors are just larger than ourselves, and we leave them for the people who come after to continue and eventually finish.

Which is not to say that the ending presented here will appeal to everyone. It took me a while to come around to it, too, after dreading the last couple of volumes just how it'd be possible to wrap up all the open questions... before realizing that it was never going to, because this is the story of the life of Rudeus Greyrat, not the saga of this grand war or that mythical character with a millennia-long lifespan. It's the story of a man carrying on through adversity, coming into his own and living life to the fullest.

...that being said, I'm desperate for the author to write/publish that sequel series, which is supposedly not happening before the anime adaptation is fully broadcast. I'd very much like to go back to this setting and see the legacies unfold.

Next stop: Redundant Reincarnation for the after stories!

The most fun I've had reading a book series. Rudeus' character journey was masterfully done. The world-building and magic system are some of the best I've read in the genre. The author's overall handling of characters was excellent as well. He did a great job of representing what kind of challenges people in a fantastical setting would face and the kind of mentality needed to overcome them. If I ever come back to the series it will be for the characters and their interpersonal relationships. I could have used another 3 volumes of slice of life though.

The author kind of stumbled to the ending in these last 3 volumes, my least favorite of the series. However, he ended it on a wonderful note. "The Final Dream" is one of Mushoku Tensei's strongest chapters that I will be thinking back on for a while.

Volume 12 and 15 were the best in my opinion, with Volume 12 being my favorite book from a pure enjoyment perspective as of writing this review.

I never thought I'd have a closure as perfect as this one, honestly stories usually end at a point in the life of the characters and that's it... but we went a little beyond with Rudeus, and I appreciated it. It was nice to know how he ended up living the rest of his days, and I'm really happy with how things with the Man-God ended (I really don't like him).
But the whole serie finally makes sense, I've been told ever since I started this that it was actually a prequel more than the actual story and it never made sense. But then we get to Nanahoshi, we get to her crazy conspiracy theories which are picked up again at the end of this book and suddenly... well suddenly you realise you are truly reading a prequel. The real problem and other battles have not happened yet and will come later... so I guess that is what the second Arc will tell us. And honestly I can't wait. This far more convoluted that I gave it credit in the end, and it really has me curious.

I was getting through these books so quickly and got too lazy to properly review the last couple volumes so this is me reviewing the series as a whole.

I don’t think it will be shocking to the three (3) people that follow me to say that I love this series. Following Rudy from birth to death is such a good idea and it’s made even better considering how horrible of a person that he was in his previous life. You get to watch him grow up and continue making mistakes but still moving forward and by the end of the series, you’ve seen him evolve into a good person. That’s not to say it’s a perfect series by any means but I was able to ignore the worst stuff.

Overall a 10/10 series as long as you can overlook the weird shit.

Amazing end
im speechless few works dare to show the end of all and instead tend to linger in that ever after cliche
it was quite refreshing to read this
though Im still mad they didnt show the fate or details of some characters that were named, I wanted to know their history how it happened and how it ended but i guess its the story of rudeus greyrat not his family/friends
Also it was a nice detail they finally showed us the origin of the displacement incident

im quite eager to see what the "redudant reincarnation" serie has to offer
but for now this series has won a place in my heart

And so it’s finally over… of course I balled my eyes out. Did it end with me wanting to know more lore and WHY stuff happened? Sure, but ultimately that’s the author’s main point. You live life trying your best and with no regrets despite not accomplishing everything you want. Literally directly mentioned. And so in keeping with that central theme some stuff is left out. It’s crazy seeing the impact Rudeus had on future generations and all the stuff he did.

I do really wish we got to see Nanahoshi wake up and reunite or at least learn what the hell the man god is, but maybe that’s in future works? Idk still glad I read this light novel. Can’t wait for the anime to catch up XD

I’ve been reading this series for almost a year now. My life has changed a lot in this time, but these books were constant in the nights, when I listened to the audiobooks before sleeping. The story has its flaws, rudeus  can be infuriating sometimes, and I think it would have been better if he was less pervy, but overall, the fantasy side of the story was really entertaining. The world feels fleshed out, and the characters are mostly likable. I really enjoyed the twists and turns that Rudeus goes through, and the ending left me quite satisfied. I am grateful for the companionship that these novels gave me. It wasn’t the best I have ever read, but it definitely was a good time!

Overall one of my favorite isekei I have had the pleasure of reading. At the end had me choking back tears as I finished it. Shows a great progression throughout the series as Rudy grows up. I can see why many people have trouble with Rudy in the beginning but he does grow through. For sure a must read if you love the isekei genre.

When one finishes a large series they enjoy it is full of moments of pure happiness. I thoroughly enjoy this masterpiece. The author set out to do what he intended and if he so chose could have left the story here.

While short, I thought this was a pretty satisfactory conclusion for the main series. Looks like we will get additional spin-off or sequel volumes, so I'll look forward to that.
