This boxed set has probably been on my 'currently reading' shelf for quite a while. Library books always take preference due to due dates. I think it was at the 85th position. I am trying to read the earliest between the newest and borrowed books. It's a work in progress.
This set is so fun. Each book could hold its own, but I think it is more fun to binge-read them all. Think of it as a long book. Still, it didn't take me long to get through.
I think the best part of these books is the characters. A ghost vampire, an owl familiar, a fallen angel, and a witch who didn't know she was a magical being. But there are others, like her gorgan receptionist.
By the way, this is free with Kindle Unlimited. Text-to-speech works well with this set. We all need a little levity. Here's a fun adventure to lift the mood.
This was a great series. I thourghly enjoyed it. the characters are very well developed and fun. All the books flowed together with added stories in each one. Sometimes the endings were hard and other times nof. I like.the cleanliness of the books. You don't need x rated wiring to make interesting books. Thanks Annabe!!
This is a fun romp through the paranormal world, finding that the residents of this locked in village are not so different than those the human world. With oddball residents, snarky familiars, love possibilities at every turn, and a group of loyal new friends, our heroine drifts from one mystery to another. Always seeking justice for the underdog, she diligently follows her heart and her gut instincts to solve crimes among the paranormal residents while remaining honest, respectful and kind (whether they deserve it or not!)
I have enjoyed the journey throughout this set of stories and look forward to reading the next set. You give your readers a journey throughout each and every book.thank You for the journey and I Lookforwed to the next.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁from a bookworm
Normally I write reviews for each individual book in the series rather than the series as a whole, but I feel this series is hard to review on a book-by-book basis. First of all, the overarching plot is much more important than the mysteries in each book, so if you're here for the mystery part of cozy mystery you may end up disappointed. However, cozy mystery is almost always character focused rather than plot focused, and that's definitely the case here. Almost all of the characters were wonderful and lovely, very wholesome. There's a few "villains" that were very one-dimensional and could use more depth. There's a few major plot twists throughout the series, though you may see them coming or have a gut feeling, they were interesting enough to keep the series fresh and the plot moving forward. My only complaints would be that while the series is very fun and cozy, it doesn't really excell at anything either. It's a fun read but not like "wow amazing" at any point. Which is a very big commitment for 2000 pages. My biggest complaint however is about Emma herself. She's the most one-dimensional one of all. She's such a selfless goody-two-shoes it makes her incredibly boring. No one is that selfless and I fail to see how every character in the town seems to adore her. I think this series had a lot of potential but it's hard to be really emotionally invested when the main character is as bland as cardboard.
I am guessing that this ten books only counts as one for Kindle unlimited Awards or recognition. And, my health and vision are going downhill swiftly... I used to be a quite prolific reader. I have to be more selective now. I came too close to reading my last book a few weeks ago, in fact. But these adventures in loving & living , & starting over, of making a go of it and of laughing when things don't go nearly as planned, of trying to make it all better wherever we can, these are how I have tried to live & give since the first diagnosis. These folks are maybe fiction. But for me, they are my miraculous friends, family. Miracles, the love of my life, & so much more. Thank you for reminding me of too many blessings to count.
A wonderful collection of all the Spellbound novels. We follow Emma Hart, a lawyer who stumbles into the magical town of Spellbound, and realizes she can't leave because, surprise, she's a paranormal! The mysteries in this series are delightful and whimsical, with many nods to familiar paranormal types, such as witches, fairies, vampires, werewolves, centaurs, dwarves, gnomes, gorgons, and many more. Annabel Chase has a bright writing style that draws you in and makes you feel like you live right in the town with her characters. I highly recommend this series and have re-read it more than once.
While lost Emma sees a "man" on a cliff and trying to stop him she finds herself trapped inside an ancient protected bubble where no paranormal person can leave. Since she was raised human she had to learn about the inhabitants from scratch. Interesting story with some very interesting characters most seem to like Emma after not having outside visitors in generations. Some dislike her on sight. Finding out who is faking it is a long hard road. I enjoyed the series it was a Good Read.
Lots of wacky but sweet characters, plenty of romance, a few murders and a savvy new witch who stumbles a little but eventually pieces the clues together to solve the crimes. Emma Hart finds herself stranded in a magical town, learning magic, ruffling a few feathers, and attracting the attention of the single males while trying to adjust to her new reality.
There is a lot going on, including how to break the curse. However, the mysteries were good.
I really enjoyed the 10 book box set. If your intopatanormal fantasy you'll love it too! The characters are funny and smart. This is about a paranormal town locked in a bubble by a witch. Emma, who has no idea she is a sorceress becomes trapped when she sees a man about to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff. She begins to build her life in this new place and has to overcome many obstacles.
This series features Emma a human that tries to save a person about to jump and ends up being rescued herself and in turn she gets pulled into Spellbound and so begins her adventures there and her learning about herself!
I love Ms. Chase’s work, is funny, touching and very clever. This box set will keep you reading from one book to the next! Addicting for sure, as are her other series.
I love all of Annabelle’s work. But more proofreading and editing should be done when using AI as a tool to write. Characters’ names and personal details end up getting mismatched or changed at random times and when referencing prior events in the books, details get mixed up or forgotten. Daniel is probably the only part of the storyline I don’t like along with Emma’s obsession with him.
Lots of great characters in this series for offshoots
I had such a difficult time reading this book. First, it is 1961 pages long, and I don’t like putting down books if I don’t have to. Secondly, I neglected my husband, our pets, my friends, my book club, and preparing new meals so that I could keep on reading this delightfully delightful book. I finished it in about two or three weeks. The characters were so lovable and so imaginative. I loved learning about new paranormals. I loved that so many characters in Spellbound found redemption or forgiveness. Now I have to figure out a way to get there and meet all of these wonderful beings!
I really enjoyed reading this series!! I liked that there was a large array of paranormals, and that the heroine had a relationship with all of them. The mysteries were part of the story overall, and everything meshed together. The author writes in a smooth, flowing manner. It was one of the better series that I have read in a long time!!
Books 1-10 have loads of humor, loads of angst, murders, mystery, love, despair, making new friends and enemies, tons of magic, and scads of different paranormals. Our heroine knew nothing of the paranormal world until she literally drops into it and can't get out. Highly entertaining series.
I really enjoyed this set of books. Took a little while to "get into it", but once I did I couldn't stop. It was such fun, so clever, such great imagery, so very witty, with lots of euphemism & references to pop culture etc. A great fun, entertaining read, light hearted, magical read.
Each of the stories an adventure in it's self. The character were the same but each book brought out a different character to shine on there own. The plot for each story added a new challenge for Emma to solve with the help of her friends. The ending was a real tear jerker. Wonderful stories and an enjoyable time spent reading them. Thank you.
The first couple books were the best, because they had laugh out loud humour woven throughout. The rest of the books were fun too, but with fewer and fewer laughs as they went on. There was a wonderful blend of mysteries and romances, along with a really surprising plot twist near the end.
I thoroughly enjoyed this series, & I'm glad I got the boxed set. Emma stumbling into Spellbound turns out to be the best thing to happen to her! I love that each book has its own mystery to be solved while heading toward answers to the bigger mystery. It all wraps up nicely in the end, & I was relieved to see there's a follow-up series.
Emma is a remarkable character with curiosity, determination and heart that you can't help but admire. You will cheer her on at every unbelievable situation she finds herself in. I recommend this to all in need of a emotional roller coaster with a surprise but satisfying ending.
This series is amazing! A must read. If you can only choose one box set then this is the one to choose. I just wish it was a running series with no end. Like Children of the Gods. There's always a new book being written to add to the fun and life and times of Spellbound and the characters within.
Filled with amazing yet relatable characters, and beautifully written, this Spellbound box set ends on a completely satisfying note that leaves the reader eager for the subsequent books.
Loved the overall series, although the last kidnapping was a bit of a letdown. Everything else seemed well thoughtout and planned but the last kidnapping seemed almost like an afterthought to toe up loose ends.
If you want to read a very fun loving enjoyable books. This book has it all love laugher murder and mystery . read as Emma just happen to be were she needs to be with her big heart in tow.
I enjoyed reading this story. Everything worked out in the end. But what happened to the glitter?????????.Recommended to all who enjoy supernatural drama.
I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters....the storyline kept moving at a steady pace, with laughable and entertaining entanglements! Thanks, I am looking forward to even more adventures with the "remedial" witches....lolol!!!
The plot lines evolve in each book, they are suspenseful. I would pause to enjoy the anticipation of whatever would happen next. The characters are relatable and interesting.
A sorceress that doesn’t know that she is magical, a fallen angel and a town cursed. Emma charms the town while acting as a public defender and learning magic. Can she break the curse?
I finally finished all 10, being able to download them for free on my Amazon Kindle! Lots of twist and turns, laughs, murder mysteries that really kept you wondering until almost the end. I can’t wait to start the next series, what a fun read!
