I’ve been giving a lot of NTMAs a try this holiday season so when I saw this cover + the title I knew at the very least I had a holiday book. 🗣️DID NOT!! 🥴😩
The story actually started out really well and I liked the premise of the story but things started to go awry as the story progressed. I didn’t understand how Mia could jump bad with her ex when SHE’S the one that called him begging for help with her rent. That man wasn’t bothering her. Then all of a sudden she didn’t need him when they were at the cafe. 😐
I understand you want to do nice things for family around the holidays but she should’ve been more focused on paying her bills and not trying to get gifts. Preston had trust issues based off his past but seemed to have fallen fast with Mia. That didn’t seem realistic to me.
I’m glad she was able to advocate for herself when it came to negotiating the design deal but she was in no position to be picky. She felt a way because the guy doubled back but she was the one late to their initial meeting. Time is money!
The book had potential but ultimately missed the mark and once again there were only sprinkles of Christmas. The inside didn’t match the cover at all.
Preston and Mia met, during a snowstorm when he towed her car to his shop. He hired her to redesign his show room. Mia kept saying she wanted to be more financially independent, yet Preston overheard Mia asking her domineering ex-boyfriend for rent money. So of course, Preston is angry. Is this brand new relationship dead in the water?
Really sweet story and fully fledged characters but way too much business talk. Would’ve liked more development and interaction between Preston and Mia. Also I would like a Preston for myself plz & ty
I used to be a big fan of romantic comedies when I was younger, but over time, I found that many of the newer movies were missing the classic, authentic love stories that I cherished from the past. However, this book, though not a comedy, was a dope love story. The writing was phenomenal, with vivid descriptions that made me feel like I was watching a movie in my mind. It was beyond good; it was fantastic! I'm eager to delve into more stories like this! Also, it was nice because it felt authentically black and genuine.
Cute story set during the winter season but not quite a holiday romance. There’s also little to no spice so if you’re looking for something sweet and slightly holiday themed, this is a great choice. The book seems to need a bit of editing and tightening up on the prose, but it did not detract from the story. I had a couple of nits: She borrowed money from her ex to pay her rent, but then had the nerve to be snippy when the client came back and wanted to hire her. That was not a time for a pride and making demands. If I was the man on the other end of that phone, I would’ve hung up and found another designer because she was doing too much. Preston jumped to a lot of conclusions, and there seem to be a little bit of a miscommunication trope, which I don’t usually mind. This one just seemed very silly. He was way more emotional and bothered than I feel a typical man would be and he was honestly quite petty. This book ended well and gives a lift to the spirit.

Mia has no idea her misfortune with her car will lead to her meeting the love of her life . All Mia wanted was help with her faulty car but fate had another plan in mind Preston the owner of the only available towing company in Brooklyn comes to Mia’s aid but after interacting with her , she unlocks feels that he has kept hidden for a long time . He never has luck with love but will he be able to trust Mia with his heart or is she like every other girl he has met whose interest is only in the money the man makes and can share with them ? Read this cute novella to find out !
This was a quick ok read. I didn’t really feel an instant connection between Preston and Mia but I liked them together. I didn’t understand how he got mad at her when they never talked about a relationship or we t on an official date. That part was a little confusing but other then that I enjoyed it
A very sweet holiday novella where Mia and Preston's chance encounter leads to something much deeper. A misunderstanding almost led to a complete breakdown but fate intervened and all was well to a fresh start. This is my first read by this author and I absolutely loved it!
This was a sweet romance. A Christmas romance that keeps your attention. Preston and Mia meet at a bit so good time but then ended up hitting it off. Though some insecurities are present these two just have to work through them.
Awesome little love story of a beauitful mixture of race, culture and class. Love that their love story is set in Brooklyn but still has all the feels of a small town Christmas ...with all the trimmings. All's well that ends well and Mia and Preston's story certainly ends beautifully !!!
I enjoyed this very cute novella!! Loved the FMC and MMC in the story and would love to see more about the characters development and relationship. Overall fate along with the joy of Christmas made this a sweet romance.
Mia Reyes is an interior designer down on her luck when her car broke down on the way to interview a potential client, a tow truck pulls up to her heart. A cure Christmas novella with all the Feels.
What a great read. I love Preston and Mia. I love how they connected upon meeting but had true friends/family in their life to give advice and guidance in not allow their past to interfere with their future. I felt connected to not only the relationship but them both being an entrepreneur. Great story to enjoy on Christmas Day. I look forward to more from the author and the love of this couple and others! Highly recommend
