Captured in Surrender
This is a story about one of Cooper's deputies so is a story that is very loosely connected to the MacKenzies, but is a standalone and can be read separate from the series.
Bounty Hunter Naya Blade never thought she'd step foot in Surrender, Montana again. Especially since there was a warrant out for her arrest. But when her skip ends up in the normally peaceful town, she has no choice but to go after him to claim her reward. Even at the cost of running into the cop that makes her blood run hot and her sense of self-preservation run cold.
Deputy Lane Greyson wants to see Naya in handcuffs, but he'd much prefer them attached to his bed instead of in a cold jail cell. She drove him crazy once before and then drove right out of town, leaving havoc in her wake. He's determined to help her hunt down the bad guy so he can claim his own bounty—her.

Not bad. Much better than the previous books.
Captured in Surrender was a fun little romantic novella between Naya and Lane. Both were likable and the steam/sparks were there. It wasn't hard to see things about to get heated between them because of their little past. They were kind of cute and it's probably why I enjoyed this novella. Might even dive more into the MacKenzie family just in case I get more steaminess.

Captured in Surrender is a novella by Liliana Hart and is the third novella in the 1,001 Dark Nights Series as well as connected to her MacKenzies Series. I have read, and loved, a few of Liliana’s other works and was so excited to read this novella. Well, from start to finish this story was deliciously fantastic!
Hot on the trail of her latest fugitive, bounty hunter Naya Blade can’t believe her luck and that’s she ended up back in Surrender. A town she never wanted to see again. Sure, the whole bar fight and trouble her brother had gotten her involved in and subsequent arrest warrant had something to do with it, but the bigger problem was Lane Greyson. Lane, the hot, sexy, strong and silent Sheriff’s Deputy. The fling she had with him last time she was in this town had stayed with her far too long. Longer than it should have and it scared the hell out of her. She couldn’t afford to get involved with a guy, especially a guy who had the potential to steal her heart…like Lane did.
Deputy Lane Greyson can’t believe she is back. He couldn’t get Naya out of his mind since her last whirlwind visit to Surrender and now that she was back, he knew he was in trouble. There was no way he would let her get away again. She was the second good thing he’s been able to find since leaving the army. The first being the town of Surrender itself. First order of business though was to get her arrest warrant taken care of and while he had her in handcuffs he planned on showing her exactly how much she’s affected him since she left…
Both hurt by loss in their pasts will end up bringing Lane and Naya closer than they had thought possible and will solidify their attraction…but will it be enough to build a real relationship on?
Holy yum, Batman! This novella was beyond smoking hot! The sexual tension between Lane and Naya was palpable from their very first encounter in this story and just got better (and hotter) from there. Lane has been somewhat of a loner and lives a very simple life in Surrender but wants Naya with a passion that I could feel and I loved that about him. He isn’t going to let her get away and the convincing he does to get her to stay is pretty amazing. Naya is a strong gal with a take no prisoners attitude but she’s not too stubborn to realize that Lane is pretty special. They end up working really well together in more ways then one and I really enjoyed their story! Oh, and did I mention it was SMOKING HOT? Man, the jail cell scene has me fanning myself while I’m typing this….
So, if you’re looking for strong characters with some action and plenty of heat, this is a story for you! Liliana fans will love this addition and if you haven’t read any of her work, this is a great place to get a taste! Thank you, Liliana, for an amazing story!

Naya and Lane met a year prior when Naya's brother came to town. She followed the brother to take him back with her so he could go to trial. Naya is an ex-cop turned bounty hunter. Lane is ex-military turned small town cop. Even though I hadn't read any of the previous books in this series, I didn't need to. There was enough here that I was able to jump right in. I liked both Naya and Lane, there's conversation (and hot sex) with the right amount of conflict.

Quick sexy read. Naya Blade is a tough motorcycle riding bounty hunter who's come back to the small town of Surrender skip tracing a fugitive. She's hoping to avoid a certain Deputy who she left in a compromising position a year before. But as luck would have it that Deputy knows the minute she arrives in town and immediatly arrests her. Even though it was short we still got a bit of background on these two, his from his time as an Army Ranger and her's from when she was a police officer. Their past left them with plenty of scars and Naya's still make her want to run far from Lane. Can he convince her to stay??

says can be read stand-alone, but i felt like i was missing something in the history between the 2 main characters - so i need to figure out which book they appear in - also everything moved too quick - it needed a bit more story development - but it was hot (as was expected from Hart)

A nice short, steamy read…
Naya Blade is a bounty hunter who rides her motorcycle into Surrender, Montana chasing after a very dangerous fugitive who skipped his bail. She’s one tough sexy lady, an ex-cop. It’s been a year since she was last in this town and she left under a bit of a cloud. She has thought of this town or rather the unforgettable man that she left here, a man that turned her inside out and she’s hoping that she can avoid him this time for he made her feel things she wasn’t ready to deal with.
Lane Greyson became a deputy in Surrender, Montana after leaving the service, a former Army Ranger. He is the man Naya left in a rather compromising situation a year ago. He has never stopped thinking about her and now that she is back he wants payback and the opportunity for more. An outstanding arrest warrant puts her in his handcuffs, exactly where he wants her. He’s determined to assist her in finding the skip just to spend time with her, get some answers and convince her that she is his.
This was a nice short, steamy read with an interesting storyline that captured your attention from the beginning and kept it. It’s nice to read a story with both a strong hero and heroine. The dialogue was playful at times and the sex scenes steamy, there was no denying the chemistry between them. The characters were well developed and there is emotional depth to them. They both have scars and can understand each other. This story is novella length with some of the MacKenzie characters appearing. It was good revisiting with them again. The ending though was abrupt leaving you wanting more and this reader would have loved an epilogue to see how these two fared a few months into the future.

As always this is just to let you know before reading my review that I write my reviews as I am reading so I don’t forget anything I wanted to say. So please keep that in mind when you reading this and if it seems like I am making any guesses as to what MIGHT happen this is why.
Oh man Naya’s interactions with Cooper are killing me…not to mention how she interacts.
Now Lane should have seen that coming…she is a bounty hunter for crying out loud, of course she knows how to get out of handcuffs without so much as a movement to give it away…
Lane is in for a whirl of trouble in this novella.
Naya is a spitfire…I really like her character, she’s a no nonsense, no games type of person. I think I know how this story is going to end…I’m 60% through it right now but I have a feeling as to the outcome and I’m usually right with my gut feeling.
Lane was definitely wrong to look at her file BUT she should have expected that he already had from her being there previously and honestly I’m surprised he hadn’t already.
So after finishing this it was pretty good novella…though I was expecting more of a chase where Coltraine was concerned. The whole chase Naya was on with her skip was kind of a letdown…I was hoping I guess for a little more suspense where that story line was concerned.
Other than that the rest of this story was great…the banter between Naya and Lane was hilarious then you throw in Cooper’s smart-assed comments in the mix and it turned out to be a very funny read.

I just finished reading Captured in Surrender, I fell in love with Lane and Naya, I believe they will be good together. Are we going to hear more about the couple? I can't imagine meeting someone briefly, and that person leaving you but you not moving on, and then a year later that person comes back and you know it immediately, I call that true love. It must be hard to think you can't love somebody because if you do that person will be taken away from you, well for now it looks like Naya is going to give in for love. I have read several books by Liliana and I have loved them all, keep up the great work, I want to read more about Surrender.

It's worth the read for a novella
The story includes snippets of the MacKenzie ' s (which is always a very good thing ;)) but it's centered around deputy Lane and bounty hunter Naya. They rekindle feelings from their initial meeting one year earlier and it's a steamy ride.
The story was interesting, sexy and engaging like all of Hart's books.

Definitely for mature readers only.
I have never made a secret of my love for the MacKenzies. What may have started off as a small family series has grown into a phenomenon and yet again, she does not disappoint. These men - even those who are adopted into the family by osmosis or association seem to be hot and desirous and loyal and lustful...why did I never cross paths with the likes of them???
A pleasant interlude while waiting for the next novel and definitely a fabulous addition to the 1001 Dark Nights series.

Short read didn't enjoy it as much as the other books in this series. I seemed to have skipped over a book or two missing some of the back storyline. But it said it was a stand alone book and could be read out of order. I felt like something was missing now I have to go back read the others and maybe read this one to see if it makes more sense. ( maybe not the greatest choice of words or description)

There is nothing this lady can't write that I don't love this is another brilliant mackensie family book its based around lane who is Cooper mackensies deputy and naya the hot bounty hunter as passions Ignite it get steamy an panty melting between them during a Storm this One has one off the sexiest scenes I've read so good an amazing 5 star for mrs hart brilliant can't wait for her next book.

I love the Mackenzie series. I loved the plot idea of this novella but I felt like Liliana could of wrote more on the characters and the story. in fact it almost felt like she did but then had to cut a lot out order to make it into the novella. overall Liliana did not disappoint and I can't wait to read more about this community.

Even for a novella you get a sense of H/h and a glance of their history and background.
There aren't many author's who can pull a long continuing series, and keep it fresh, interesting, and original.
Liliana Hart manages this again and again.

This was one hot and sexy book. It's set in Surrender, but other than a few moments with Cooper, it is all dedicated to Deputy Lane Greysen and skip tracer Naya Blade. They have unfinished business from the past to clear up. It is a wonderful love story, that you are sure to enjoy.

Lillian Hart writes a mean love scene and this short story is just another of example her story telling, too. I wish it had been longer but I will take whatever Hart writes, short or long. Recommended, of course. Even in this short story the characters are well written and interesting..

I like Naya quite a bit and Lane Greyson even more. This is a quick read but Lilana Hart, as is her style, gets the action going from the first page. I have to say I'd be all in if these two had a full length story. I also like being in Surrender for her MacKenzie stories, every installment we get a little bit more of the town. Another steamy read from Liliana Hart. Just like I like them!

The new short story in the series of 1001 nights was a great short story. It was hot, steamy, sexy and a quick read. I loved the characters and the plot. These novella's are just hard to get use to because they are so short. I always want more once I get close to the end. Other than that these are great!

Good, don't remember how they met though, maybe I haven't read that book or something. Short read straight to the point not much to Lane and Naya seeing they'd met a year earlier. She came into town looking for a criminal who skipped bail. They reconnected went to find the guy and it's over. Hopefully we can get back to the action in the next ones.
