Hey Goodreads Family,
Time for another BOOK REVIEW!

Possessed
Author: Shafeeda. T
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐️💫
Genre: Horror, Thriller
Recommendation: Give it a read, you won't be disappointed.

👻 Horror is not my go to genre but this book really made me think again.
In Possessed, the author narrates the story of a girl named Aisha, lately acting differently, always lost in herself, but what's that making her uncomfortable?

Something is definitely wrong, Aisha is seeing a black figure, footsteps, blood and is hearing loud screams.

👻 The starting of the story got me hooked, the simple writing made me read more and more. At the later stage, the character felt so real that I'm myself witnessing the whole scene.

We always try to explore the unknown and here Aisha does the same, she never expresses that she is disturbed, but the happenings just don't let it hide.

👻 The author has smartly written everything, short chapters, simple writing, a normal family. At the start, no typical old house, graveyard stuff. I appreciate when the horror stories are everything other than these typical topics and this was something really different.

The description of Aisha's friends, family members was so on point, the trips they planned, Aisha's scene description when she is alone. Fathima, Aisha's Mother, being one of the character that I was looking forward to see more involved.

👻 If you are into horror books, you surely want to pick this one, didn't like the ending a lot, multiple reasons, the last part of the book was just Okay as compared to the maximum part which was amazing.

This book is perfectly spooky, creepy at times which just makes it better and gets reader hooked! It's definitely gripping, so just go and order this. Live the life of Aisha and let me know how you felt it.

This is a multi layered novel.Psychological Thriller with elements of horror and paranormal activity.
Here we meet Aisha, who finds herself plagued by a sinister presence. She grows more terrified as the presence intensifies. Each episode right from the beginning gave me goosebumps.

Is someone really there?or is she Hallucinating ?
Well you will have to read to find out.

I was amazed by the way author has built a suspenseful plot-driven story.I reckon this gave the horror flavour.A very well researched and aptly graded for readers.
It was interesting to read how all the aspects amalgamated .

💫Endings, is that what makes a story great? In life, we all do want the one which makes us feel at peace and happy. But what about the books? I have never thought about it either. However, books with incomplete and unsatisfied endings pulls me towards it. And thats how this book dug a space in my heart.

Even when 5 pages were left to finish the book, I was optimistic that Aisha will be freed from the darkness and have her wish, finally. It did not happen that way. Whether to feel resentment or content towards the author's writing is still being figured, but there is no doubt that I would never forget her, Aisha. Aisha, who initially seemed weird ,is one the strong female characters I've ever come across. She endured as if she doesn't know what the word threshold means. But does enduring your pain while concealing it makes one strong ? Perhaps .

I would like to break it down for those who are unaware of this book by an amazing Indian writer Shafeeda .
Aisha is possessed which was not clear at the beginning to any of her family members but, after witnessing unnatural incidents occuring in their house (especially kitchen) it was confirmed by the Ustaad. When they met Ustaad , I was so sure that everything will be fine from the next moment . It did not, although the events started to abate.

At start , the story was not spooky enough , maybe due to the slow paced writing. But after reading the epilogue (the best part of the book) , it would be fair to say that reading about a slow paced life is better than living one( like Aisha's).

"Possessed" is a riveting psychological thriller that plunges readers into a world of terror, and black magic. Through the eyes of Aisha, the youngest member of her family, we're drawn into a chilling tale where her hesitance to voice her fears only adds to the palpable tension. From the outset, bizarre dreams and unsettling stares set the stage for a series of spine-tingling events that keep readers on edge.

Each chapter of "Possessed" delivers a fresh wave of goosebumps as Aisha's encounters with dark forces escalate. With each turn of the page, the suspense intensifies, fueled by the revelation that a relative's dabbling in black magic has invited malevolent spirits into their midst. Despite the author's deliberate ambiguity regarding Aisha's actions while possessed, the narrative remains irresistibly gripping, leaving readers craving resolution.

Overall, "Possessed" is a masterful blend of psychological intrigue and supernatural horror. From its interconnected chapters to its haunting atmosphere, this book captivates from start to finish. For those who dare to uncover Aisha's fate, "Possessed" is a must-read that promises thrills and chills until the very end.
