I thought being the maid of honor for my best friend's wedding was crazy enough - until the best man showed up.
Kyle Monroe. My best friend’s brother and my ex.With his room next to mine, there’s no avoiding him.
Those eyes, that smile, that dimple….ugh.Looks like my bestie is meddling again…she always did love me and Kyle together.
So did I, until he ripped my heart out and tore it to shreds.
Now four little words have turned my world upside down.
I still love you.
My heart does gymnastics, while my stomach drops to the floor.Every fiber of my being wants to believe him, but doubt grips me.
I can’t trust him.
I definitely can’t trust my heart.
But what if a second chance with my bad boy ex means a love I never dreamed possible?

Short summary - Andrea and Kyle dated back in the day. Their best friends are now marrying each other and they are in the same place for two weeks. He tells her that he still loves her, and we get to see them making up and getting back together.
Andrea brings her dog, Axel, on the trip and early in the book he is missing. Kyle of course rushes to help her find him, and they do fairly quickly. They take him to the vet and make sure that he’s good to go, but he just drops her off to go run an errand. Andrea seemed a little perplexed by that and I think it was adorable that she really just wanted him with her.
The much anticipated I love you from Kyle comes at 72%. This book is short, sitting at 249 pages. I’m a little confused with the fact that Andrea still carries a photo in a frame of the two of them, that’s not normal if you’re as mad at someone as she was in the beginning of this book.
My favorite part of this book has to be the fact that Kyle paid for Axel to come to the wedding and bought a tuxedo for him.
Overall this book was okay. It fell flat for me though and I wished that it would have been able to be fleshed out a little more than it was. Addiction is a theme in this book that I wish would have been talked about more between our FMC & MMC.

Enemies to lovers is probably one of my favorite tropes (along with grumpy/sunshine), and this book had both! Grumpy and sunshine weren't who you would think though!
Ugh the one part that just pulled at the heart strings - you were the hurricane who reshaped her entire world.
That line was absolutely beautiful, powerful, and honestly, something that I could relate to with my past too, except he didn't get a second chance.
This was such a light and easy read.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for my DRC in exchange for my honest review.
Andrea is a writer, struggling to produce another romance with a HEA ever since she broke up 2 years ago with the man she loved. Kyle Monroe meant the world to her. He is her best friend’s brother who simply broke up with her for no reason. It still hurts. His is the face she sees as soon as she starts to write; it triggers her writer’s block, and she is dangerously close to missing her deadline already. Right then, her best friend Tina phones to give her some news about her wedding in 2 weeks. She and Adam have decided to fly the bridal party to Georgia to stay at her family’s guest house. As maid of honor, Andrea will need to come earlier than the rest of the bridesmaids. She tries to back out, but Tina won’t allow it, suggesting maybe it will inspire her writing. But she also doesn’t want to see Kyle again, so Tina promises he won’t be there until the night before the wedding. She even provides a dog-sitter for Axel so Andrea can bring him along. Tina gives her the perfect room with a writing desk and no one else is assigned rooms in that hallway, so it will be quiet. And it was… until 5 a.m. when blaring music next door wakes her up. Banging on the door in anger, screaming at the rudeness, she goes silent as Kyle opens the door. Could this be a deliberate setup by Tina, since Kyle tells her he always stays in that room whenever his family is at the guest house. Coincidentally, the groom had specifically asked his best man to arrive early to perform his duties… Instead, he and Andrea get into an argument with neither backing down until she finally goes back to her room and slams the door.
Her thoughts drift to their breakup and the pain. How will she get through this? Or is he struggling with his memories too? Do they still love each other? Is this a second chance to repair whatever drove them apart? Or is this just wishful thinking that will disappear in the morning?

Andrea and Kyle are fun and just the right amount of steamy and pretty much perfect, as is this book. Their wholesome cinnamon-roll romance didn't feel too sweet or too rushed, with a bit of suspense added in that propelled both their relationship and the series' arc perfectly. The whole thing left me with a smiling heart and made me impatient for more.

Andrea lives with her dog Axel and writes romances. But she's still missing real-life romance. She had it once. Her best friends brother... 'Til He just up and walked away. Turns out Andrea might get a second chance with Kyle at her best friend's wedding. Andrea wants to keep her distance, and I totally get it! She doesn't want to trust him only to have her heart broken again. Abby did a great job capturing the struggle of PTSD, and the issues that the partner of one with PTSD might experience. If you're looking for a short, clean read with HEA you'll want to read this one!
This is a sweet second chance romance with strong characters in Kyle and Andrea. The author brings a small town rom com with the two meeting up at the wedding they are both in. Sparks fly as they come together. It's a fun story and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and are freely given.
This was great! Andera and Tina have the best relationship as friends. After being hurt so bad how can you move forward? Second chances are not easy because you have to decide not to let the past keep hold any longer.
Thank you to the author for giving me this arc. I loved this one all the relationships between the characters are done well as well as the characterization and personalities that provide depth. This is a second chance romance that deals with ptsd . Her best friend is getting married and her ex happens to be the brother of the bride. She tried to avoid him but he ends up being placed in the room next door so they are constantly around each other. The book does show the beginning and how they progressed to where they are now. Kisses only book with a hea.
I didn't like the start of this book...the way Kyle was treating Andrea was pretty awful. It did improve but was a little hit and miss in terms of believing what the characters, particularly Kyle, were saying.

This is a quick and sweet novella. I think the elements of great rom-com are in it, but the story needs a bit of reworking. Some parts of the story felt a bit repetitive. I did enjoy the dual POV.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher.
This is a very sweet romance about Andrea reconnecting with her ex boyfriend, Kyle, who happens to be her best friend’s brother.
While reconnecting in the weeks before her best friends wedding, Kyle tries to show Andrea he is sorry, and ready to get back together, While Andrea is still hurting from the heartbreak two years ago.
This story is short and sweet, and while I would have loved to get a deeper dive into their past relationship, it was the perfect quick read.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Ngl I requested this book because I was in a silly mood and the title was cringe sjsjjsjsjsjs.
Okay so this book is not that bad and is a nice light read. The plot was okay in my opinion but the writing was juvenile if that’s the right word for it. The way the characters talk is so unnatural. People in real life do not talk like that. The prose also feels stilted. I find the characters likeable but I was kinda of annoyed at our FMC, Andrea because *spoilers* it was so obvious Kyle was the secret admirer?? Also, she had her dog, Axel for five years and Kyle has been in most of her life minus the last two years but it seems odd that Axel has no reaction to Kyle.

I’m a bit conflicted with this book. It wasn’t terrible, but I felt mislead by the synopsis. Here’s what I mean:
We get mentions of him being her bad boy ex. The only bad boy image we get is the fact he left her. He didn’t even say it to her face; he just left a letter saying he was sorry. We later on get a clearer picture for why he left, but I would have loved to see some flashbacks to those days and why Kyle was so adamant about leaving and bettering himself.
The synopsis also says that Kyle tells Andrea that he still loves her. This doesn’t even happen until the 72% mark in the book. I thought this would happen earlier and the whole book would be about him proving himself to her and winning her back…that’s not exactly how it goes.
A huge aspect of the book is that Andrea is a writer and has writers block. This isn’t mentioned in the synopsis, and I think it does deserve a shoutout since it’s a huge part of Andrea’s personality.
We didn’t get to know the side characters too much. Maybe they are showcased in this author’s other books, so we’re supposed to be familiar with them already. I just felt like there was missing information that had me not fully feeling the chemistry or camaraderie of this group.
I said it before but I really would have loved some flashbacks of Andrea and Kyle. Not just the bad moments, but the good ones too. Why do they love each other? How did they officially meet? What was their first date like? I just wanted more to compete the picture.

My honest review: 2.75 stars / 5
This was a sweet story and it had the beginnings and maybe the bones of a good book. However I found the writing to be weak and underwhelming. It felt like it was written for more of a YA audience. The way the characters spoke to each other was unnatural. The use of the term “baby girl” between the best friends and then between the main characters felt weird and unnatural and gave me a bit on an “ick.”
The storyline progressed quickly, it’s not a long book and an easy quick read. But every conflict was met with a very quick and easily solved solution. The biggest challenge was whether the exes would get back together. She was hesitant because of his past actions but they seemed to just talk in circles.
He had a real authentic life problem, struggling with PTSD from military service and the alcoholism that he used to cope. But rather than ever really come clean and explain the roots of his issues to her, which in my opinion would have been more authentic and meaningful, he just kept apologizing and saying he loved her, like that was good enough.
Overall it was cute, but it felt underdeveloped with no real character building or development. If you want a quick easy read with a predictable story line, this will work, but I’m sorry to say, if you’re looking for depth, it’s not here.
Andrea is the maid of honor for her best friend who is getting married. The only problem is her ex boyfriend is likely to show up since he’s her brother!
Kyle broke Andrea’s heart when he just up and left without talking to her- just leaving her a note. She was devastated and hasn’t completely gotten over the hurt he caused her. She feels anger seeing him again and doesn’t want anything to do with him. He tries to tell her he has changed but she doesn’t want to hear it until he helps her find her lost dog. Slowly she feels her heart feel what she used to feel for him but she doesn’t know if she can ever trust him again after what he did to her.
This is a book about second chances and about fighting through fear of rejection and reaching out once again to try and recapture the happiness you once had. It also shows what NOT to do in a relationship in shutting the other person out of your life like Kyle did to Andrea! That is the biggest problem to destroying a relationship there is- non communication! Kyle is lucky that Andrea still loved him enough to give him a second chance after the way he treated her!
I really enjoyed this book and recommend it as a book I think you’ll enjoy reading! Abby’s writing is superb and I enjoyed it as it flowed effortlessly along!
I recommend you check out her other books as well for these characters are true to life in so many ways and I’m sure you may see some traits in some of them you recognize in people you actually know!
*I did get this from NetGalley but all opinions are my own*
This was the story of Kyle and Andrea. They were once together until he broke her heart. They reconnect at Tina's wedding, Tina being Andrea's best friend and Kyle's sister. They both realize they still have feelings for each other but Andrea is hesitant because she remembers how he broke her heart the first time.
This book was like jamming five plot points into a book that none of which were fully fleshed out. Like if you took out the shopping with Tina (because no other bridesmaid or character was talked about at all it just felt kind of random), the secret admirer, one of the times of Kyle fighting another man, I think the book would flow better. Coming from a GenZ, I think the target audience for this book is definitely a millennial. Personally, I thought the dialogue was cringy and gave me a hardcore ick for everyone involved. I also wish the reason for the breakup was not like 5 seconds into the book. I feel like it could have been used as a way to slowly reveal the the reason that they broke up while showing that they were also still trying to fight to be together or not.
Overall, it was a quick romance read, but I would personally not read it again.
This book fell a bit flat for me. If the main theme behind the book was addiction, I feel that should have been discussed in depth and properly. Also, I felt the FMC was annoying, she was uncomfortable but if the MMC helped, she hated it. I understand where it came from but this was so repetitive throughout the story and if the main point of it was to show that he should have trusted and talked with her about whatever was going on instead of him ghosting her then it missed the mark.
I also felt that the MMC's sister's part in this whole equation was weird. Like I understand she is bestfriends with the FMC but did she not know the reason behind the fallout and understand the MMC's part.. I don't know. Even with the FMC I was confused given that apparently she helped him through the dark times but didn't she have any idea if that is what kinda bothered him? idk. I also didn't understand how fluctuating her anger was and how given all this anger she somehow had some frame of them with her in her drawer.
I strongly feel that the main fallout should have been discussed in depth and also as much as we love forced proximity and family meddling, I feel alternating timelines and understand what went on and what they went through would have helped with the emotional connect.
Andrea is her best friend Tina's Maid of Honor. As such she was invited with the rest of the wedding participants to come to the wedding venue in Cave Creek a week early to stay at Tina's family's guest cottage (a slight misnomer since there must be at least 10 bedrooms!). Andrea's Whippet companion Axel was also invited.
Andrea was awakened before 5:00 a.m. the first morning when Kyle, Tina's brother, began playing his guitar in the room across the hall from Andrea's. Kyle and Andrea have a history of a long romantic relationship that Kyle broke off suddenly and inexplicably about 2 years prior leaving Andrea with a broken heart. Andrea is a romance writer and has had a severe writer's block since the breakup. The rest of the book is about Kyle's effort to win Andrea back. Yes, there is a happy ending here, however, it seemed a bit unrealistic. I don't think I would have been interested in renewing a relationship following such a devastating loss. I enjoyed the book in spite of my reservations and would not hesitate recommending this book to other romance readers.
I received an early copy of this book and I'm voluntarily leaving my honest review.
“Second Chane with My Bad Boy Ex” By Abby Greyson As a member of the author’s ARC team, I received a free copy of “Second Chance with My Bad Boy Ex” prior to publication. I am writing a completely honest and voluntary review for this book.
Andrea and Kyle were a happy couple until Kyle suddenly left with a note just saying that he was leaving. He broke her heart. Two years later, Kyle’s sister, Tina, requested he come home to be the best man in her wedding. Tina also insisted her best friend Andrea be her maid -of -honor. It isn’t long before Kyle and Andrea realize they still have feelings for each other. Andrea is determined to let pain keep Kyle from seeing any positive feelings. Will the love and help from Andrea’s dog, Axel, their friends, the bridal party, and the bride and groom themselves be able to convince Andrea to give Kyle a second chance? Will Kyle give up trying to win her back? Why did Kyle walk out on her originally? All of these intriguing questions Abby Greyson will answer as she once again paints her masterpiece of a story. Definitely worth the read!
Kyle and Andrea had fallen in love until one day when he just up and left Andrea with no explanation. It has been three years.
Kyle and Andrea are forced to spend two weeks together. Andrea’s is the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding who happens to be Kyle’s sister. He is the best man.
My thoughts:
This is my second book by Greyson both in the Sweet Romantic Comedy series.
She does a good job of representing PTSD for veterans. The male main characters in both books dealt with PTSD after serving in the military. I love how she had the PSTD different in two characters as it’s not the same for everyone.
I liked how Andrea didn’t immediately just give Kyle a second chance. She made him work for it all the way until the end of the story. I don’t like when authors write to where the second chance is given without a second thought. A second chance needs to take work to be granted.
This was a cute, well written story. I look forward to reading more by Abby Greyson.
Thank you Abby Greyson for the complimentary copy of Second Chance with my Bad Boy Ex.
This sweet contemporary novella was about Andrea, a romance author and her ex boyfriend, Kyle who is ex-military. They see each other for the first time in two years since they broke up, at his sister Tina's wedding. Tina happens to be Andrea's bestie and she tries to throw them back together as Kyle is still in love with Andrea even though he is the one who walked away from their relationship. I did not particularly like either of the main characters, though I definitely disliked Andrea more. Kyle was okay but he was quite a wishy-washy character and never actually explained outright to Andrea why he left her in the first place. Andrea was still harbouring bitterness towards him and came across as a rather unpleasant lady. There were some discrepancies with Axel, Andrea's dog as she apparently had him for five years and yet Kyle had not dealt with the dog previously? The dialogue between the groomsmen at their suit fitting was childish and banal. It was an average read and I rate this book 3.5*.
I loved the premise of the book. The book was good but fell short of making me fall for any of the characters or the story itself. I was definitely sympathetic to Andrea and how she felt about what Kyle had done. And I could completely understand her cautiousness around him and distrust. While I somewhat understood why he did what he did, it doesn’t negate the fact that how he went about it was horribly wrong. I also didn’t like that he was childish and snapped back at her one moment while acknowledging that he never stopped loving her a little later. I didn’t particularly love either of them. Yes, I could understand their hurt, apprehension, and even longing. But I never quite got to the point where I was rooting for them. I’m sure that a lot of people will love this book, but it just missed the mark for me.

Be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions. It is a clean language and a clean romance story.
With Andrea took some time off to attend her best friend's wedding she was semi-prepared to see her ex just for a day, not two weeks. Kyle broke Andrea's heart two years ago, he left like a coward. When he sees her again his world stops. She hates him. They make a truce for Kyle's sister (Andrea's best friend) to be civil, nothing more. But the thing is that Kyle wants her back. What he can do to win her over? Why she can't understand that he loved her? Can he be late to make everything right and love her forever?
I cry a 'little'. So you may need some tissues close to you. Find out how Andrea manages to guard her heart and what Kyle is willing to do to win her back.
