I loved this book. The blend of steam and intensity was lush and when you add in the drama, emotion, twists, suspense and danger, you have yourself an irresistible story that is sinfully seductive. I was completely consumed with Jonny and Sedona's tantalizing tale.

Scandal is extremely well written, engaging characters, and a emotive storyline that transport you into the story with characters. It's dark. Complex, dirty and I devoured every single detail of and hungered for long after the last line. It was off the charts hot. This book demands to be read. It's deliciously addicting and impossible to put down. It's an escape from everyday life and gave me that extra something I was looking for. It was definite page turner with enticing erotic and spicy romantic scenes that will have sweating like a sinner on Sunday.
Scandal is a story about decades old vendetta, betrayal, enemies, duty, corruption, traitor, alliances, friendship, survival, murder, revenge, mystery, revelations, retaliation, survival, deception, lies, dominance, submission, spanking, guilt, praises, pawn, hurt, pain, secrets, drama, darkness, madness, lust-at-first-sight, danger, acceptance, mob war, trust, rivalry, bondage, throat play, stalking, attacks, threats, violence, obsession, possessiveness, deaths, hunted, backstabbing, passion power and control, manipulation, attempted murder and love. This is Sedona and Jonny story.
The premise is dark and gritty. The characters are dynamic; the romance is seductive and intense. This thrilling story has non-stop twists and turns and high-octane action, secrecy, and adventure that had on the edge of my seat throughout the achingly beautiful HEA. Jonathan James a.k.a. Jonny is the Don of the Canadian Crime Family out of Montreal. He controls all of Montreal and it's surrounding areas. The Callahan Crime Family out of Montreal and The James Family had long a standing alliances in place before Jonny took over as head of the family. However, there was a betrayal of the agreement between the two families, where Sean Callahan had some of Jonny clients and representing himself as being the front man for the two powerful Canadian families; and dealing with the Bratva's this resulting in his discipline. What Sean started led Jonny to Louisville, Kentucky to broker a deal with the Irish mob boss Ronan O'Connor because he seems to control of the entire southern area of United States pipeline and the James family want in. They had a pleasant meeting where he had drinks with he and his wife.
Louisville governor and chef of police is trying to rid their city of organize crime. They have been an increasing number of murders in last few months with syndicate style murder suggesting a rival gang moving in, and the latest murder chief of police is breathing down their necks for a conviction.
Sedona Beckett is the lead prosecutor of Louisville, Kentucky. She has ninety-nine percent success rate having only loss one case. The Damien Duncan a.k.a. the Butcher, case a couple years ago, and only reason why she lost that one was because he had a solid alibi. The Butcher had slaughtered six women and he was on business at his last victim house who provided him with his alibi. Sedona was at friend wedding when her boyfriend of six months Matt broke up with over the phone while she was at one of her best friend wedding. He told her that she was the ice queen in the courtroom and that she has allowed it to follow her into the bedroom. Her best friend Jenny told her that she needed an outlaw in her life, not a prim and proper pig with stick stuck up his butt like Matt.
She needs a sexy, dangerous man with a permanent five o'clock shadow, and eyes so dark and ominous that you know all his thoughts are filled with passion. She told told her that she needed one hot fling where she wouldn't have to be the good girl for one night. Sedona was all riled up and turn on with the images that Jenny mentioned. She went into the hotel bar for a cocktail and as she was coming from the restroom she ran into this goregous man. The two flirted at bar and it ended in night of mind-blowing passion session, one the sex of her life that haunted her for days. Sedona has never prosecuted none of mob cases since has been at the District Attorney office. But with the slaying of Irish mob Ronan O'Connor and his wife it is a high profile case and her boss and Christine Warner has handed it to her because she believes that it is a slam dunk. Sedona was shocked when she went to police station to talk to the perpetrator and saw that it was her sexy one night stand Jonny. Ronan O'Connor brother is on the warpath and has vow revenge.
As Sedona dive into the case it's not adding up and she believes that Jonny is innocent. The two of them are forced into middle of something and she was going to get to bottom of it. They were similar murders to the ones like Damien Duncan several years ago. She's wondering if Damien was back in town, because the last thing that he had said to her in the courtroom after her was exonerated was he would be back. Jonny is out and can't stop thinking about his cherie. She belongs to him and whatever he wants he gets. They run into each other again and Jonny wouldn't let her go. They burn up the sheets until morning and kindle. He told her that she was in danger from what he had found out. Someone is hunting and stalking Sedona and using same scared tactics as Damien on her to point of where she almost lost her sanity.
She and Jonny decided to work together after she found out that there were more murders that the police are not investigating. As things heats up her boss Christine has started to act very strange since she put her on the case. She tells her that there are plans that being put in place that whether are not a person has a strong alibi that they will be convicted. She was issuing a threat to Sedona telling her that their office has become highly respected in the state and beyond beyond because of her 99% percent success, and women like them needs to be running the world so she better convict Mr. James whether he's innocent or not because she's replaceable. As they dig deeper they realize that they are at play and what and who thought know are not, there's a larger game at play.
As Christine speed up Jonny trial date to conviction he knows that they have to run to Montreal where he can better protect back them in order to save their lives and to figure out what's going on. There's so much going on in this story decades vendetta of Omar Baranov Bratva out of New Orleans, who were enemies of the James decades ago because grandpa James murder Omar's wife in bed. He has waited on his revenge against the James family all this time, and when he heard that Jonny was coming into town it was the perfect setup. Erin Callahan was dating Omar only living son and she was coerced into helping the Baranov Bratva bring down the O'Connor family so the Bratva could easily roll into Louisville, and to also destroy the James family. This story is oh so satisfying and mouth-watering and keeps you guessing right up until the very end. Phenomenal read a definite TBR.

A scenario that holds you riveted from start to beginning and I guarantee that you will love every moment of this amazing book
From start to finish this was a simply wonderful read that had my attention held completely and I guarantee that you will find the way that Sedona recently dumped by her long-time boyfriend meets a man and has an affair that changes her life for good.
Johnny could not believe the woman that he met at the hotel that night and when they had gone to the room and she had shown him that she was no shrinking violet by fighting back and nearly un-manning him and still she had fallen into bed with him and they had a wonderful night of love making.
The Johnny finds himself arrested for murdering two people he had seen the previous evening and now they are going to have him incarcerated and he cannot believe the time they are going to have him in court he knows he is being fitted up but has no idea why.
Imagine her surprise when she has to attend the police station as the public defender and finds that the man, she there to see is the man she spends the night with.
I guarantee that you will be captivated by this wonderful story especially when it is only too apparent that they are being framed and that they have actually tried to murder Sedona and now he has had to take her to his home and will never leave her alone again, he will guard her with his very las breath he loves her and she him.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Sedona Beckett is a head strong, fiery prosecutor who has glorious track record of putting criminals away. After being dumped during one of her best friend’s wedding reception , she is encouraged to live on the wild side for once. This has her crossing paths with Jonny James an Italian Don from Montreal, Canada. Jonny is dominant and possessive. To the world is a killer and monster but deep down inside he is far from that. Unfortunately, he finds himself stuck between a rock and a hard place when he finds himself in custody for a crime he for once didn’t commit and the fiery woman that prosecuting him is the woman she met at the hotel just a few nights prior.
Scandal is a dual POV dark mafia romance that centers around revenge, family secrets, lust and trust. Sedona and Jonny work together in finding out who is trying to frame them while also navigating their feelings for one another (mostly Sedona). With her career and life on the line, she has to make a choice and she does so unapologetically but not without a few break downs first. Outside of all the drama and mayhem going on, Jonny shows Sedona what she’s been missing and needed. A rough neck who doesn’t take no for an answer but also a romantic gentleman.
For the most part, I enjoyed the characters but the plot was a little all over place for me. There were moments that I got confused about what was going on. I did like how the story concluded with Sedona and Jonny’s life after all the mess that went down. They deserved it especially Cookie Monster.

Scandal follows Sedona Beckett a very successful prosecutor in Louisville, KY and Jonathan James (Jonny) the head of the Canadian Crime Syndicate. The story begins as Sedona is attending her friends wedding when she gets a call from her boyfriend in which he brakes up with her. When a friend tells her she needs to let herself go for a night and find herself a sinfully hot man to have hot sweaty sex. After the wedding she ends up at her hotel bar where she literally bumps into a man that could of come out of a fantasy. Completely out of her comfort zone she does just that. What she never expected was the gorgeous man she spent an unforgettable night with would end up being the person she was called into prosecute for murder the next morning.

There is such hot chemistry between Jonny and Sedona. They end up spending the night together, only knowing each others first names. Jonny is being accused of a murder he is innocent of. Sedona is the prosecuting attorney on the case and she is also Jonny's alibi. Jonny is protective of Sedona and also dominant. He always gets what he wants.

From the moment I knew what this book was going to be about I knew I would love it and I’m so happy it didn’t disappoint me! The beginning sets the tone for lots of mystery battles between the two main characters and unpredictable events/action. The woman character is far invented in her powerful consuming dangerous job she doesn’t know how to let go and enjoy life outside of her job. The very tall extremely fit hottie needs to blow of some steam from having to deal with rough business among other things. Will these two make it through all the challenges that a one night stand makes it into? Will they be able to let their guard down and trust each other to find out who their enemies are? This book awesome if you love enemies to lovers law vs criminal things, lots of banter between the characters, action packed, hot moments. Revenge with lots of guessing if you’re a reader like me who is trying to figure out the bad guys as I read the story. There are some very heartfelt moments in here too that I love very much among other things too! There is so much to enjoy and love with this book I couldn’t possibly stop reading it I hope you guys love it as much as I do!. Feels like it as a little bit of every theme everyone in my opinion would find and enjoy this page turner book!!

This book has intrigue, suspense and a whole lotta of passion.
Jonny and Sedona’s story is positively tantalizing, entertaining and sinfully enticing.
The deep these characters have to each other is heart-gripping and beautifully erotic.
Sedona’s turbulent relationship with Jonny goes against all her values as a prosecutor, but the heart what the heart wants and for her thats Jonny.

OMG, I LOVED this book! Jonny James is a businessman from Canada who walks into a bar in Louisville, KY and sees the most beautiful woman and they have a passionate night together. For Sedona, spending a steamy night with the sexy stranger is so out of character for herself but she has no regrets. Jonny finds himself being framed for a murder he didn't commit, and it turns out his alibi is the sexy woman from the bar who happens to be the prosecuting attorney. This book has everything from brutality, dominance in the bedroom, to such sweet scenes that it will keep you on the edge of your seat. I always say that "this" is my favorite story from Piper Stone but then she releases another one so, I can't wait to start my next read!.

I'm not sure I can describe what I want to say but I will try,Sedona was told she was a ice queen but she needed the right man and that was Jonny James and he always gets what he goes after.Jonny runs into Sedona in a bar and they hook up.Next he is in jail and she knows that he is innocent but because she is a very high power attorney and if she comes forward her career is sunk, her life life is threatened and she isn't sure if it is because a old case but Jonny puts proctor on her and she trys to fine anything that will clear Jonny but lives are being loss and they actually have to leave the country to clear names ,but there are surprises to come before they clear their name,this story wasn't a disappointment and very hard to put down and alot of secrets!

My Thoughts: I just finished reading Scandal by Piper Stone, my first read by this author. I thought the plot and writing of the book were decent, and the characters were well-developed. While I wasn't completely invested in them, I did enjoy reading about them. However, my only issue is that the ending felt rushed and abrupt. It seemed like the author had to quickly wrap up the book, and didn't have enough time or space to properly conclude the story. It grabbed me from page one and the more I got into the storyline, the more enthralled I became.
An intensely gripping, steamy erotic mafia read with lots of action. The storyline will keep you on your toes and keep you guessing until the end as all is revealed.

Well, talk about a story with more surprises than I can count, this one is full of them. Just when I think I can figure out the bad guys, I am surprised that I am wrong and this happens throughout the story. It’s a great story and I loved it. Jonny and Sedona’s characters are well developed and one of the main reasons I love this story. I adored little Christian and what he contributed. The story is full of action and not all of it good but it was what I expected when dealing with criminal families. I loved the story and would highly recommend it as a great read.

This book is Piper Stone at her finest! Great, well-written characters, fast-paced storyline, sizzle, steam, crazy twists, turns, action, drama, and more. Jonny James is the head of a Canadian crime family. In Louisville for business, he comes to the rescue of Sedona Beckett in his hotel bar. Sparks fly and they end up having a passionate night. But when Jonny is accused of murder, Sedona is his alibi and happens to be the prosecuting attorney for the city of Louisville. This book grabs you and holds on tight from start to finish. Sadona and Jonny. Sadona is on her way to possibly becoming District Attorney and Jonny is Canadian mafia. They hook up for one night, which turns out to be both wonderful and terrible! Jonny is being framed for a double murder, but he's innocent and his alibi is Sadona. If she provides the alibi her career will be over since she is the prosecuting attorney. But the heat between them can't be denied. Really good story, tight and suspenseful, packed with realistic characters. Loved little Christian! Very entertaining read.

Loved this story! From the betrayal, secrets and mystery that Johnny and Sedona face, with the framing of the French Canadian Don to the twists and turns of Sedona’s past case haunting her. The angst and lust of a one night stand turning into more twists and turns is perfect. The suspense of what was going to happen next kept me on the edge my seat. Great dominate alpha and an ice queen he was determined to thaw, with steamy scenes and being her protector with a few beautiful surprises. Great story and very intriguing plot twists. Highly recommend!

The story was great. I loved that I did not immediately know who was "the bad guy" until the very end. It kept me guessing & I liked that. Sedona was a really hard character for me to like. Jonny was like "this is me" and he didn't hide who he was. Sedona would run to him and away from him in the same breath. It was exhausting. Overall I really liked this story.
This is the first time I've heard a narrator read a female part and not use a female voice. It was a bit hard to get into at first but I loved how he told the story.

This was such a good story, full of steamy scenes and action. Jonny and Sedona are dynamite together even if they are on opposite sides of the law. The storyline was great and really captures the readers interest. There are heartwarming scenes with Christian who adds another dimension to the story making it even more interesting. The twist at the end was not entirely unexpected but complex enough that most will not see it coming. A great read.

Too bad the next time they meet, it is after he has been arrested for murder and she has been tasked to prosecute him. The chemistry between the characters were great but the plot was a bit messy.

Wow! Talk about a rollercoaster ride of mystery and nonstop edge of your seat writing! This book grabbed me right out of the gate and I was up till the wee hours of the AM to finish it. Jonny's character just won my heart and Sedona 's character was so strong and sassy, it was great to see them together. Phenomenal writing and storyline. Fantastic read!.
