Growing up, MAD magazine was mostly inaccessible - too expensive or too frowned upon by those who controlled my purse strings and my education. However, any sneak peak between the covers was decadently rewarding. This book version makes up somewhat for interrupted childhood. The levels of effort from a team of artists and the efforts to impart their offbeat, often hilarious take on the very serious world is a panacea to drudgery and anxiety.

Nostalgia gone mad.

More humor than the law ought to allow. The illustrations of life's quirky situations were funny as well as true. The 99 cent store is a must read for the seriously frugal shopper. Overall a hilarious read. My favorite mag when a teen.

MAD is beyond its hay day for me, but it's still worth perusing.
