Heartbroken and confused, Aria starts college a completely different person. She hardly recognizes the broken girl she's become, but she can't seem to find the strength to put back together the pieces either.

Enter Holden Whitmore.

He's charming, considerate, and he's making it his mission to make her smile.

At first, she isn’t impressed with him, but he’s persistent and soon she discovers there’s more to him than just a charming smile.

Aria was sure she'd never be able to move on with her life, but there's just something about Holden that makes her want to try.

When her tragedy comes full circle, she’s left with a choice: Keep holding on to the past, or move on and find her future...

Two stars seems harsh, right? Especially with all the four or five star reviews, which to me, seem too high of a rating. The most one should give this is a three. And I'm not saying that to be mean, it's just truthful. The storyline in general was good, it was simply the way it was written that fell flat. The characters fell flat, the dialogue was terribly boring, and it was difficult to read this.
I never really felt Aria's grief over Sean's death, or Holden's feeling for her. I read that Aria grieved, and I read that Holden loved her, and that Aria loved him but I never FELT anything, I was simply reading words that were strung together emotionlessly. And I was SO excited for this book, it sounded so great but in the end it just didn't have it. I was never drawn into the story, or even interested in what was going to happen.
BUT this also could just be me, and I have no doubt that there are readers out there who would LOVE this book, and clearly there are since there is high rating reviews out there so I do suggest that if the book sounds interesting to you, that you check it out.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book!!!

The story follows Aria Watkins as she tries to move on with her life in the wake of a horrible tragedy. As desperate as she is to take steps forward, she struggles with horrible guilt and is unable to allow herself the forgiveness that is necessary in order for her to let go. To make matters even more complicated, Holden Whitmore comes along. Besides being the campus heartthrob, Holden is witty and charming and for some reason beyond Aria’s understanding, he has set his sights on her. As much as she tries to push him away and deny her growing feelings, she reluctantly realizes that he may be the key to putting the pieces of her broken life back together.

The story moves along quickly which I love (books filled with boring and unnecessary fluff REALLY annoy me) and I could not put it down. I immediately fell in love with the characters and they had me angry, crying, and laughing out loud which is not easy to do. It is the perfect blend of romance and drama with a twist...definitely a must read!!

Wow! Wow! WOW!!

Aria and Holden have a story worth reading! Aria meets Holden at the worse possible time of her life, numb and barely living. She tries everything to keep him away but despite her harsh words and complete lack of manners, Holden proves to her that it's possible to be happy and laugh, and even love, again.

I could have read this book in one sitting if not for my growling stomach and a newborn with needs. Holden is the epitomy of swoon worthy and you will find yourself urging Aria to let him and the bubbly Olivia in. There's definitely something to be learned from Erica's newest work: with the right people in your life, you can overcome anything.

Contemporary really is new for me. Like the last year I started to read it and only if it came recommended to me. Cope's novel is great. Aria is a great character with a lot of hurdles to over come. But she isn't what really draws me in.

It's Holden. Often in any genre, the guy, had total dirt bag, jerk, and/or bonehead moves. Holden is a genuinely good character. He's not too fast and while he brings some problems to the story line, it's not because of selfish reasons. It's refreshing.

Erica Cope does a great job.. again!

I've been having a hard time coming up with the correct words to express just how much I fell in love with Pieces of Me.The best words I could come up with were Erica Cope. You rock.If you ever stop writing I will find you and put a pen in your hand and make you write.

Pieces of Me is the story of Aria who has gone through a horrible tragedy and blames herself. Her life is in ruins until she literally bumps into Holden. From there Holden is somehow everywhere and he seems to have what it takes to get Aria to do the one thing she doesn't want to do.Smile.

Pieces of Me is wonderfully written. It is one of those books that enters your soul and when you finish the story stays in your heart. The flow was smooth, writing consistent and the best part? The story dragged me into it and I admit..I went into book hangover after I read it.

Give yourself a huge pat on the back Erica Cope. You have written something awesome here.

The book follows Aria as she attempts to gain a fresh start by leaving a small Kansas town and traveling east to begin college. When a tragic memory attempts to overtake her it is soon replaced by an all american boy, Holden, and an overly bubbly and perceptive friend, Olivia. The ladder she has to climb towards acceptance is a very difficult feat. It's a small world after all, when the truth comes out with an unlikely connection between Aria and Holden. This truly shocked me. I am usually keen on anticipating the end of a love story, however Erica Cope kept the tears coming in the last two chapters with the surprise and heartbreaking connection. She did a beautiful job painting the picture so you can really relate to the characters and feel reminiscent of a similar time in your own life. 5 stars for a beautiful story! My favorite so far in Erica Copes journey as an author!

LOVED IT!
Erica Cope has done a amazing job as always!
This is her 3rd book and i love just as much as her other 2.
Aria Watkins’s is heart broken a accident takes away her love it throws her in a depression. Losing him causes her to with drawls from any form of happiness. To get away from her small town and all the people that know her and look at her with pity. She takes off for collage trying to get a fresh start.
Holden Whitmore He's charming and wants her you can tell how much he tries to make her smile and always wants to see her or help her make her smile. but there is something that could keep her from moving on.
i love this book to read all her heartache and pain the guilt of the accident. To watch the friendship she starts with Holden and see her feelings start to grow.
this is a must read dont miss out!

Such a touching and amazing story. It's one of those books that you read over and over again and can't help sighing in awe every time.
Aria is heartbroken over the death of her boyfriend, someone that she loved with all her heart. She blames herself and closes herself off from the world. But when she goes off to colleges she meets Holden, a drop dead gorgeous guy with a big heart. As they continue to know each other she develops feelings for him but can't help feeling guilty.
It's definitely a must read.

The reviews for this book were pretty good, so my expectations were fairly high for this second chance romance. But it just fell short for me. I didn't connect with the Aria's character. She frustrated me to no end. I did love Holden's character, though.

It took Aria the entire book to get over her guilt and anger over losing Sean. So there is literally one page worth of her and Holden beginning their relationship. I wanted more of their relationship and less of Aria's inner demons.

3 stars.

500 stars!
Pieces of me is a brilliant and heartwarming, emotional novel with amazing relatable characters and is the first NA book i have read in a while that contains no explicit sex scenes. It gets a bit old after a while so this is a much welcomed change.
I must say the twist... I didn't see that coming at all! It left me staring at the page for a full 5 minutes before turning the page.
I can definitely see Pieces of Me becoming an international bestseller. Go grab it now!

⭐⭐

__________________________________________________

Totalmente lenta e insoportable novela.
Lo único bueno: Holden y los personajes secundarios.

Pieces

When I think of pieces of something, I think of a puzzle. And that is how this book unfolds to me. A puzzle put together is a big picture; Aria had a picture of forever in her mind with Sean. But puzzles can easily break, and then they are just pieces. Aria has so many pieces she needs to put together. She can’t make that picture with Sean anymore, and she has to put the pieces of her life back together. She has to find herself again, and a future without him. She meets Holden. There are pieces of her heart that are wanting to be put back together, but her brain just isn’t ready to recognize how to do that.

Pieces of Me was a wonderful heart warming story about love, loss and being able to move on. It was one of those books that captures you from the start and you find yourself reading it one sitting. It was a light, quick and very sweet and enjoyable read.

Aria had the perfect life and the perfect boyfriend. Until one day it was all gone. She lost the love of her life and wasn't sure how to move on. She has been grieving and carrying around the guilt of his death. She can't face his family whom she loves like her own because she is afraid of them hating her. So she decides to go off to college and try to move on. That's where she meets Holden, the boy who may be the one person who can put back the pieces of her broken heart.

Holden was a wonderful hero. He was so sweet, caring, charming and he wanted to know more about Aria. And as much as Aria liked Holden and was drawn to him, there was something holding her back. Her guilt over the loss of her boyfriend. She felt guilty being with someone else, like she was cheating on Sean. She felt that being with Holden meant she would forget him. Holden was very persistent and the one thing he wanted to do was make her smile. He saw the sadness in her and knew that there was a reason behind it. Holden fell in love with Aria and she did everything to fight her feelings for him. But when she finally does give in something happens that causes her to rethink everything. Is she able to put the past behind her and move on or will the guilt over the death of her boyfriend be so much that it stops her from finding happiness? In order to have a future with anyone, she first needs to let go of the past.

Pieces of Me was a heart warming read and emotional at times. I loved Holden and loved how sweet he was with Aria. There was a twist in the end that I did not see coming, one that could destroy what Holden and Aria had. Overall this was a really sweet and enjoyable read. I think my only issue was that I wanted more of Holden. Would love to get to know him a little better, but I still loved it. You will fall in love with Holden and see what a wonderful man he is. There was a moment in the book where Aria finally confronts Sean's death in a way and it was heart warming and heart breaking all in one. Holden gave Aria a second chance at love and happiness and all though the thought scared her, she finally realized that she deserved to be happy. Great job by Ms. Cope!

Cheesey. Not just a little bit, but I'm talking about a couple of huge truckloads.

Although Aria had a very traumatic loss, I think it's still safe to say that she is a monumental douche. I simply can't comprehend why anyone would be interested in her (friend or otherwise). Her whole purpose for leaving home was to "rejoin the world of the living". Yet I find that if it weren't for the VERY PERSISTENT Olivia and Holden, she wouldn't succeed at anything besides being a jerk and continuing to wallow in self pity. She does, however, warm up sometime later, (albeit, with MUCH prodding) which makes it a little more bearable.

**Spoilers**

After the acceptance of Holden and the "big reveal" of her tragic past, comes the dreaded (which is in most of these types of stories) secret/mistake/event/misunderstanding/stupid stupidness for the sake of added drama, that tears the new found/tragic/unlikly couple apart. I bring this up because I want to address how Aria initially handles it. She is incredibly absurd. Should she be pissed? Yes. Should she take some time to herself? Yes. Should she cut off everyone for a whole month, including the only girl friend she has (who, by the way, has nothing to do with said added drama)? No. I for one would be so sick of myself, expecially after the year she had following Sean's death, to spend a whole month alone. Not to mention the fact that she was just reminded what it is like to have people in her life again.

To put in the plainest terms, the MC is just not a likeable character through 90% of this book.

Ohmergerd! I was tearing up reading the PROLOGUE!! That right there is reason enough to download this book. I had an immediate connection with the MC Aria. The anguish and sorrow that she endures within those first few pages…my heart broke for her.

The plot was similar to another book that I’ve read before, however since I don’t remember for sure, that really doesn’t bother me. I had a pretty good idea what the big mystery was by half way through the book BUT the dialogue and characters were so interesting that I really didn’t mind that I already knew what was going to happen. I was enthralled enough to keep on reading.

So, the suspense wasn’t really there, however the writing was superb. The emotions were real. I found myself on the edge with Aria and wanting to hold her hand and comfort her! This might be the only time I’ve ever said (or will ever say) that those faults I mentioned earlier in the plot didn’t really matter to me. I WANTED to keep on reading because I had that emotional connection and I had to see this through.

This is beautifully written. Highly emotional and will leave you with a smile on your face.

This is an author that I will be reading more from very soon.

At chapter nine I am seriously considering giving this one up. Aria has really made no progress at all and keeps doing things with her friend just to shut her up, honestly her constant whiny attitude is getting to me and making this book a hard on for me to enjoy reading.

Those were my thoughts up to Chapter 14, at 56% this book is a DNF for me. Nothing really seems to be happening even with reading 5 more chapters nothing is going on, well nothing but Aria going to a party yet again and staying like a minute, her trying to avoid Holden and oh yeah being whiny and depressed. I read books like this often and while it seems others draw me in this one is turning me off, Aria is turning me off. It's like she's trying too hard to make herself feel guilty. That sounds weird but it's what it feels like to me. I got this one on sale $.99 which isn't too bad because the writing isn't bad it's just the way Aria is coming off, if I would have paid more than the sale price I would be one unhappy girl. A this point I'm not going to recommend it and I'm not really sure I will even start this one back up.

Dual POV of Aria Watkins and Holden Whitmore

"Tomorrow I start my freshman year of college-a year later than I was supposed to and all alone. I still can't believe that my life is turning out so different from what I was expecting. Sean should be here with me. But he isn't. All I have left is an old faded t-shirt and a box on the floor of my closet I can't bear to look at because it contains memories of the boy I love." ~Aria

Aria lost her first love in a car accident a year ago and starting out college a year later than expected. She is a loaner and depends only on herself. Little does she know that she will be running into someone who not only takes interest in her but may have a secret of his own that he is keeping from her. Will Aria be able to let Holden in and let go of her first true love or will the true secret tear them apart when they just begin their trust and friendship?

"People say fairy tales give girls a false perception of love, but I think they give you a false perception of life. Because, let's face it, reality is not always sunshine and rainbows." ~ Aria
