Lux was the fire that can melt this winter god from the inside
This was why he would never give her up. Hudson Falk helped her escape an arranged marriage to benefit her selfish father's business and social status. He'd forced all of his children into unhappy arranged marriages. But she would not be the one. There was a man she'd loved already and he was her best friend. Unbeknownst to her, Hudson felt the same way, but he did not want to scare her away. He had to play his cards carefully and her so-called wedding gave him a way. He rescued her just in the nick of time, but he could not reveal his true self until she was completely his.
Not even magic cast by a spurned selfish, and jealous betrothed woman could destroy the love they felt for each other. Even when the memory was gone, the love was there. It gave them both the opportunity to create new memories.
I loved this Norse fairytale story of unbroken love. Hudson aka Isarr had a deep abiding love for Lux. I love how he stood up to her father and Odin for her love. He'd rather live in banishment than to live without her. Lux was willing to fight for her "big-headed" winter god. I felt their chemistry, it was sweet and tender.
FAVORITE QUOTE “Minka, you may think you’ve won, but you gave me an opening.” “An opening to what?” she said slowly.
“To build with my wife anew.” Hudson smiled. “I still love her, and you can erase memories, but not love. We will create new memories from the very beginning. I will wake her to tell her I love her every morning, and I will tell of how we met.”
