Obsession is a poignant story of love, passion and obsession.
Rajan's beloved Rajni is promised to another man. Rajni's parents are in a hurry to get their daughter married off before anything untoward starts to brew in her psyche and, therefore, accept a grossly mismatched alliance. As fate would have it, it turns out that her husband-to-be is Rajan's own elder brother, Romesh.
After the two get married and Rajni comes to live with them as Romesh's wife, life becomes hell for the love-birds. In a hysterical state of mind, Rajan commits a serious crime of passion and is condemned to five years imprisonment. Rajni,
believed to be his accomplice, is cast off by society, and her loneliness slowly pushes her into a morbid obsession for sexual gratifications - tempestuous, uninhibited and unrestrained.
On the day of his release, Rajan gets back home, only to face still more terrible strokes of fate.
