Larkin Rose lives in a “blink and you’ve missed it” town in the beautiful state of South Carolina with her partner, Rose (hence the pen name). Her writing career began some years ago when the voices in her head wouldn’t stop their constant chatter. After ruling out multiple personalities, and hitting the keyboard, a writer was born. The voices continue. The clatter of keys continues. The birth of erotic creations carries on.

I'm normally a fan of Rose's erotic romances but I didn't click with this one as much as I have her others. Kelsey Billings heads up a large corporation that buys out and dissolves failing companies. She also strips for her own entertainment at a friends club semi-regularly. When Jordan pays for a lap dance which ends a night of sex, Kelsey finds she can't stop thinking about her. Well, that and the death threats she's getting.

Kelsey's characterisation bothered me a little bit. She doesn't seem to like stripping at all. If anything she's angry with the clientele and I couldn't figure out why she was doing it. Helping a friend doesn't seem like a good enough reason when you don't like the response of the audience. Jordan and Kelsey's relationship was incredibly volatile but it happened too quickly for me to believe in its potential.

It's not a bad read by any means but it seemed too similar to many of the books I've read.

after reading the sample before buying this book, i had my expectations set low and knew not to expect a deep, soul searching, thought provoking book. the two protagonists meet and 'hook up' before we even get any real details about their lives or personalities. so you basically are reading about sex between strangers. don't expect more.

i have to say though, as the story progressed we got to see more of these two women. i rather liked the fleshing out of jordan's character and thought she was very likeable by the end. You also get a nice little stalker mystery thrown in, which i enjoyed. There are frequent sex scenes, which larkin is rather good at. She manages to mix it up a bit from hot dance scenes to the two women proclaiming their hatred for each other while ripping off their clothes.

so don't expect a deep complex novel. this is a short one with a lot of sex, some mystery, and characters that you dont really get to know until close to the end of the book. But if you know that going in, you might find it enjoyable.

I got more out of the book then I expected. Kelsey was an exotic dancer not a stripper. She was a strong woman who can take care of herself to the point of not letting anyone into her heart. Jordan is sexy and confident and has the tools to break down the walls of Kelsey’s heart. Yes there are a lot of hot sexy scenes. There is also a romance.

Oh my goodness. Well, this is quite a lovely leap and a jump from Ms. Rose's first book. Gritty, sexy as all get-out, and broadcasting her leading women's passions, doubts, and strengths all over the place. I wouldn't want it any other way. The two very fervid women looking for an extremely short-term sexual connection find they are more attracted to each other than they think prudent. However, they each have a hidden yet hard-core element that will most definitely split them asunder. Exciting!

Kelsey Billings lives an extraordinary double life...corporate mogul by day and super torrid stripper by night. She has placed herself in this deliberately schizophrenic scenario to give her friend a helping hand, but she also gets to perform. As she dances, she pours her heart and soul out onto the stage to cleanse and purge some of the painful downsides associated with the business that she inherited from her father. This woman has layers of complexity that burn across the pages yet solicited a sense of anguish from me in response to her suffering. She is, however, a damn good dancer/stripper going by the name of Veronica at her friend's club. Trained by her father to carry on his legacy, she is nevertheless a superheated and sexy lover perhaps above all else. I certainly relish my special front row seat for both venues. Intriguing!

Jordan Porter makes a pit stop at the strip joint where Veronica dances. She really likes what she sees. So, Jordan puts her thirty bucks down for a personal lap dance. No touching on Jordan's part as per the rules, but that doesn't stop her from daring Veronica to kiss her. Jordan ups the ante and dares Veronica to want more! Pushing her luck, Jordan cajoles Veronica into hooking up outside the club that night. Oh dear! Jordan's eyes widen as she knows no stripper could afford a place like the one where Veronica leads the two of them. When one fuck-buddy night becomes three fuck-buddy nights in a row, the scene is set for some rather unexpected fireworks. Jordan is rock solid with blisteringly good hot stuff, right down to her trying to help her mum stay afloat after losing her job. I loved Jordan. Fantabulous!

Kelsey and Jordan are very strong characters and it is hard to imagine them not burning each other out or obliterating each other from the face of the earth. I found this pairing incredibly refreshing and provocative. The story is a tad uneven, but I still recommend it for followers of the genre, fans of Larkin Rose, and folks with a strong sense of self and a taste for danger. Oh by the way, Kelsey has a stalker with truly murderous thoughts on her mind that definitely pushes the danger level sky-high. Exquisitely satisfying!

A intriguing story about costs & consequences of choices

Definitely not the story I was expecting after reading the description… but like, wow, was this a really, really, really good book!!

An entertaining, well-written story with intriguing & likeable characters that were easy to like, appreciate & relate to. Plus, bonus points for multiple 🔥🔥 smoking hot sex scenes! The storyline offered a creatively unique concept from the typical rote girl-meets-girl narratives.

Detailed score: 2.75

A series of pwoar scenes loosely held together with a thin plot. 2 dimensional characters. But a fun enough puff piece

I don’t know what to feel about this book. I’ve loved Visions so much so I was expecting a lot with the author but it just didn’t work out this time. The story has the potential, but the characters were confusing. The plot was confusing at times and you don’t know what’s gonna happen next, and not in a good way. Finished it for the sake of finishing the book.

Kelsey is such a Mary Sue that it ruined the book for me. She is unrealistically perfect in every single way, which makes her really hard to get into. Real people have real flaws; hers are that she's too gorgeous and she's too much of an "angel". Really? She was boring, very flat, and she got annoying.

Jordan, on the other hand, was way on the irrelevant side. She was there as the romantic interest, obviously, but she was equally boring. She wasn't of much use to the story. Aside from the sex scenes, she was extremely unnecessary.

The characters didn't go through any significant character growth that you would expect at the end of the book. I know this is an erotica, but damn it, there is still a need for character growth. On top of that, the sex scenes (if they're any good) should say something about the characters. These were way too generic.

The stalker thing only pushed this to the limits of too dramatic and really was a lame way to include some "intense" conflict/danger that would cause Jordan and Kelsey to get their heads out of their asses and admit they care for each other.

And don't get me started on the testosterone-filled, bullshit scene in the end between Jordan and Paula. Am I really supposed to take that seriously?

This book was a big bunch of nope. I waited years before actually buying it, and I'm disappointed I wasted the money.

One of those unexpected love situations with a little bit of thrilling suspense. It was a companionable read but nothing worth feeling excited about or worth a re-read.
