wonderful dark BDSM

This is a little dark, but not especially dark really. It does have a decent amount of BDSM though. Quite a few smutty scenes as well as some action and mystery. Just an awesome story and there is nice HEA at the end

Great start to a sizzling new series. Lark was hoping to just raise some funds for her favorite animal shelter by participating in a charity auction. Lachlan owns an exclusive kink club in DC and when he purchases a date with Lark, he has no plans to ever let her go. Fast-paced read with intense chemistry, loads of drama, emotion and suspense. I loved it.

Required Surrender is steamy standalone novel which is the first entry in the Carnal Sins Series. There's no cheating or cliffhanger and complete with a oh so satisfying happily-ever-after. A brilliantly crafted story with two damage people that had me riveted from the prologue all the way through until the last line. A twisted, depraved and sadistic story that packs an emotional punch. It was dark, emotional, and messed like only Piper can tell. She makes villains easy to love and appeasing. "This book is seriously addicted a definite page turner! Super, hot, steamy and intense with the perfect amount of twists and turns in the plot that you just won't see coming." I instantaneous bonded with the heroine of the story and of course Mr. McKenzie. YUM. The series starts off with a bang.

He was amuse yet turn on he didn't know if he wanted drag her over his knees in the coffee shop or continue yelling at her. The two would soon run into each other again after Lark best friend was hosting a bachelorette party at Club Carnal Sins. The beautiful redhead is sassy, fiesty, strong-will, challenging, and defiant with a caustic mouth. Lachlan couldn't stop thinking about her. She has awaken feelings that he had long thought been dead. They were both instantly attracted to each other. But when Lachlan found out that she was Senator Winston daughter he decided to participate in charity auction hosted by Senator Winston where Lark will be one of the participant to stick it to her dad since he had been causing Jameson trouble in their club in Miami by having it raided by the police.
But he also want to explore the dark desire that as awaken in him. He bid on her for five million dollars, the date was suppose to be for one day and one night. But with five million dollars he changed the terms of deal to one week. Since Lark love animals she went along with the deal. However, this deal didn't just include dinner it also includes sex. They were combustible and explosive together and after a week he realize that a week wasn't enough for him, and that he was going to keep her forever. But Senator Winston was working in the background with is secret group known as Underground Society to destroy Lachlan and frame him for murder. This group consists of powerful men such as senator's, lawyers, doctors, businessman etc. There was so much things going on in this story and unexpected twists and turns that will have you guessing way until the end. She's the chaos to my order, the light my darkness. She everything he never knew that he crave. Dare her to her accept my depravity by mixing it with pleasure she never known. I must say that this is a one click one must read, once I started reading I couldn't stop I was reading in between breaks and way pass bedtime. So freaking good! This book was hard to put down. The main characters were well and truly flawed, but readers can definitely relate to them.

Also, are you telling me that this girl fell in love with the guy the bought her, brought down a underground political regime, and entered a permanent D/s relationship having never been involved with BDSM before…. IN A WEEK?

Another dark and delicious listen by Piper Stone.
This is book one in a trilogy of stories about 3 friends who run a kink club called Carnal Sins..making it one of the most successful clubs in DC.
The 3 men are powerful and have enemies and these books are the stories of how they meet their matches when they find the woman they fall in love with.
This is Lachlan's book he is of SCOTTISH Heritage his family were rumoured to have connections with the Mafia.Lachlan had a chequred past that gives him a bad reputation.
Lark is the senators daughter and a budding lawyer and she has just been handed a murder case to defend a man being accused of murder...he was accused of killing his girlfriend and he had been to Carnal Sins with her.
The first time Lachlan and Lark meet it isn't a very good encounter,because Lark spills coffee all over his pristine white shirt.Lachlan is as mad as hell and wants to show her some discipline.
It seems like fate keeps bringing them together as they meet next while Lark is at her friends bacherlorette party,and her friends dare her to ask Lachlan to give her a tour of his famous club...which he does but he has conditions..(wink,wink)
The next time they meet is on purpose because Lark is bought at a charity auction ..by who ..yes of all people Lachlan...For 5 million dollars she has to spend one week with him...submitting to him..and being exposed to his BDSM life style.
What occurs then is a sexual affair and Lark's sexual exploration of being a submissive ,awakening her to all kinds of desires she never knew she had....And she finds herself falling in love with Lachlan the master of her passion,her heart and her body.
But Lachlan is keeping a secret and there is the matter of Lark being disobedient and sassy plus she was a lawyer investigating one of the clients at his club.
With a killer on the loose using BDSM and kink clubs as a cover for murder were Carnal Sins is put in the spotlight.

This is such a very engaging story full of Steam and action..Piper Stone weaves a story of Sex,Murder,deception,intrigue and love.
I really enjoyed listening to Required Surrender narrated by Skylar Morgan who plays every single character and does an Amazing job at it.
It was a pleasure to listen to his voice.
Another wonderfully entertaining well written story from Piper.

First impressions they say are everything and a charity auction gone wrong or did it go wrong so hang on and double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love (ALL THINGS TO EXPECT FROM THE MAFIA WORLD). By the time you’ve figured out who is who and what is what, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! CAN’T SAY YOU WEREN’T WARNED!!!!! Lachlan sexy as all get out richer than everything, grumpy, joint owner with his friends of a BDSM club has a run in with a woman that ignites a fire within something he hasn’t felt in a while, but meeting the way they did wasn’t planned words spoken, tempers flared and now he must have her submission. Lark is a feisty, hot to temper, sweetheart the daughter of a senator but he isn’t in her life in fact she is an attorney working a case of several young women murdered yep, her father’s hands are in the mess of it all and now an encounter with grump richer than rich arrogant man leaving her with a sour taste. A best friend who talks her into joining the auction and of course said grump makes the winning bid buying her submission for one week but this is where the ride really gets good because so many do not want her with this man the problem for them both is the attraction is off the charts and the magnetic pull between them can’t be ignored so feelings were bound to develop between them but with people working against them will he keep her safe, what does her father have to do with the murders of young girls, will she give him an honest chance, will they be honest with each other about the growing feelings, will she like his world of BDSM, will they figure out who is after them or trying to keep them a part, and is there happiness on this ride of craziness?

Lawyer Lark Winston agrees to participate in a charity auction as part of a “save the animals“ fund raiser, but when uber alpha Lachlan McKenzie places an outrageously HUGE bid, AND makes that bid contingent on changing the terms of the “date”, little does Lark know that putting her beloved animals first just might cost her everything … Definitely not for the tame, “Required Surrender” captured my attention immediately! This masterfully written story flows beautifully, spinning a web of intrigue that immediately draws the listener into a twisted, tense, complex and engrossing story! No spoilers! I don’t want to give anything away! I found the flow of the to be exquisitely smooth, with ALL the information needed to thoroughly understand both the story AND the characters placed perfectly, allowing me to remain focused and engaged throughout! The characters are well defined and deeply developed. They resonate as “real” and as the story progressed I found myself forming opinions on whether I liked or loathed them, and whether I would want to associate with them! In a few instances, as the characters evolved with the story, my mind changed! I’ll keep hush on who! One thing I won’t keep hush on is the beauty of the narration! This story comes beautifully alive with perfectly paced, perfectly timed, emotionally on point narration that perfectly captures the vision of the author! I enjoyed everything about this five star production!

“No one has sparked the darkness inside me for a very long time.”

This was a hard review to write. There is a lot to like about the book. The story itself was interesting and I really liked both main characters as well as a number of secondary ones. I really loved the relationship between the the three college friends and am looking forward to their stories. The problem I had, and it’s a big one, was the inferior writing in this book, which is not something I’d expect in one of Piper’s books. It was inconsistent and all over the place. In some ways it’s like two different people wrote two similar stories at the same time without discussing it with each other and then the two parts were blended together. Too often characters changed the subject they were talking about suddenly, for no reason. Actions began and then stopped without completion. Things people said contradicted themselves. Sometimes they repeated themselves in words and in actions. Moods and emotions were back and forth so much I got whiplash. And there were way too many continuity errors. All of this took what would have been a four or four and a half star book and made it at best a three. While the plot and characters were great, this is not one of Piper’s best books. Too bad because it was actually fun seeing old friends from Club Darkness. Hopefully the next book in this series will be back up to her normal standards.

Ms Stone does it again! A cracking story full of steam with 2 likeable MCs.

Lachlan - one hot as hell Scot - is a joint owner of a BDSM club, moody, richer than Buffet and enigmatic.

After a chance 'run in' with a furious Lark - daughter of a senator and a junior lawyer - their encounter ignites a fire in both of them, with an extraordinary outcome.

Lachlan becomes quickly obsessed with the sassy and intelligent Lark and 'buys' her services at a charity auction. Cue the steam, oodles of it!

Of course Piper Stone will never be satisfied with a straight smexy tale, this is a complex plot with the murders of several young women and a society run by the old boys club. Who is covering up these murders? Is Lark's estranged senator father involved?

The narrative is solidly written the dose of BDSM realistic. The chemistry between the 2 MC"s is palpable but it is Lachlan who steals the show, evidently and unapologetically smitten with Lark from the get go.

I would have liked just a little more push back from Lark as she acquiesced to him pretty much immediately, but hey I'm a drama queen, always enjoying the angst.

Ms Stone never disappoints though. This is a page turning read, great Scot!.

Oh man this book is so deliciously awesome and will have hooked not being able to turn the pages fast enough! From the very independent sassy I can take on anybody Lake to the steamy, hot Lachlan dominating present they will have you wanting a fan to cool you down! There is much to in this book I love the Constant back and forth between the characters is a lot of fun, mystery that has you guessing what going on , the steamy scenes that kinda starts right away gave me butterflies! The man girl has had to do everything her daddy says with no love in return the way I see it Lachlan sees everything this wonderful strong woman is need of and what she secretly wants but is scared of. Him being who he is more than happy to help her learn to relax and make her see not everything she thinks is true about what the lifestyle or him. When things start coming up will they let it happen who fight what is starting to feel among other things? This is amazing page turner, twisted, action packed. Lots of crime and a happy ending book! It’s a keeper if you ask me and I can’t wait to continue this new adventure addictive lose sleep over series! :).

Lachlan McKenzie and his friends Jameson Starks and Grant Wilde had big plans for their future. They were going to make it big and kinky. Fast forward, the guys have made it to the top. Their goal to open Carnal Sins is a success. What more can they want. Lark may be a senator’s daughter, but she is a hard-working nose to the grindstone attorney. She just happens to be having a very bad day, spilling her coffee on the wrong man, Lachlan McKenzie. And it goes from bad to worst. They are meeting again, and things start to heat up. It gets really heated when Lark is part of an auction her father put together for a good cause. Now she is at Lachlan’s mercy but honestly is she really? Yes, he is a cad but these two crackle and spark when they are together. He just needs to find a way to tame down her anger. Things do heat and the mystery continues. You never are sure who is the real villain. I look forward to stories about Jameson and Grant.

Required Surrender is Piper Stone's 1st book in the Carnal Sins Series. This is Lachlan and Lark's dark romance. Lachlan McKenzie is the owner of Carnal Sins, DC's kink club. He has his own set of rules and chooses who will be approved as members. The fee is Five hundred thousand. Lachlan's biggest challenge will be Lark. She is a strong willed woman and always does as she wants. Their 1st meeting happened by accident. There is so much sizzling chemistry between these two. Lark and her boyfriend split and Lachlan hadn't been in a relationship in awhile. If you enjoy BDSM, dark romances and a lot more this is an exciting read.
Piper is a talented book author and I look forward to many others.

Lark runs into Lachlan, literally and spills her coffee and then manages to put him in his place (but grabs his attention at the same time). She ends up at his club for her friend's bachelorette party and words are thrown at each other and the sparks fly. That is just the beginning....he finds out she is going to be in an auction to raise money for different charities and he also finds out who her father is ( a senator wanting to destroy kink clubs) so he decides he has to have her a win-win situation for him. The story just grows from there with murder and intrigue. We are also introduced to his 2 best friends that he has started Carnal Sins with and am assuming that we will get there books in the future (fingers crossed).

The book is hot and has Piper's typical steamy scenes. The main characters find themselves as their relationship develops and they also untangle from things that are holding them back. Typical Piper story and I love them.

Better than the other book I've read by this author - read on KU

I would have given this book 4 stars but there was too much time spent at the beginning with the FMC going back and forth about her feelings for the MMC in her head. About the first 30 to 40% had entirely too much inner dialogue from both characters.
The spicy scenes were relatively well done. I suspect someone in that lifestyle would say it wasn't accurate and would take issue with some of the terminology/ explanations, but I'm only familiar from reading other books, so I could be wrong.

I liked the mystery, but it could have been better developed. And as I already stated, it took too long to get to that part of the book.

This publisher seems to like to pad the length of their books with blurbs from way too many similar books or books by the same author. The story ended at 84%. Everything after that was titles and one paragraph blurbs. I HATE that. But that isn't on the author.

I will try the next in the series.

Required Surrender by Piper Stone is the First book in the Carnal Sins Series. This is the story of Lark Winston and Lachlan McKenzie. Lachlan is the son of a Scottish mafia Dom who while at college at the University of Pennsylvania he meets his best friends Jameson Starks and Grant Wide. They vow to make something of themselves. Now about 20 years later they are very rich and powerful men. Lark is the daughter of of the U.S Senator Marshal Winston and she is also a lawyer. Lark by accident happens to meet Lachlan and spilled coffee might have been involved. Later, Lachlan happens to see her at one of his clubs. Lachlan and his friends own several clubs and has one in the DC area called the Carnal Sins. Lachlan is becoming obsessed with Lark and 'buys' her at a charity auction for the week. This may have some trigger issues for some. Loved this book and can't wait to read more from this series and author.

Lark and Lachlan have a chance meeting when she spills coffee on him – she isn’t too fond of him as she sees him as dark, dangerous and somewhat conceited! Lark gives Lachlan a piece of her mind and is probably the first woman who has stood up to him. He is drawn to her and finds out that she is part of an upcoming auction for charity. Of course, Lachlan goes all out and changes the terms – instead of a date, he wants a full week with Lark.

Buckle up as there are many factors to this story – you have betrayal, deception, blackmail, a setup, and lots of secrets revealed. Who can be trusted and who is telling the truth? It’s hard to tell when you have politicians, mafia and corruption aplenty! A few twists and turns will make it difficult to put this book down. Looking forward to the next book in this series.

It all started when straight-laced jr attorney Lark Winston (daughter of a senator) accidentally bumps into Lachlan McKenzie the CEO of Carnal Sins a BDSM club. While they don't have a great first impression it doesn't stop them from having naughty thoughts about each other long after.
Then karma, circumstance or maybe fate brings them back together life will never be the same.

Buckle up for tantalizing story of seduction, mystery, murder, betrayals and hidden agendas.

+I really enjoyed this book. The story is about a man named Lachlan who owns a kink club and Lark a woman who does not like him. The two begin a relationship and she realizes he's not all that bad and she's far more into kink than she thought. Lark also works at a law firm and is working on a murder case that is far closer to Lachlan and his community than she thinks.

I enjoyed seeing the relationship progress between the two characters and the sex scenes were steamy. The second half of the book is where things start getting interesting. I do have to admit there wasn't as much mafia stuff as I'm used to and most of the book does simply focus on Lark and Lachlan's relationship which isn't a bad thing but I think the story might have worked well even without the mafia elements. All in all I thought it was a good story and am interested to see where the series goes.

OMG! Wow, I am breathless after reading this astonishing book, the story was exhilarating and the characters were absolutely captivating. This book was about Lark and Lachlan, the action, suspense, danger, killings, lies. Lachlan and his two best friends went into business together and bought the special Clubs. Lachlan went to an auction, he made sure that he got Lark, there were some people that didn't want him to have Lark. The chemistry between them was of hate, then over time it turned into something different. Can they fall in love when she is a Lawyer and he is into the bdsm scene that could be charged a criminal offence.

A sexy story with a story…who would have thought those two plots could be in one book. Okay, okay, don’t get your panties in a wad. Of course, we all know they can but the suspense in this book kept me reading and reading and wanting to figure out who the killer is and it is not who you might think. The care given by Lachlan is really tender and he knows his limits as well as Lark’s limits. I will say I thought Lark was a little too gung-ho jumping right in while at the same time poo-pooing it. Also, I don’t think we got the real story, I know the villain is revealed but why did they do it? Is that going to continue in the next story? I hope so.

I hope there is a story for Jameson and Jackie.

Lachlan, Grant and Jameson had all been friends from freshman year at University of Pennsylvania. They had to decided toward the end of college to go into business together, the idea for Carnal Sins was born. Twenty years later they have several locations.

Lachlan and Lark cross paths where she throws coffee on him. He sees her later that night at his club with her girlfriends and she is still just as bratty as before. The two are about to intersect even more than they thought.

Lark agrees to participate in a charity auction, it is supposed to be for a date, but ends up being his for the week. The chemistry between them is explosive. I hope the other guys each get their own book.

Lachlan and his 2 best friends from college, Grant and Jameson, use their education and money to open Carnal Sins, an elite BDSM club, catering to the kinky wealthy. When Lark Winston, an attorney, accidentally spills coffee down the front of Lachlan, this is not a good start, but there is sizzle between them. When he finds out she will be "auctioned" off for charity, he makes sure she will be his. This book is full of sizzle, steam, twists, turns, some action, and more. Awesome read and I can't wait for Grant and Jameson's stories.

He is instantly intrigued with not only her beauty, but her intelligence. An owner of a DC lifestyle club, he is into some deliciously hot and kinky stuff. Those scenes are incredible. When Lark's life is in danger because of her investigating as well as who her father is, Lachlan will pull in every resource to save her. Their happily ever after is even better than usual. Piper Stone has really written a good one here. It is absolutely worth the one click.

Interesting

A good first book in this series, Laclan MacKenzie is head of one of the three Carnal Sins sex clubs that he and his two closest friends built from scratch they are being hounded by a Senator Winters who is trying to close them down no one knows why as he has his own dirty secrets. When the Senators daughter Lark literal bumps into him and spills her coffee all down him the fireworks begin, he then makes it his business to win Lark at a charity auction and begins her education in the world of bdsm and Carnal Sins. There is something happening in the background and people trying to bring down the clubs and Laclan with it. It is a good read with an interesting storyline and strong characters.

The auction was for was for charity or so she thought. When the winning bidder offers $5,000,000 but with his own added stipulations Lark is sold to the kink lord. Lark must stay with him for an entire week. He arranges for a leave of absence from her law firm just as she is trying to gear up to defend an accused murderous member of the kink club, Carnal Sins, and a prominent member of her father’s. There is more to Lachlan, her master for a week than she knows. This is a super mystery thriller that will keep you on edge. There are triggers so be warned. I recommend this book for mystery BDSM romances.

Don’t expect to put this book down until you turn the last page!
Lark’s fantasies about the abominable Lachlan will heat up the sheets, but her first face to face with him is one for the records book! If only Lachlan and Lark could so easily forget the incident. At her father’s insistence, Lark is auctioned off to raise funds for her charity and Lachlan wins the bid with an outrageous sum of money and terms. As Lachlan brings Lark’s hidden fantasies to life, their lives become intertwined with a murder investigation that wreaks of Lachlan’s past. Piper weaves a web of intrigue and suspense that will have you screaming at the end!

A lovely story about 2 opposites who meet and you would think that Lachlan McKenzie who is the CEO of a Kink-club attorney Lark Winston would get along but nothing could be further from the truth because sparks fly right between them , the chemistry and attraction is great. They meet at a charity auction and she wants something for the animals. Since Lachlan is used to getting everything as a billionaire and he sees her he bids on her and she gets introduced to the BDSM scene. This was a wonderful book with a dark edge.

Another Piper Stone fantastic story. Lachlan, an alpha Dom, has gone into business with his college friends and they have opened a BDMS club, Carnal Sin. He happens to see Lark at his BDSM club and then after her friend talks her into joining the auction Lachlan wins a week with Lark. There is plenty of attraction between then and now she has to submit to him for a week. The book has betrayals, fire, deceit, Dom/Sub, BDSM, and lots of sizzling steam. Will they get to have their HEA and will they find out who is after them to keep them away from each other? I highly recommend it.

A very enjoyable read. I loved the main characters in this story. They are both very strong individuals, who have both had not the best upbringing but had molded them into who they are today. When Lachlan bids and wins Lark in a charity auction the sparks fly right away. What was to be one night turns into a week. And typical of a Piper Stone book, a week together becomes so much more as corruption, mystery and intrigue soon find a way into their week together. It was a very enjoyable story-line for sure. I loved the connection Lark and Lachlan have.
