This book is false advertising. Please don't read this and come to Sweden expecting, well, this.
1. We are not this welcoming. No way would we let a stranger live in our house for free, weeks on end.
2. Swedish men are not this hot. Honestly they are all so mediocre.(The Skarsgårds are the exception, not the rule unfortunately)
3. I cannot see three Swedish men willingly living in one small house together either, especially up north were it's much cheaper to live. We are too introverted for that shit. We have the highest percentage of single households in the world(afaik).
4. Swedish men are often just very self-centred.
5. Hate Swedish men(seriously get me out of this country)
This is not an accurate representation of northern sweden.
Where are the epa tractors, snus and misogyny??

If there was a Swedish consultant on this project(which I am not sure there was in the first place), they didn't do that good of a job. There were some cute thing nostalgic things that made me smile, and seeing one of the mmc say I love you in Swedish the first time was a bit heartwarming ngl.
But overall, so many things do not add up.
Lets start with the names of the Swedish mountain men. Only one of them - Eli - would actually work in Swedish, even if it's very uncommon. The other two, Cole & Riven do actually not work at all. Cole, no one would be able to pronounce. Riven literally translates to scratched in Swedish?!? I waited for an explanation for that the whole book but it never came.
I know I am nitpicking at this point, but I have to mention the food as well.
WDYM SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS?!? Served with a caesar salad?!?
Meatballs are a staple in the Swedish cuisine, but always served with mashed potato, sauce, picked cucumber and lingon. Not fkn spaghetti😭
Also, Eli is way too affectionate to be Swedish. Might be the reason I liked him the most though.
As is common with RH, it can be heavy on the steamy stuff and might be lighter on the plot.
This book also falls into that bucket. There's not a lot of plot to this and what we have to go on is honestly just very illogical. Like you're telling me the FMC SHIPPED HER CAR TO NORTHERN SWEDEN FOR A SPONTANEOUS TRIP?? It all falls apart if you just give it two thoughts tbh.

All that said, I had such a fun time hating on this. I was cackling to myself reading it, giving you updates and then writing this review. So giving two stars for that. If you're not Swedish you might enjoy this more than I did. If you are Swedish and need a hate read, this is the perfect match.

now that ive read all of Lily Gold’s books... it’s safe to say she legit just writes the same story in a slightly different font. with the three same men in a slightly different font.

Omggg this was so fun!
Daisy goes to the north sweden to hide from her awful break up and rumours. She meets the guys immediately on her first day.
Their relationship develops pretty fast which I LOVED!
Like literally it took days.
The guys are all amazing in their own ways. Eli is flirty and caring. Riven is serious and smart. Cole is brooding and grumpy but secretly sweet. I loved all of them.
They all live in the cabin in the arctic circle while there is a storm after storm. So forced proximity is there. And I enjoyed every second of it.
May I meet my own set of three swedish mountain men🙏🏻

I loved this.
It was sexy and fun and yet this author insists on making my heart hurt with the horrendous pain she puts her characters in.
I’m just really loving her writing style.
All three books I’ve read sort of follow the same ebbs and flows, so I sort of know When things will sort of explode. But still I’m not bored or upset by it. Each book and each character has their own unique story and hardship, it makes everything new again.
I loved these characters.
I loved how they grew together and helped each other along the way.
The plot was fun and also heartbreaking at the same time. Daisy’s ex is a piece of shit and everyone around her sucked ass for the way they treated her.
I love that they got a little justice at the end.
I just really enjoyed reading this.
I’ve fallen in love with this author’s style and I will forever be checking back for new releases now that I’m zipping through all of the back log.

I loved Faking With Benefits and Nanny for the Neighbors but this one reallllllly didn’t work for me.
Maybe it’s because of the heavy subject matter. We learn immediately that the heroine is fleeing her home in Brighton for Sweden because her life has gone up in flames, at the fault of her ex-boyfriend. She lost her job, has been all over the news, is being attacked in person and online, her family and friends have turned their backs on her. It’s alluded to but not confirmed what happens until near the end of the book.
This was just… heavy… like I said. It’s not *fun* to read about a woman whose life falls apart because of the abusive and illegal actions of someone else. Even in Sweden in this super small town, a drunk man rants at her in Swedish (so she can’t understand) calling her a whore and a prostitute, grabbing her and saying he wanted to take her home to fuck her and his wife wouldn’t mind. This book didn’t have any of the light, funniness off the previous books I read from Lily Gold.
CW: abusive ex, release of sex tape without consent, harassment online and in person, car accident, past framing / put in prison

Lily Gold will forever have me in a chokehold
I devour her books like they’re candy. They’re so fun, entertaining, swoony, and yet I always come out feeling like I was heard/seen/validated. Lemme explain:
She writes about strong women. She also happens to write about the bad things that happen to women. The story doesn’t entirely revolve around that (it’s still a rom-com/drama) but it’s present.
We all know the world is unfair towards women. We know there has been little justice towards those who have wronged us. But Lily Gold gives us, well, gives these FMCs, that—justice, affirmation. These books may seem unrealistic or like a utopia but I find it cathartic. That ending? BEAUTIFUL. I cried, I was so pleased and proud.
Daisy was such a great FMC. I think I have loved every single FMC of Gold’s and I’m glad she didn’t disappoint. The mystery that surrounded her (that even the audience wasn’t quite sure of), her snark and wit and kindness, and the absolute ownership of her sexuality, that is the making of a fantastic character.
The men were precious. Eli was everything, Riven was warm and cozy, and Cole was an asshole you couldn’t help but love. I enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers aspect from Cole surprisingly, he was sus in the beginning but he almost stole the show by the end. They were each so unique, and surprisingly deep. Plus, they were Swedish, living tucked away in the mountains, how much better can they get?
The smut? It will always be top tier. It’s hot af 🥵.
The dramatic plot point that happened near the end ❄️ was a little too dramatic for me, it kinda took me outta the scene. Combine that with a rash decision that was OOC for the men and I took away a star.
Was this my favorite of hers? No

Is it rereadable? Absofreakinglutely

Some spoilers in this and a bit all over the place, but ya know, when in Sweden.
I liked this more than I thought I would and definitely a lot more than the last Lily Gold book that I read (Faking With Benefits). Thank you to my Goodreads friends who encouraged me to give this a try--I'm glad I did! The story was good, and I especially loved the setting. I'm a sucker for a snowy setting and a story where the characters get trapped together. The characters were fine--I didn't hate any of them. Overall, I ate this up. I finished it in less than 24 hours. It's an extremely easy and palatable book to read.
I think my main issue with Lily Gold books is that I don't care about her characters at all, and because of that, I don't care about their spicy scenes at all (which is problematic when the book is heavily weighted on spice). As I was reading this very smutty book, I was thinking about how I couldn't get into any of the spice--I just wasn't feeling it. Technically, I think the author did all the right things; she had all the right variety and popular booktok tropes and dirty talk and so on, but I don't give a single shit about any of these characters so everything else just felt superficial. The nature of how the 3 guys have just decided to always date the same woman just feels so unrealistic to me in the modern world--how do you get to that point? I know this is a fictional story, and I'm pretty accepting of a lot of shit in books, but I think we are owed a better explanation of how these guys fit in with the modern world. These guys tell you almost immediately that they only date the same woman, but yet they never even discuss whether there is an attraction between them. That's fine if there's not, but it felt like it should be mentioned given they're so insistent on dating together. Everything about these characters just didn't feel realistic so I had a hard time seeing them as real characters that I could connect with or even digest as real people. I could tell that the author put in the effort to give at least Riven and Eli some sort of tragic background to make them interesting characters, but even both of their stories were sooooo wild and a bit out of the blue that I was like wait WHAT...and then they moved on really quickly. Like, the fact that Eli got framed by their ex girlfriend and went to jail for a year just was such a wild unbelievable story. Riven's parents being millionaires who bribe him to come see them after they played a part in sending Eli to jail? Like this is wild shit that did not get enough page time. Weirdly enough, Colt was my favorite of the 3 even though he arguably had the smallest role. When the other guys fell into immediate insta-love with Daisy, he was the only interesting one who held out for a little while.
I found Daisy a bit inconsistent. Daisy went along with the whole poly relationship fairly quickly, which I found mostly surprising given that her past trauma is related to a sexual encounter that led to her being shunned and labeled promiscuous. At the beginning of the story, she is refusing to even let Riven (a doctor) look at her ribs because she's so self conscious/doesn't want to pull up her shirt, and yet within like 1 more day of being at the cabin, she's diving headfirst into a threesome with no hesitations. It just felt like she really flipped a switch very quickly in a way that didn't really make sense.
It also took way too long for anyone to mention that revenge porn is illegal. If the 3 guys were able to tell in 30 seconds that the sex tape was recorded without Daisy's consent, how did the entire country of England believe that it was an intentionally created porn video?
Anyways, this was entirely unbelievable and wildly unrealistic in a way that made it difficult to become fully invested or immersed in, but entertaining nonetheless.

oh my GOD, i’m in love. this was perfection from start to finish.
daisy, our heroine, escapes to sweden for anonymity and a reprieve after the end of her relationship turned into her personal hell. while she’s driving her tiny car on the snowy roads, a moose runs by and she swerves and hits a tree but luckily, three strapping men are on the road and bring her to their cabin for safety.
when i tell you this book was perfect, i’m not exaggerating. daisy was the perfect heroine. she was funny, strong, and was the perfect balance for all three guys. i want to be her best friend and get revenge on anyone who hurt her.
the heroes were ALL amazing. eli was the purest golden retriever hero and he was obsessed with her from the start. riven is the kind of fictional man you wish was real because he’s perfect. and cole was so grumpy but sometimes in a why choose, the grumpy one and the heroine have basically no connection until they’re boinking but the little easter eggs he planted of how he actually cared for her were so adorable.

This was a fun and steamy read, but it didn’t quite reach “all-time favorite” level for me. It kinda gave me Credence vibes in the spicy aspect and that she was stuck up with three men in the mountains. (iykyk LOL 🥵)
The story follows Daisy, who flees her hometown after a terrible situation with her ex and ends up in the snowy wilderness of Sweden. After nearly crashing into a moose during a storm, she’s rescued by Eli, the charming and playful ski instructor, and Cole, the gruff, closed-off mountain ranger who instantly dislikes her. Add in Riven, the cautious but caring doctor, and Daisy finds herself tangled up in the lives of three very different men who all share everything—including women. 👀🔥
I really enjoyed the setup and the dynamic between Daisy and the guys. Eli’s flirty energy, Riven’s steady warmth, and Cole’s grumpy walls made for a great balance, and watching Daisy slowly fit into their world was engaging. I also liked that her past secret added a layer of tension to the story. I was so eager to find out what had her running for the hills and so scared to show her identity.
That said, I found myself wishing for more depth and emotional development in the relationships. Things moved pretty fast, with a lot of focus on the intimate side, and I wanted more time spent on the softer, emotional connections between Daisy and each man. The potential was definitely there, and if the pacing had slowed down a bit to allow for that, it would’ve packed a stronger punch.
Overall, it’s an entertaining, snowy, steamy read with likable characters and a fun reverse harem dynamic. If you’re looking for a quick, spicy escape, it delivers, but if you crave more emotional layers and relationship growth, it may leave you wanting just a little more.

Conclusion: Lily gold here is trying to cover up the fact that there is no chemistry between the characters with sex scenes……..like any other authors with no chemistry between their characters.

Plot
Daisy needs an escape from her daily life in England and head over heals travels to the north of Sweden. She gets into a accident and wouldn't you know it: 3 Swedish Mountain Man™. Due to an incoming snowstorm she's forced to stay with them for the time being.
Opinion
I had a hard time in the beginning. The plot felt rushed, the writing was plain and offbeat and I nearly DNF'd the whole thing at some point when one of the 3 Swedish Mountain Man™ (the one being a medical doctor...) didn't dare ask the woman to her face about her period/ if she needed tampons. Yeah.
Yet I was annoyed enough that it could only improve from there on and that it did.
Something I really enjoyed was the backstory of the different (main) characters; yes they were dramatic but everything made sense and fit the overall vibe I got.
The supporting characters fulfilled their purpose and felt like they existed solely to fit into the narrative and thus came across without nuance and flat. But they also don't get a ton of screentime so it honestly didn't bother me too much.
I also enjoyed the FMC's confidence in all matters spice -related and if you enjoy forced proximity, found family and a grouchy as well as a fluffy and cuddly MMC this could be for you. While not extraordinary I enjoyed the spice and would also rate it 3/5 🌶️.
Overall I had fun and I'd say it fits its genre. If you're looking for a light and fun read give it a go and let the 3 Swedish Mountain Man™ conquer your thoughts.

Well this was a super fun read, a quick and steamy one, too! I absolutely adored Nanny for the Neighbors and Faking With Benefits, and I knew I'd love this one too. What I didn't expect was for it to be so SWEET. Daisy is running from her past, in a big way. New name, new her, new country...she's on holiday in Sweden when she almost hits a moose, and hits a tree instead. She's rescued by grumpy Cole and sweet Eli, and taken back to their cabin in the woods. Literally, it's pretty far from civilization and the snow is coming down thick. She's snowed in with strange men...and then she meets Riv.
Three hot men and no where to go, what's a girl to do? Or who? Kidding, it didn't happen quite like that, but as the men are used to sharing, and they're all alone in a snow globe, you can imagine how things progressed. Loved it! Their dynamic was great, the story kept me interested, and I loved all of the Swedish things...and men. HATED what poor Daisy went through, it's so true that women are villainized for evil men's actions, and people treated her terribly. Good for Daisy for brushing off her evil ex and all the bullshit and finding happiness.

Jag var väldigt taggad på att få läsa om norra Sverige för det är ett så fint landskap. Det finns mycket att hämta där om man lägger upp det rätt. Dessvärre verkar det som att författaren inte har gjort någon som helst research inför den här boken. Två fenomenala exempel på det:
De svenska karaktärerna heter Cole, Riven och Eli (Har ingen lärt författaren att nyckeln till att skriva en bra bok börjar med trovärdighet???? Oskar, Axel och William hade varit mycket mer trovärdigt.)
-20°C och snöbollskrig? Hur lyckas de forma snöbollar med lössnö? Det hade varit intressant att veta. Uppenbarligen saknas personlig erfarenhet av snö och minusgrader.

I’m obsessed with every book Gold has written and this one was so different. It was absolutely beautiful and I loved it so much I couldn’t put it down. The characters were great, the plot beautifully written, and the men absolutely hot hot hot. I need more. I always want more. Guess I’m just greedy that way.

I'll keep this one short and straight to the point. This one was my least favorite so far of the three books I've read by Lily Gold… and that's just a sad feeling to have because I really liked the previous two.
It felt very quick, sudden and honestly not that believable, when both previous books felt like real stories that could have happened and where honest connections were made between our FMC and the men. Don't get me wrong, I still liked our characters and of course the spiciness as usual is there 100%, but these just felt like strangers who happened to end up together.
Also the ex is randomly in town following her and then that never gets commented on again... did he just go back home? Like he was literally on the phone with one of the guys and it's like that never happened. I felt like some of the comedic, lighthearted elements from the previous books were missing in this one, making it much heavier and dark than i was expecting.
Overall it was okay, but not my favorite so far.

“I cannot believe this is happening. I’m sitting between two men making a move on me, and neither of them knows the other one is doing it. This is simultaneously the hottest and most awkward experience of my life.”
-This story just didn’t really work for me, but I don’t hate it (hence the three star rating). The premise is this: Daisy is a young woman from the UK looking to lay low after an awful incident (the reader is kept in the dark for most of the book, but it’s fairly easy to surmise what happened early on). She travels to Sweden thinking she can 1. Be as isolated as possible, and 2. See the Northern Lights. Daisy immediately gets into a nasty car accident and is ‘saved’ by three handsome men. One starts to flirt with her, then another, and finally she ends up in a why choose scenario.
-I kept seeing people post about this book online, saying it is not only good, but very spicy. I’m sorry, but the spice was bland. I thought it was a pretty run-of-the-mill, and not super unique in any way. I love smut, but a huge part of that enjoyment is feeling invested in the characters. I never felt a strong sense of who Daisy, Eli, Riven, and Cole were (other than being attractive individuals). Eli came across as a manic pixie dream boy, Daisy was a mary sue, Riven was actually my favorite (but his groveling was weak), and Cole was such a dick.
-The why choose trope doesn’t make a lot of sense in contemporary romances; when it’s between one FMC and multiple MMCs wouldn’t that just be a polyandrous relationship? At least in paranormal, scifi, and fantasy romances there’s some kind of supernatural element that brings the characters together.

I went into this because
1- RH is my comfort read between heavy ones
2- I read Triple Duty Bodyguards and liked it. It surprised me because there was actually a story and the FMC was amazing.
This one was plain stupid
As someone in the education system myself, I do not like any story-line where TEACHERS are presented as stupid.
Cole kept telling Daisy "are you an idiot?" and she would get angry. But she is an idiot.
1. Your ex is blackmailing you with a smex tape and instead of reporting him immediately you go with it and on top of that you delete the texts????
2. You travel between countries without checking your car, the weather, the driving conditions.. I know she was running..but she stayed long enough to be harassed so one more day to make sure her stuff is fine should be a no brainer.
3. Every one of the men spilled their gut to you, trusted you, and you thought that a tape would lower their opinion!!! 3 men who like to share!!!..then you run off into the storm?!
... sorry..I, as a teacher, would like to think that most of us are smart and she is a highschool teacher, so an author to write this just for smut is absurd
