What happens when love, faith and desire collide in the body of a young man trying to find his way and do what he thinks is right? With each passing day, college sophomore Marcus Cooper finds it more and more difficult to love and care for his girlfriend of three years, Torie. Even though things were only getting worse, Marcus never imagined that he'd find comfort in the arms and bed of another man. Let alone Torie's twin brother, Terrance.
Marcus' journey of self-discovery and sexual awakening shakes the very foundation of his faith, his relation with his family and his love of Torie. He must navigate the volatile world of forbidden love while learning that many substitute the emotion for lust. Despite it all, Marcus struggles to come to terms with all the forces in his life pulling at him. In the end, he'll learn that the life a person thinks they should lead doesn't always fit neatly with the life that will make them truly happy.
I would like to give this book a review, but I don't know where to begin.
Enter Marcus, who is dating Torie. Torie has a twin brother Terrance who happens to have a crush on Marcus. Marcus is trying to SAVE himself for marriage, but unfortunately he is unable to because it costs him more than his virginity.
Although very well written, this book is not for the faint of heart.
I gave this a 2.5. It was okay, but I wasn't fond of the way it ended, as a couple of loose ends weren't tied up. A quick erotic read. I might read more from him, though.
I enjoyed this read even though I had a few questions. I liked Marcus but his relationship with Torie seemed more like just a friendship. I understood she was dealing with her issues but she was a little wishy washy at times. Then the way she went about things was crazy. I think she should've put Marcus in the know and not taken things further knowing about the possibility of what could come out of the abuse she suffered. As for Terrence, I was wondering why he was so comfortable in the basement. Like did he already sense Marcus was struggling with his sexuality? Made me wonder if his father had ever abused him. Omar was a shocker and had me saying whoa. Dude was in denial for sure. Marcus' mother had me mad with the way she reacted. I couldn't believe she would feel how she felt. It's what a lot of young men deal with from their parents when things come to light. I think she should've been more understanding instead of trying to making him an outcast because she felt it wasn't the Christian thing to do. Marcus is most definitely torn and I can't wait to find out how he deals with everything.
