"Fearless character arcs, razor-sharp dialogue, gut-wrenching tenderness and action that makes Top Gun look like a toddler’s bedtime story - buckle up for McCaffrey at his best…" –Joe Barrett bestselling author of Managed Care and Semi Gloss
The Claire Trilogy taught us the meaning of family and loyalty in every sense of those words through the bonding of Claire the Mule and her family of mystical misfits under the most trying of circumstances.
It's prequel, Finding Jimmy Moran, introduced the world to the magical young boy who grows into the man that leads Claire's family across the galaxy.
Where The Ley Lines Meet is what happens when the mystical misfits and their alien brethren are recalled to earth to reunite and save the world.
The storylines and characters the readers have come to love in the prior four books reappear in this continuation and conclusion of The Claire Saga. Or is it?
Tom McCaffrey is a born-and-bred New Yorker who, after a long career working as a successful entertainment attorney in Manhattan, relocated with his wife to a small town in Northern Colorado to follow a road less travelled and return to his first passion, writing. Despite the local rumors started by Claire the mule, he denies being in the Witness Protection Program.
The latest adventure of Jimmy Moran and his family of misfits. I never read so fast! It was such a fast paced story that I read it in a matter of hours. It's so good I couldn't put it down. Everyone was back in all their glory with the addition of a few added characters.
I’m a huge fan of Tom McCaffrey’s “The Claire Saga” series and this sequel (5th in the series) is his BEST ONE YET!! It captivates you ! With one-of-a-kind imaginative storylines and dialogue, hilarious one liners, memorable & cherished old characters from the first four books (must reads!) and well developed heroic new ones, you will laugh, definitely cry (have Kleenex handy) and find yourself feeling what the characters feel. This book reads like a movie. Be prepared to be completely drawn in to the world of these brave characters as they enter an epic battle, armed with love for each other, extreme courage and an empathetic AI spaceship. Feel the protective passion they have for our planet, of our freedom. Root for new romances amongst the characters. CLAIRE the extraordinary mule is back and imparts spiritual wisdom, guidance and love like no other. A very adorable show-stealing pup named Fergus makes his debut appearance in this book in a big way!! Everybody will want a Jack Russell terrier after reading this! And the ENDING will BLOW YOU AWAY!! YOU WILL HAVE TO PICK YOUR JAW (and your heart) OFF THE FLOOR!! You’ve got to read this!!!
Where The Ley Lines Meet is a novel that takes one on an amazing fast paced ride. It doesn’t fit in one genre but covers them all. The story is earthbound to intergalactic and beyond and involves humans, mystics, aliens and all things magical. McCaffrey intertwines average lives, power struggles, war and its consequences, love, friendship and family in a unique, page turning way. The ending does not disappoint. This novel stands alone but is made so much richer by reading The Claire Trilogy first.
"Where The Ley Lines Meet" is an impeccably executed grace note to the literary symphony that is The Claire Saga. Laughter, tears, flights of fancy and deep dives into the depths of human (& alien) pathos. All delivered w Tommy McCaffrey's unique blend of wry humor and raw emotional honestly. This climactic intergalactic blockbuster is a feast to be savored.
The Claire Saga is one of the very best fantasy/Si Fi series I have ever read. On the 5 point scale above I wanted to give it a 10. The creativity in bringing diverse story lines together in every complex relationship had my heart and head spinning. This Final Chapter was a very quick read, one I will go back and reread again soon. While the Claire Saga is “complete” I certainly hope that those who survived will tell us their stories in the near future.
Sci-fi spectacle, gut-busting laughs, intergalactic reunions, ass-kicking heroism, and tear-inducing goodbyes. Where The Ley Lines Meet is not only a perfect ending t o the beloved Claire Saga, but it expertly showcases the anarchy of brilliance we've come to expect from Tom McCaffrey.
I found the title hysterical, so opted to read. What a find! Quirky, fast paced and full of funny people I'd love to meet in real life!. Worth your time, and you too will be awaiting each new installment.
"I have read every one of Tom McCaffrey's books that are now known as The Claire Saga. I have been provided the opportunity to read the publisher's galley of the latest book in the series, Where The Ley Lines Meet. I know it sounds cliche, but Tom McCaffrey may have saved his best book for last. I only say "may" because, as always, the author has left a thread of hope for another book.
And there is magic in each one of these books, figuratively and literally.
Over the first four books - The Wise Ass, An Alien Appeal, Kissing My Ass Goodbye and Finding Jimmy Moran - we have been introduced to an amazing cast of characters, beginning with Claire the Magical Mule, Jimmy and Gina and the wonderful and motley crew of mystical misfits. In each book the existing individual characters all evolved and communally cohered into an unbreakable family, adding new characters drawn into the familial gravity along the way. And this isn't your normal group of heroes. They are flawed and diverse and yet still find their common bonds that they are willing to protect and die for. Claire is the center of their Universe. Indeed, she is the spiritual center of this newly forged family.
And there is love, lots of love, and even some entertaining sex.
Throughout the first four books, I laughed at all of the dark humor that permeated every page, cried with every set back and loss, and cheered with every success. The experience is breathtaking and leaves you pondering each book long after you have turned the last page. Each time I would always think, "It can't end there." And I could not put any of the books down once I started.
As a reader, I wanted to join the crew, and Tom McCaffrey's writing allowed that to happen. I felt like I was invited into every scene.
This series has the feel of a modern day Lord Of The Rings, Harry Potter and a little bit of the Twilight Saga.
And this final book is equal parts Return of the Magnificent Seven meets Guardians of the Galaxy. All of the characters you have grown to love, and a whole bunch of new ones, make there appearance in the purported finale and lay it all on the line - just remember from TWA where Bobbi says the ley lines meet. In fact, I recommend you go back and reread the first four books carefully, so you are fully ready for this experience.
Be prepared for side splitting laughter, breathtaking adventure and uncontrollable tears as Claire and her motley crew rides across the galaxy and through the heavens one more time to save the world. And say a little prayer that the threads Tom McCaffrey leaves behind at the end can be woven into another series.
And, if anyone in tinsel town reads this review, turn this incredible literary collection into the next bingeable series on Amazon, Apple or Netflix."
Having read the entire "Claire saga" and fell in love with the characters, especially Claire, and here sassy attitude and wit, I highly recommend this series. Once I started, I couldn't stop! This series will take you on a tour of your own emotions. Really enjoyed the read!!! One small correction for the author, VFA-125 is known as the "Rough Raiders", VFA-147 are THE "Argonauts", both @ NAS Lemoore, Ca. IYKYK🤪 ENJOY
Clever, touching, hilarious, unexpected, a true delight to read and I do not say that lightly. Hard to put down. Laughing out loud, grabbing unexpected tissues- both within a thoughtful plot peopled with warmly crafted characters. The whole premise is unique and I'm so glad I gave the Clare Saga a chance. Kinda sad its over, but everything tied up quite well.
This latest installment of the Claire Saga is an action-packed adventure featuring all of the characters you’ve come to love from the earlier books. An absolutely excellent read!!!
The entire Claire Saga is great. I've loved sci-fi since I was 5 years old and have rate this series right up there with some of my favs. I'm 77 now and will definitely keep looking for more books by Tom McCaffrey!
McCaffrey claims that this is the final book of The Claire Saga and although I hate to believe there will be no more to follow he has given us an epic finale.
Make sure you have read THE WISE ASS, AN ALIEN APPEAL, KISSING MY ASS GOODBY, and FINDING JIMMY MORAN so you will be able to appreciate all the characters (human, mystical, magical, animals, aliens) and their relationships of love for family. McCaffrey has created a family bonded with love with no limitations or bounds to what they will go for one another. Their love and willingness to work together for survival will keep you at the edge of your seat.
As Claire ( The Magical Mule) helps guide Jimmy Moran and his family through life's obstacles you will learn to love them as if they were your own family.
There are characters that you will love and there are those you will love to hate. Once again McCaffrey spins a storyline that will have you laughing, crying, cursing, screaming. I couldn't read fast enough because I needed to know where the storyline was going to go but then I was so sad to come to the end. Perhaps there will be another book!?
I don't want to give any spoiler alerts so I won't say more but this is a must read. As the 5th (perhaps final) book in The Claire Saga do yourself a favor and read the first 4 in order so you'll appreciate all the twists and turns, relationships and challenges, and the bonds that keep them all together.
