Off Sides

With a chance meeting, their vastly different worlds collide, causing each to evaluate whether they are truly on the correct path to self-fulfillment and happiness. Can the relationship between hockey player, Ryan Burnham, and violinist, Danny Cross survive? Particularly when others are against them every step of the way. A lot can happen in just ten short days...

Off Limits

When an accident brings Emily Burnham and Nix Caldwell together, he soon learns he is not the master of his own fate. Struggling with his own pain as a wounded Marine Corps veteran, Nix tries to guard himself against Emily’s charms. He wants her in his bed, but he doesn’t want her in his heart.

Having grabbed life by the horns, Emily wants it all. But is she willing to accept just the small part of himself that Nix is offering? Or can she reach the part of his soul that he has deemed to be Off Limits?

Off The Record

When Ever Montgomery publishes an article about Linc Caldwell containing information that she received off the record, she finds herself on the receiving end of the professional hockey player’s fury. Rather than basking in the glory of exposing Linc as a shameless user of women, she finds herself at his mercy when he demands and receives retribution. Required by her editor to trail Linc for six weeks, Ever is forced to look at the real Linc Caldwell.

And she just might find that she has misjudged him.

Off Course

If their relationship was just about sex and rock n’ roll, it would be easy for Renner Caldwell and Cillian O’Bradaigh to get lost in their desires. Only their relationship is anything but a hook-up. Will lies, deceit and hidden tragedy get in the way, making the path to true love uncertain? Or will the girl whose been knocked Off Course, find her footing with the man who is teaching her it’s okay to lose control?

Renner fled to Ireland to find herself. She found a hot, Dublin musician instead.

Off Chance

He is seeking absolution.
She is seeking escape.
Together, they have the chance to become complete.

Flynn Caldwell and Rowan Page’s worlds exist miles apart, but when a chance meeting brings them together, neither of them can deny the instant pull that connects them to each other. What starts as a tiny spark eventually flares into a fire so hot, it refuses to be extinguished.

For it to work, both of them will need to jump feet first into the flames to see where it takes them, despite the risk of being burned.

OFF SIDES:
Danny is a feisty little thing right off the bat when we first meet her, "I'm so sorry. It's just... I saw all of you sitting here, and well, forgive my ignorance, but I'm pretty sure Ockham's Razer says that among competing theories and all things being equal, the simplest theory is probably the correct one. I saw you had already looked at the menus and put them back down. Therefore, the simplest theory is that you're ready to order..." Ryan that hunka-hunka burnin' love is oh my word, "he's wearing a gray t-shirt that's soaked in sweat and a navy pair of running shorts." When you diss his woman Ryan is all up in that, "I beat the s*** out of him until he was bleeding all over the locker room floor." Ryan is also a sweet guy especially where his woman is concerned:
"I'm sorry," I eventually mumble.
"What for?" he asks gently.
"For being a basket case."
He chuckles. "Well, I have heard a rumor that women are prone to fits of emotion at times."
He's also the protective sort which I find vera-vera sexy, "listen carefully, mother, because I mean this with every fiber of my being. I am choosing love. I am choosing someone who loves me unconditionally, no matter what. It's as simple as that." These factors of Ryan are why I fell in love with this book

OFF LIMITS:
Nix is quite the character, I fell in love with him right away, "the biggest lesson that Lyla is about to learn from post-war Nix Caldwell is that he has little patience. And when it's gone he doesn't hold back." For some reason I found that extremely sexy. Even when he's being an a** I find him sexy, "you, don't." he says in a low, husky voice. "Bring me cash. Just call me when you have the first two thousand. I expect it within thirty days or else I'll come looking for you. And trust me...you don't want that to happen." Actually I'm kind of thinking I do Nixy boy! He's so cocky as well I love it, "if you want to see more of my tattoos, you only have to ask. I'll be glad to strip down and show you everything." Emily is teaching him things about himself he didn't know he had in him, and he's teaching Emily that life doesn't always have to have rules or expectations, but it's mainly Emily teaching Nix how to find himself again she's his anchor, "normally, a girl crying will freak me out and I'll do anything to get away. But now, I kind of want to take her in my arms and hold her...to reassure her that everything is okay now." He's also bringing that protectiveness that she needs in her life. Emily just has a way about her that you can't help but love, "oh, we're compatible. Your working parts and mine were in perfect alignment just a few seconds ago."

OFF THE RECORD:
Linc he's a smooth talker, "not avoiding. Just thought I'd check with you first to see if I could entice you to go to dinner with me before I answered. That way, in the interest of full disclosure, I could honestly answer whether or not I was seeing someone." He also like to take care of Ever, "now...you're going to drink your Gatorade and take two ibuprofen, then you're going to get your a** in the tub while I get us some dinner from room service. And if you don't do it, I'll put the damn Gatorade down your throat and strip you myself to put you in the tub." He has to always reassure his girl that she is that, "Ever...don't let there be any doubt that I want you. Only you. You're all I effing think about." The have open minded conversations as well, "my favorite position is any time I'm buried balls deep inside of you." As usual I loved this book!

OFF COURSE:
So I thought I loved "Off Course" but I was wrong this one is def my fave out of the series. Renner you know she's a good girl, but she's also one that speaks her mind, "of course I know who you are, Cillian O'Bradaigh, but your name doesn't impress me much. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going home...by myself." Cillian is not one to hold back what he wants, "first, I'm not pestering you. I'm trying to make it clear that I want to eff you into oblivion. Second, there is no other woman I'm interested in. Clear enough for you?" I mean he REALLY voices what he wants, "while I love staring at your gorgeous face while I'm effing you, I know this is going to be my favorite position with you. Watching you bend over for me...knowing how tight you'll be this way. It will feel good, baby. Trust me." Also Renner isn't one to beat around the bush the girl goes right to blow, "I'm just wondering... where this is going? Do you and I really even have anything in common other than the fact we like to eff each other?"

OFF CHANCE:
I didn't like this one as well as the others, I'm not sure why I just didn't think Flynn was bad boy enough. I mean he's all man, "she doesn't respond and I lean up against the bathroom door, shamelessly ogling while I can. "Are you look at my a**?" I mean he does get my blood going, "eff," he hisses. "If you keep looking at me like that, I won't be responsible for the way you walk tomorrow." And I loved being inside his head, "that's my girl. Keeping busy...earning her keep. I grin inside thinking her bent over my bathtub, and immediately start getting a boner." And he acts all man, "I pull on a pair of sweatpants and head toward the bathroom so I can take the monster of all pi**es. My bladder feels like it's going to explode." But I just don't think he was bad a** enough.

The Off Series consists of 5 books and can be read as a series or as standalone stories. Once you read one, you will want to read all 5 of them (most likely in quick succession, so clear your schedule for a couple days!).

Off Sides is the story of Danny Cross and Ryan Burnham. Danny is a waitress working to put herself through college, while spending her spare time volunteering at a shelter. Ryan is a college hockey star from an affluent family and has never known the type of struggles that Danny is facing. They meet at the diner one night when Danny waits on Ryan and a group of his rich, snotty friends. Ryan is immediately drawn to Danny, especially once she goes toe to toe with a particularly snotty member of his group. He finds himself back at the diner the next day to ask Danny out. Can Ryan and Danny overcome their differences?

Off Limits is the story of Emily Burnham (little sis to Ryan) and Nixon (Nix) Caldwell. Emily is a spoiled rich girl that is learning there is more to life than the sheltered existence she has always led. She meets Nix when she literally runs into him with her car, causing significant damage to his motorcycle. Having been put on a short trust fund leash by her parents, Emily agrees to work off her debts to Nix by providing him some administrative assistance for his business. Nix, a Marine, suffers from PTSD and a traumatic brain injury and is gruff, to put it mildly. Emily works to break down his walls, but will she succeed?

Off the Record tells the story of Ever Montgomery and Lincoln (Linc) Caldwell (brother of Nix). Linc is a hottie professional hockey player and Ever is a budding reporter. Ever writes a feature article about Linc, but lets bad information and hurt feelings drive her and she publishes a scathing article. Linc is out for redemption, and convinces her editor to assign her to follow him for six weeks and then write a truthful article at the end of their time. Will Linc be able to convince Ever that he isn't the man she portrayed? Will Ever be able to convince Linc to forgive her?

Off Course features Renner Caldwell (cousin to Nix and Linc) and Cillian O'Braidagh. Renner moves to Ireland in an attempt to get away from the demise of an embarrassing relationship. Cillian is a rock star and the lead singer of the rock band, Over the Edge. Renner and Cillian had a brief interlude 5 years prior when she was in Ireland visiting family, and shared a series of steamy kisses, but Cillian moved on to someone else within minutes and Renner was livid at what viewed as a rejection. Imagine their surprise when they end up face to face, 5 years later. Renner, still angry at Cillian, finds herself on the receiving end of his affections, but rebuffs him at every turn. Will Cillian be able to convince Renner to give him a second chance?

Off Chance is the story of Rowan Page and Flynn Caldwell (brother to Renner, cousin to Nix and Linc). Flynn is a firefighter with a hero complex after suffering a devastating loss as a teenager. Rowan is a loner in a bad relationship that finds herself on the receiving end of Flynn's heroism when he rescues her from a housefire, where she happens to be drugged and chained to a bed by her drug dealer boyfriend. He also rescues her dog, which is the first in a long line of actions that start to break down her walls. Will Flynn be able to convince Rowan that she is worthy of more? Will Rowan be able to learn to trust Flynn?

The Off Series is beautifully written and Sawyer Bennett is a pro at character development and tying up her story lines. She is able to bring a human element into her stories, while never losing sight of the romance or overall story. It is rare to find a series where it is intriguing and well-written from start to finish, but the Off Series does just that. Please do yourself a favor and pick up this box set before it's too late!

Sawyer Bennett became a favourite author for me from the first book I read. Going through a list of her books I realised I had missed a few of this series, so I bought myself this bundle as a New Year 2015 present.

I have rated each book individually but not yet left reviews - there are not enough hours in the day and I need them for reading. Individually each book merited five stars.

Reading them one after the other was a great way to see how Ms Bennett weaves and stitches words together so the books meld seamlessly into one another.

Every book, as well as being super hot and sexy with droolworthy men, taught me about something new to me almost without noticing.

Ice hockey - I am tempted now to go watch my local team (yes, we have ice hockey in the UK). MARSOC and their role. Traumatic brain injury. AmeriCorps volunteers who help clear areas after disasters. The plight of the homeless. Addiction. Inside info. on the fire department.

Sound a bit heavy...No way...these are love stories with all the roller coaster angst and passion you would expect from such an accomplished writer. And yes, they all made me cry.

One little pedantic moment if I may. In three of the books Ms Bennett comments on the timbre of the voice of whichever sex on legs is the main man...only...she spells it timber every time. This distracted me from the book as I went off on a daydream of hot lumberjacks...not so bad really.

There is a sixth book in this series which I had read. It also merited five of my stars.

Sawyer Bennett's favoured author status has jumped into the stratosphere with this series. I absolutely loved every book...and Ryan, Linc, Flynn, Cillian, Nix...Hmm...definitely Nix.

OMG I cannot believe you can get all these books together FINALLY! I flipping loved each and everyone of there books. All five star in my eyes. All completely different and unique in there own ways. You will fall in love with each and everyone of then just like I did. Each couple will pull at her heart strings, until there in there for good and there not going anywhere! Each one will be your favorite, then the next one will and the next. Until you've so many couples in your head fighting for the top spot. Good look trying to pick cause I still can't :)

I love Sawyer Bennett

I really liked all in the series, but I will say Off Limits was my absolute favorite! Nix and his tortured soul. What can I say, I love the broken ones. I love how all the books flowed into each other.

I'm not normally a big fan NA, but these were written so wonderfully, I didn't even notice they were all in their early twenties. No overly moronic immature crap.

Just another reminder why Ms Bennett is an automatic one-click for me.

Unfinished.....
I read the first 2. While I enjoyed them, they didn't have me hooked and I didn't really feel much emotion. They were easy reads that can most probably be picked up and put down again, so when my heart wants a break from emotional books then maybe I'll come back to these.

A good read. The 'Off Series' is really quite nice. Good strong characters and nice stories. I guess there was a little 'sameness' about them, but an enjoyable read. Nothing that really took my breath away though.

I liked that all 5 books were different stories. There was some similarity in the plots, with a big separation scene before the HEA, but the circumstances were different, and the characters were all different. I enjoyed meeting the family and their spouses, it was great reading.
