When he was in the Wild Ring, riding on the backs of the monstrous bulls, Shane thought he could do anything – be anything so long as he had Samantha by his side. That was until a horrific accident took his ability to compete in the rodeo away from him. Hurt and feeling sorry for himself he betrayed Samantha in the worst of ways.
Heartbroken and betrayed, Samantha flees her home and everything she's known. Unfortunately, circumstances see her running into the arms of a dangerous and abusive man, trying to escape her pain.
When her father's passing forces her to return home with her six-year-old daughter, a secret she'd guarded closely, it sets the stage for an unexpected second chance for both her and Shane. If they can only get past mistakes made years ago. Just as they begin to rebuild their shattered lives and raise their daughter together, Samantha's vengeful ex-boyfriend resurfaces, determined to make her pay for leaving him.
Will love truly conquer all, or will the shadows of their pasts consume them both?
Angie is a small town gal that can usually be found with her head in a book. She lives with her husband and two kiddos and spends much of her spare time putting the stories in her head to paper, well a computer screen.
This book definitely has some heavy trigger warnings, so readers should keep that in mind, but it is incredibly well written and full of edge-of-your-seat moments, shocking twists, and so many “no way!” reactions. I flew through it in one sitting because I genuinely could not put it down.
There is no wasted time that is for sure. The story pulling you in and completely takes off from page one. Samantha’s situation is heartbreaking enough on its own, but finding out she also has a daughter in danger raises the stakes even more. The tension is intense, and the story keeps hitting you with one emotional blow after another. Just when you think things might finally settle down for them, even more chaos comes crashing in.
Shane and Samantha’s story is packed with emotion — sadness, betrayal, anger, compassion, hope, and love all wrapped together in a way that keeps you fully invested. Their pain feels real, the characters are believable, and the connection between them makes you want to root for their happiness the entire time.
And that ending... WTF :) Absolutely brutal in the best way. The cliffhanger left me desperate for more, and I’m so glad the next book is already out because I need to know what happens next. If you love emotional, suspenseful romance that keeps your heart racing snag this bad boy!
Holy smokes!! This book starts right off grabbing your interest in Samantha’s dilemma, which is bad enough, but then you find out she’s also got a daughter! And they are both in danger!! Samantha is being abused by this man - and he threatens her daughter’s life to keep her under control. After she makes a desperate attempt to flee and go back home, you would think that things would calm down for them - but no, there is a whole other host of issues slamming into them. Thank goodness the next book is already out because this one ended in a shocking cliffhanger! I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read the next one!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this book and can't wait for the next! Shane and Samantha deserve to be happy and take care of each other. The way all the ranch hands take care of Samantha and he daughter is heart melting! I am so happy Samantha and Shane found each other again. I need the next story now though! We were left hanging with this cliffhanger!!!
This is so, so good! I have no words for all the things that have happened to both Shane and Samantha. The characters in this story are so believable, but could be triggers for some. Well written with many edge of your seat moments, lots of no ways, what ifs, and more importantly, hurt for time lost. Can't wait for the next one!
Wow! This book all around was great! Samantha and Shane’s story hooked me. The flashbacks give you a look at their story then and now and all they’ve gone thru to get to where they are now. Of course there’s a cliffhanger-and a good one at that.. immediately got book 2 to see what happens.
