Captured and sentenced to spend the rest of his life mining asteroids, Caleb’s odds of stopping the Legion and finding his way home appear slim. After being transferred to the most dangerous and deadly assignment in the Belt, there’s a good chance his punishment may be completed sooner than he imagined.
But with the fate of the galaxy at stake, he isn’t about to let a little thing like incarceration keep him from his goals. Where one fight ends, another begins…
…and Caleb will never, ever back down until the mission is complete.

Let me start by saying the Forgotten series is probably my favorite series of all time. Sheriff Duke is a legendary hero. I even really enjoyed Caleb's introductory series. But this one I kind of struggled to get into. Overall it's good but this book in particular just quite hit that high. There were a ton of editing mistakes that were easily correctable. One character has his name changed from Mathis to Mathias, and then back again. There's a ton of action in the book. Caleb keeps getting drawn into one fight after another after another. Eventually it gets to be a bit much, like there needs to be a break. Each situation plays out exactly the same. Caleb goes in with a plan, gets surprised, comes up with a new plan, almost fails, and then just forces his way through to victory. There's also a massive amount of secondary characters that get brought up from previous novels that I had completely forgotten about since they hadn't been mentioned in so long, but this book brings them back like they were just mentioned a few pages before. Characters seemingly disappear for periods of time in a fight until they suddenly pop back up. In the final mission, there's no mention of Orin until the halfway point, but apparently he had been there the entire time. I really wanted to like this book, but it just didn't grab me like others. I'm really looking forward to what new adventures Caleb finds himself in. Hopefully Washington finally comes back, or he meets up with the sheriff again to take on Iagorth
Military, Mercenary🐺💪🔫🗡 Sci-fi🚀💫💥 Yay! finally a book That isn't part of an endless series📚! This fourth book is definitely the end of this series📚 and ends happily. The author may decide to use the same character in a new series, but this one has ended. A symbiot🐛 enables our hero, Caleb🐺💪🔫🗡, to perform super human feats at times, and it is also an all knowing intellect.
I got this ebook from Amazon📚 with Kindle Unlimited.
I recommend all of M R Forbes books📚 for lovers of military sci-fi space opera🚀💫💥
The Forgotten Galaxy series is a well crafted and entertaining collection. M.R. Forbes has created an enjoyable four book collection. Likable characters, plenty of action, humor and drama. I wish the main couple had developed their relationship a bit more, overall a fine read.
I have been an avid fan of this book series since the first installment featuring The Sheriff. The author's consistent storytelling and engaging narrative continue to captivate me. I look forward to reading more works from this talented writer and hope they maintain the same high-quality writing that has kept me thoroughly entertained throughout the series.
Different scifi premise, excellent cast of characters, great bad guys, non-stop action. And a great ending! Oops, gotta read the series to find out the great ending!
Was extremely disappointed with this Forgotten Galaxy series. It was long winded and laborious. I did however, love the running commentary of Sheriff Hayden Duke and the Thanks Giving MRE packets. The rest of the series of books were extremely well written.
Have read the entire forgotten series - can’t wait to see if they all can fit together. Axon forge is now by earth- Caleb’s returned with the moiety- and the spiral is an ally - hummm new series idea
Love this book series and the others he has written. They combine human experience with a solid interpretation of potential alien life. Very well put together.
Clear protagonist, very well done mystery and fulfillment. I enjoyed every minute of reading.
When a villain is in your mind, how do you beat it?
The Forgotten Galaxy is in the midst of a galactic battle of the minds for control. Caleb Card is one of the most determined warriors anyone has ever encountered!
Great series, I like the way it moved along. Good character development and the story is 4 books so not too long. Another character as interesting as Sheriff Duke.
Like all the other novels from this other better editing is needed. But still great characters and I love this world forbes created! Caleb might just be my favorite.
Very much a plot driven story with neverending action. Try not to look at character motivation or any complexity in the political or economic aspects in the novel. Ratings for this last book have survivorship bias in that anyone who did not like this style would have stopped at book 2.
I'd call this a good ending but not a great wrapup. It had a lot of action with periods of calm that tended to slow down the action, which would be fine except that it felt kind of disconnected. The ending felt like they were catching their breath rather than all done.
Still, great story and go Caleb! Way to conquer the bad guys! And Paul Heitsch was excellent on audio.
