🌶 5-star
Everything about this book is a 5-star

LISTEN TO MY WARNING ⚠️
READ ALL OF TWS... THERE IS A LOT AND THEY ARE ALL TRUE...
So don't be one of those people and act surprised like you didn't know they were there,

BECAUSE
You will miss out on one of the best well-written books I have come across in a long time.

TANY LYNN. This is your year.
"Your Soul is Ours."

I never thought it would end that way. Had me fooled. Took me by surprise. I don't cry often over a book, but this one had me in tears. 😭 My heart exploded in 5 different ways with what happened. A part of it is gone. Locked away with them. You have me speechless

I don't wanna give too much away, but
I came back after giving it some more thought.

The story of Sébastien and Marla ( his Dove).

The things that Sébastien had to endure as a child, no one ever should have to endure, but Marla. ...her pain 💔 and what she had to go through was a pain like no other... it was intense
She couldn't stop living in her mind. Like a box with no lid. You see light but no way out

What these two shared, though.. The love they had for each other.. The never-ending battle she felt.
He desperately tried to help her.

He would always be there for her despite his dem@ns.He would do anything and everything for her.
Always

Was it enough, though?

Maybe!!

I promise you will feel EVERYTHING in this book. I mean EVERYTHING. This story had me pulled in, gripped my heart so hard, and had me up until early in the morning writing this review. I couldn't put it down. It was worth it. This book is a masterpiece of intense raw emotions that make you feel like you are one with the characters. A part of their soul and journey.

My brother, too, struggles with mental issues. She wrote a book that was beautifully constructed. It hit all the parts that needed to be said with the right amount of taste and flare.
I love it.

I was just... blown away.

Don't let it pass you by.

Thanks for letting me be a part of their journey. One book I WILL NEVER forget and always cherish.

Some content may not be suitable for YOU!
Just to leave you with a little thought.

" Don't judge a book by its cover. You never know what's on the inside." A person could be smiling at the world but still be sad inside. Always be kind as much as you can"

Dark for sure. Trigger galore. Unique.
The story and concept was different from any other dystopian novel I’ve read. The only reason it’s 3.5/5 is because I felt that the writing was rushed and skimmed over scene setting and character building. It was too short for all the information crammed into it. If it had been given more space to grow and more time on each scene, I think it would’ve definitely been close to a 5 star.

Where do I even begin with telling you how much this book impacted me.

One, this is one of the most quality and well written dark romances I have come across in a while. And I read a lot!

Marla and Sebastian’s love story is passionate, unhinged, heartbreaking and tragic.

Marla, the main female character, is utterly broken from family abuse and trauma.

The main male character, Sebastian, is unhinged and loves the main female character even after death. He literally would do anything for her, even if that means following her in death. Whooooo! Talk about a devoted man who loves you with all he is right?!

He kept trying to be the main female characters savior, but deep down he knew he couldn’t save her or fight her demons for her. He could only be with her in loving support and help her to fight them on her own. The author tackles the issue of how you can’t unfortunately take pain away from someone struggling with mental health. The author helped shed light on how you can’t save someone from their mental health demons in their mind or blame yourself when you can’t save them from them. However, you can help them to heal.
That they have to decide to heal and to make the choice to overcome on their own. And Marla, the main female character, also realizes this in the end.

That message from the author literally made me cry.

Plus, the dystopian world built by Tanya Lynn, was so realistically scary. She really shed light on how broken the system is for people who can’t afford mental health care.

“Having mandated mental health services that never really help is soul-crushing.”

The author tackled the issue on how important kindness and expressing love is to someone is in our society. People with mental health issues have just as much to give society as those who don’t struggle.

Because it shows how important proper mental health care, self love and kindness is in a persons life after trauma when they are healing. People unaliving themselves is a common reality now a days, but it shouldn’t have to be! People shouldn’t feel like their only resort is to take their life, because in reality it doesn’t fix the problem…rather it causes more pain and chaos.

My heart breaks for those who have struggled. And it makes me want to fight harder for better health care.

As a mental health survivor myself, I appreciated that it tackled so many difficult, heavy and dark themes to address the issues that people with mental health face. The messages and feelings portrayed by the characters were so personal and really hit me in the heart.

The message and dedication of this book is amazing!

The way this love story was build up was a rollercoaster and broke my heart several times. The depth in the characters was very well written!
Lots of hard, difficult topics are talked about in this book and I advise you to really read the trigger list before diving in.
Mental health should be talked about more openly and the health care system should be better. The way this is described in the book hit me straight in the heart.
The ending was a little predictable, but I can see why it was done this way and why people may love it. This was a very good, very sad read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

READ ALL TWs THERE IS A LOT AND THEY ARE ALL TRUE. DON'T GO IN BLIND THIS BOOK IS BOUT MENTAL ILLNESS AND THE DEMONS WITH IN UR MIND.

THE DEDICATION IN THIS BOOK IS AMAZING. THANK U FOR CARING FOR US WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES AND HOW U KNOW WE ALL SUFFER DIFFERENTLY.

This book is so good and well written. The author shows how important mental health care, self-love, and kindness is in a person's life after trauma when they are healing. And how the health care system fails us that struggles with mental health issues.

Sebastian struggles with his own demons and trauma from the hands of his father. But he is head over heels for his Dove Marla. Marla has very bad struggles with her demons with the hands of her family members. But 2gether they make each other demons in there head fade away. The darkness isn't active when they are around each other. Sebastian loves Marla and will go anywhere she is on Earth or in hell. This ending had me in so many tears and proved that love can't cure everyone's battle with mental health.

I received this as an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I absolutely loved how beautifully written this book was despite all the darkness and tragedies.

BE SURE TO READ ALL THE TRIGGERS!!!

I loved how the story was written in dual perspectives of the main characters. We get to feel the emotions of both characters first hand and that was a wild ride!!

The MMC and FMC are both so real and raw in how they feel and think. I loved their chemistry together and how deeply they love each other.

The plot was very heavy but I loved every bit of it. I also loved that the story was written pretty fast paced and stuck to the plot without becoming stagnant. There's nothing worse than forcing myself through very slow or boring parts of a book. I did not experience that with this book. It held my attention the entire time, so I devoured this ARC!!

I will be buying the physical copy once it comes out!!

Well— wasn’t that just a pitch black, butch slap to the emotions?

Jesus… Marla and Sebastian have been through some traumatic sh*t. Some parts felt a little rushed over, but obey all this was a solid read and I’m eager to get into the next book when it releases!

Read with caution, read the triggers, DO NOT GO IN BLIND!

This book has so many twists and turns that I had a hard time putting it down. The words beautifully tragic comes to mind when reflecting on this book. Tanya's writing immersed me into the world of Marla and Sebastian. It was scary how much I identified with the FMC. I grew up similarly with family telling me I would never be anything and other not very nice things. My heart broke reading everything her mother did and said to her. I know every story has a villain but the hate I had for Marla's Mother was intense. I fell completely in love with Marla and Sebastian. The intense love that Sebastian has for Marla was beautiful. Yes, he was a stalker, and yes, he broke into her apartment to care for her after her self harming episodes but he never did anything actually bad to her. The very thought that being with him made Marla fight her demons that much harder was a testament to their connection. Also, let's not forget about the spice that was given to us at the most perfect moments in the story. The ending threw me but I also was thinking something of the sort would happen but I won't spoil it for you.

I will say, Tanya I agree, if we get sent to Cavum Terra it would be insanely horrific!

FMC: Deals with mental health issues. Anxiety, depression, self-harm.
MMC: Stalker who is obsessed with the FMC. Touch her and die vibes. Loves very intensely.
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Triggers: So many, please DO NOT GO IN BLIND! Read the triggers list as well as the author's note.

I want to start by saying check your trigger warnings your mental health matters. We love you and we need you here on earth! With that being stated, I want to say that this is the first book I have read by this author I think she did a phenomenal job writing, this book for me personally, this book was extremely relatable. She did a wonderful job with the characters Marla and Sebastian. I absolutely adore them. I think this book is a great way to understand somebody else’s point of view if they are struggling with mental health issues however, you have to be in the right mindset to be able to handle this book in my opinion, but I definitely loved the book and the spice was pretty good too!

“She must learn that no one can hurt her, and I’ll do everything possible to stop her from hurting herself.”

This book really hit me in a spot I wasn’t expecting 😩.

Unlike other dark romances I’ve read, this was very eloquently written in a matter that really surprised me. It didn’t feel rushed and you could tell the author was taking everything into consideration while writing this. It’s almost calming in a way, even with everything that this book contains.

Marla is someone who has suffered tremendously throughout her life and would often find refuge in things that were no good for her. Sebastian would see this and ultimately hurt for her because he wanted her to be happy.

Sebastian was such a lovely character. He is the dream guy if you ask me. Also with his own issues to deal with but the way he sought out to protect Marla and even do things for her when she neglected her house or health really tug at my heart.

The beginning of this book had me a little confused because I was trying to piece everything from the beginning, but please don’t do this. This book actually is a very pleasant read that needs to be enjoyed at a nice pace because it is quite heavy.

The ending could be considered predictable to some but it kind of took me off guard and I was a crying mess at the end.

Please read all TWs before reading. This book is very heavy on the topics mentioned and I can see it may be difficult for some to read.

This was a beautiful story that took all the dark things many of suffer with and meshed it together to create a heart tugging romance with Marla and Sebastian.

-eARC for honest thoughts and opinions.

Sebastian and (his Dove) Marla are star crossed lovers who have endured torment, confront their darkness on a daily basis, and experience peace from their demons when together.
The trauma in this is explicitly raw and will dig its way into your soul with the vulnerability, heartbreak and devastation.
In a dystopian world praying on the vulnerable it highlights the broken system and tragically reflects real world MH struggles some endure.
This story had layers of depth and darkness, unexpected twists and passion, and a dark romance that poignantly embraced obsession empathy and devotion.

Ensure you read the full list of triggers first as a LOT of dark themes are explored.

4.5 ⭐️

This book tore me apart!! This is definitely a darker book with some dark subject matter so please check trigger warnings before reading!! With that being said I loved this book!! I loved the mental health representation & how strong the MC’s were!! Seeing them persevere together & support/help each other through their traumas/mental illnesses was beautiful to read!! Seb was unhinged in the best way & the spice was well written. I felt so bad for Marla through this book, seeing her struggle was heartbreaking to read & the ending was devastating. But I loved every minute of it & cant wait to read the second book!! I will definitely be reading more books by this author!! 🥰

My Favourite Quote:

This book!!! It was a very heavy story to read but completely worth it. It truly shows the struggles a person can face from a lifetime of pain caused by others. And, the desperation for revenge one may seek. It was a very dark and twisted read. While I do recommend it, please read and consider all the trigger warnings. Mental health matters!! You matter!! I'm grateful I was given the chance to read this book, it has definitely left a lasting impression on me.

First and foremost check your triggers. This book is chock full of them. Do not go into it blind. I received this book as an ARC and devoured it. But I had to take time after to fully take in how this story made me feel. It deals heavily with mental illness and to me that almost was the biggest villain in a way in the book. Which is something wholly unique and I think needs to be told in books.
Sebastian is someone who is literally willing to do anything for Marla and he helped her so much throughout. I loved how he just accepted her in all her darkness. He definitely falls far into the not even morally grey but straight up oh he’s psycho. but I still loved him.
I do wish the ending would have been expanded a bit more it felt a bit rushed in the last bit, we didn’t get much of that fantasy element. But I could see it being left open to possibly more coming.
Over all this was a definite dark read. You feel for everything Marla has had to endure and is still enduring. It will pull on your heartstrings. I loved the story, it’s two damaged souls that have managed to find each other and love each other through the pain.

I have a really hard time rating this book, the author wrote an incredibly deep story, it had a lot of weight to it and yes the trigger warnings are real, and very intense (even for someone who doesn't get triggered easily)

Tanya is an amazing writer and I will be reading more of her books if she will let me. It played an interesting and creative twist on a very real problem in society.

I got chosen by an amazing author for an ARC read of her new book coming out at the end of the month.
I read the first book, and I'm obsessed and can't wait to start the second. If you like dark romance this book is for you. She does an amazing job touching on mental health struggles, and trauma from toxic family. The MMC is the man all women want. He is a do anything for his woman, burn the world down for her type. Highly recommend giving this newer author a shot, and jumping in to this dark romance.

First and foremost, please check triggers and content warning and be very mindful of them before choosing to move forward with reading ‼️ That being said I cannot recommend this book enough if you feel safe to read it. I absolutely could not get enough of this beautifully heartbreaking story. “No need to thank me. You can stay here as long as you want. Loving someone means you love the good parts and also the shitty parts. Every broken piece of a person is loveable if you are with the right person.”

This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions because it deals with some very heavy topics. To say it shattered my heart is an understatement. Mental health is no joke, and it claims too many lives. Please be mindful of the triggers and always safeguard your personal health before reading a book of this nature. I will list the triggers after the review.

"Your Soul is Ours" is told from a duel perspective. Both characters will grip you by the heartstrings even though they are beyond morally gray. It's the story of two people connected via trauma and pain and just how far they are willing to go to heal each other. Unfortunately, not everyone can be saved.

Some of the circumstances of the story are a bit far-fetched, but it's fiction. In real life, a relationship like this one would be extremely problematic and toxic, but it makes for a good storyline, and I definitely appreciated the spice, too. Do I think this is a healthy representation of mental health and coping with trauma? Not at all. I cant even begin to imagine living in a world like this where based on your mental health, the goverment could determine your worth and if you deserved to live.So with that being said, if you struggle with your own mental health, please know that you don't have to be alone and resources are available for you

One last thing that I particularly was intrigued by in this book was the afterlife. I would love to see Lynn expand upon that theme. The idea that those who end their own lives go somewhere else for eternity was so unique. If she writes it, I will 💯 snatch it up!!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Set against the backdrop of a society grappling with pervasive issues, the novel introduces Marla and Sebastian, two souls navigating the treacherous waters of trauma, abuse, and the complexities of mental health.

Marla, a survivor of profound trauma and abuse, is mandated to a mental health center in a world plagued by a mental health crisis. Lynn takes readers on a journey through Marla's harrowing past, revealing the scars left by an extremely narcissistic and abusive mother. As Marla struggles to confront her demons, her path converges with Sebastian, a character whose unhinged obsession with Marla becomes the focal point of the narrative.

Sebastian, consumed by a deep and unsettling love for Marla, is portrayed as her savior, attempting to rescue her from the shadows that haunt her. Their connection unfolds against the backdrop of a society grappling with the devastating effects of mental health issues, shedding light on the difficulties individuals face in seeking help, particularly if they lack financial means.

The novel boldly addresses the ongoing mental health crisis, illustrating the challenges individuals like Marla encounter in their pursuit of healing. "Your Soul Is Ours" is a thought-provoking and emotionally intense journey that delves into the shadows of mental health. While it may be a challenging read, the novel's eye-opening exploration of societal issues, combined with the intricate dance of dark romance, makes it a compelling and impactful work. Tanya Lynn's ability to tackle difficult subjects with empathy and depth ensures that readers are left with a lasting impression and a heightened awareness of the struggles faced by those battling their inner demons in a world that often lacks the necessary support structures.

This story had me feeling deep inside my soul connecting with the MC Please make sure to read the trigger warnings. This book is dark. Mental Illness is real and the demons in our head can be powerful. This book is intense with emotions. This book was worth every tear I . The message this story gives needs to be heard!!!

Our FMC is fighting everyday with her illness and the feeling of never being loved by those who should have been there for her as she grew. Her battle is heavy as she tries to find ways to deal with it. The struggle of finally having someone who sees her but her demons telling her how she is not worthy of love.

Our MMC is a unaliver stalker that has a love so deep. The way he speaks to the FMC had my heart swooning over him. There are so many of his words I highlighted. People need to hear and feel the words he preaches to his dove.

There are some many quotes that I love and it's hard to make a selections , but here are a few...

"Never be sorry. You know I want you for more than that. I love you, Marla, through the good and the bad, through the light and the darkness. Always, from this life to the next."

"The demons grip you. But patience is my style, it's kinda my thing, they don't understand that I'll hold on to you tighter, that I'll do whatever it takes to rip you from their claws."

"Trauma becomes a comfort blanket that wraps us in the darkest hug. The experiences that formed us, that changed our brain chemistry, are all our own. No one can ever feel the pain we feel, because every fractured piece is only our own."

My Rating System:
1 star: Probably DNF - Lacks structure - Grammatical Errors - Boring characters
2 stars: Not a fan - Struggled to finish - Won't reread - Lacked personality - Lacked storyline
3 stars: Neutral - Underwhelmed - Nothing special - Like the book but we're still troubled by a few components
4 stars: Enjoyed - Concept unique - Dialogue felt real - Invested in characters - Missing cherry on top
5 stars: Creme de la creme - It's addictive - Emotional Impact - Highly Recommend - Feels like you are part of the book

**READ THE TW/CW**

🌟 The profound and passionate world of Your Soul is Ours by Tanya Lynn, where love transcends the boundaries of life and death. Sebastian's unwavering devotion to Marla is the driving force in this gripping tale, where the shadows of her past and the echoes of self-doubt threaten to unravel everything.

As Marla battles the darkness within, Sebastian emerges as her steadfast protector, willing to defy even the boundaries of death for their love. Tanya Lynn skillfully navigates the complexities of trauma and mental health, shedding light on the painful journey of healing and the harsh reality that love alone cannot banish inner demons.

This love story is not just passionate; it's unhinged, heartbreaking, and tragic. Marla's character, broken by family abuse and trauma, stands as a poignant portrayal of resilience. Sebastian's devotion, even beyond the veil of death, paints a vivid picture of love's enduring power.

The author skillfully addresses the challenges of mental health, emphasizing that while love provides support, the battle against inner demons is a personal journey. Lynn delicately dismantles the misconception that one can single-handedly save another from their mental struggles, highlighting the importance of self-discovery and personal choice in the healing process.

Your Soul is Ours is a profound exploration of the human spirit, resilience, and the complexities of mental health. Tanya Lynn's narrative is a rollercoaster of emotions, leaving readers with a powerful message that love, though potent, is not a cure-all. 📖💔 #YourSoulIsOurs #LoveBeyondDeath #MentalHealthJourney #BookReviewTeaser #TanyaLynn #EmotionalRead #Resilience #HealingJourney #UnhingedLove #BookishEmotions

Your Soul is Ours is dark, dark, dark! Read the trigger warnings, your mental health matters.
Beautifully written, it grabbed me from the first chapter and I devoured it. Very well paced and it was a dark pleasure to read.
Let us meet Sebastian and Marla…….
Marla meets Sebastian at the mental healthcare center, the very dystopian mental healthcare center. Sebastian saw Marla 8 months prior to this meeting and he hasn’t stopped looking at her since.
The mental healthcare center is a heart breaking nightmare of a place. I am still not over how much I hated it. There is literally no help actually happening.
Sebastian and Marla both have trauma and connect in interesting ways.
Sebastian teaches Marla all about his unique garden and his special fertilizer. Their love will continue on forever.
Spoilery type notes that I took during reading, enjoy!

Seb is a stalker.
Oh shit, he is a serial killer.
Marla has a creepy ass landlord.
Seb took him, hahahahahahaha!!!!
Marla’s mother is a C.U.Next.Tuesday
Seb drains the blood to fertilize his garden!!!!!
I lost the body count at about 42% through the book.
Family killing spree, hell yeas!
The center is a freaking joke.
Jess, WTF!!!!!!! No, no, no……..
No Marla! Stop!
Seb you gotta let her go.
He finally buries her in the garden.
The Pink Dahlias!!!!!!!!!
Oh shit, hell yes!
Seb done went and shot up the folks at the center!!!
RIP Seb……
Marla wakes up in Cavum Terra, her demons are always there.
Seb and Marla back together, running from their personal demons together.
Sucks about them damn demons…….you just can’t escape them.

Okay, so to begin with.... CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS IN THIS STORY. I cannot stress that enough. Don't skip them, then be surprised or shocked by the contents of the story.

Next, this story was definitely heavy. I loved the depth of the characters and how they so fit for each other and helping each other with their demons. Marla is a young woman struggling with mental health issues that stem from an narcissistic, mentally abusive, abusive, manipulative mother, and lifestyle. She's mandated to go to therapy, but never gets the help she needs since most people that are mandated have to pick and number and pray they get seen as well as aren't deemed too mentally unhealthy to be worthy of living. There she meets Sebastian, who is solely there for her. He tries to help her through her issues while also battling the ones he has.

Without trying to give out too many details, I'll say that they embark on a path of healing that isn't as therapeutic as normal.

There's a happy-ish ending in this story, but not one that you expect, so be aware of that. Overall this story is good, the writing is good. You will be captivated by what's going on, and sometimes even wish you could be a part of the book to intervene. There are so many parts where I wanted to shake Marla, but I know exactly where she's been.

And lastly, I repeat..... Read the trigger warnings!!! I gave this 5 stars because even though it's dark, I liked the it was different.
