They are creatures of extraordinary beauty and incredible power. Messengers of God or protectors of the human race, these mysterious creatures of light can also take human form—and can experience the emotions, lusts, and desires of a man. Some of the top writers of gay male erotica tackle the daunting subject of angels and the mixture of spirituality and sexuality, passion and desire that occurs when an angel feels desire for a beautiful human male. These stories mix heat with tenderness, amazing sex with spirituality, and earthy sensuality with an other-worldly heat.
You'll never look at angels quite the same way again.
In the interest of full disclosure: I have a short story in this collection, one of my Triad character stories (Anders is the POV).
You can look back through my status updates for this one to see my story-by-story reactions. The whole collection reminded me - yet again - how authors can take a theme and give something incredibly diverse and entertaining. I think this is what makes short fiction my favorite - the sheer range of tales you can get in one book. Definitely diverse, and I have to say Jeff Mann's "Mead Sweet" and Felice Picano's "Gift" blew me away.
Only read Intercession by 'Nathan Burgoine and honestly I think this was one of his weaker pieces from Triad Blood universe. Maybe I just didn't get it? Either way this felt kind of random OR it needed more explanation/worldbuilding around the whole angel thing. I did enjoy getting another peak at our trio though and I can't wait to get my hands on Triad Magic!
I might read some of the other short-stories at later date, but not right now.
I really didn’t get this one much what with that nosy angel intervening with Anders’ lifestyle. LOL. I was like, exactly what does he aim to accomplish? It was nice seeing having Anders POV though. He’s really quite a character, I’d love to read more from these three.
Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed in many of these stories, while most of them were extremely hot, some of the stories were really hard to get and understand. The characters in many of the stories just didn't gel well together for me.
