Umbra Hunters #3

A Surrender Of Hope

Rate this book
Four Demon Princes. Three Betrayals. Two Realms.

One moment… One decision… One life saved.

Not many people get a second chance at life, and if I hope to survive, I’ll need to learn how to navigate the world in which I’ve found myself. Lennox, Creed, Valen, and Razar not only turned my life upside down, they completely altered my reality and plan for a future I didn’t know could exist. For better or worse, the five of us have been bound together in a world of darkness, and I must cling to the men I trust and fear most to endure.

The world I once knew is gone as the enemy closes in on all sides, turning reality into nightmares. Betrayals cut deep, hearts start to mend, and the Devil draws near as I struggle to find footing in this world with new threats emerging from the shadows.

But evil has a way of striking when you least expect it.

A Surrender Of Hope is book three of four in the Umbra Hunters Series and DOES end on a cliffhanger. This is a Paranormal Why-Choose romance which means there will be no choosing between love interests at the end of the story.

This series has darker elements that readers should be aware of such as, strong language, adult content, and violence.

2.5 again...spoilers.

Alright I want to start right off the bath with holy shit those spicy scenes really were on par. Brava. I think this may be one of the spicier books I've read from this author. Now let's get into the rest of it.

Dislikes:
I am starting with the things I wasn't a fan of because unfortunately there were just more of them in this book.
1) Meyer died and came back to life, and still managed to be almost insufferable at times. She fights them for no reason, puts herself in danger when she doesn't have the skill set to protect herself and more so in this book didn't have much character development to speak of. She sort of gets nicer with Nox? But aside from that she is still flipping everyone off and kicking them in the balls? And she is supposed to be in her 20s, not her teens. Okay.
2) While on the topic we have demon princes that are hundreds of years old, besides nox who is still 36 and we constantly have immature misunderstanding and grappling with each other like kids. Which can be enduring but coupled with Meyers inability to act her age ever or step up to meet a moment I think it rubbed me the wrong way and I was annoyed.
3) What in the ever loving information dump. Honestly. We have two books where one of my main issues is that we don't get much world building, we are super aware of the plot, and we don't know much about the demons and their background. Now we have book three where it seems the information is dumped on us in large quantities and we are just to supposed to catch on without prior knowledge, or real understanding of the background. We gloss over wars, factions of kings and lords that play such a huge role in this new big bad of the devil coming back? It just seemed like after that second book the plot was decided finally and then BAM here is all this information. I just wasn't a fan.
4) Did anyone not guess who the traitor was? I'm not sure that could've been more obvious if you just said it any time he was brought up. If all the characters involved are like "woah why are you so nice all of a sudden?" Or "He's related but he isn't trustworthy obviously since we didn't trust him to be in our legion" then obviously this man is the bad guy.......

Likes:
I feel bad about ranting a little above because I do have things I enjoyed about this book and want to make sure we jump into them.

1) Raz- I am not sure I have to really go in depth on this one. If you read it and don't like his character I feel bad for you because he was my bright spot with this one. Watching him struggle with his inner emotions and the cold hard psycho nature. 🤤

2) The concept-
Honestly this overall concept for a book has kept me reading despite my dislike of some of the other aspects. Demons, warring factions, political intrigue, betrayal all fantastic and something this author has previously done well so I'm hoping since we got this info dump book done the next one will be better.

3) I like that we don't have her have full 4 mates yet. I know we all are like let's hurry this along please and how did Creed get in there before Valen, but alas. I like having something to look forward too. I got over her and Nox arguing like children pretty quickly so I'm glad this book focused more on raz and the other guys after Nox mated her. It's also nice to have Nox mate her first because God forbid I read another book where the leader is the last to mate for XYZ reasons.

Honestly,
I like a lot of things about this author and if my hatred of Meyer was slightly less I think I would rate this higher, her personality and choices are not my favorite for this genre.

Top series of 2024

This series absolutely captured me and turned me into a stalker of this very talented author. By the time I found this series, books one and two were out and I devoured them. The push and pull between Meyer (lover her name!) and the guys is riveting. Two of them are major alphaholes and the other two are so sweet but all four guys are protective and obsessive in their own ways. I appreciate that Meyer is such a fun and spunky fmc. She's not a pushover and she's not a princess. She is hilarious, loving, curious, and not going to be pushed around. There remains so much mystery through this third installment, but we do get to see massive relationship progress with her men. Book three was one of my most anticipated reads of 2024 and I can't wait to see Meyer really come into her power in book four.

Alright, Nox - the broody, obnoxious Demon Prince, when he falls, he falls hard. After all that push and pull, he did give into the mate bond.
Things do slow w down here a bit, but also it was nice to see the MMCs with their parents. It is evident that Orcus and Viv are loving parents and do care about their sons' wellbeing. It was also interesting to follow Raz as he struggles with his feelings for Meyer, I am not sure that he would succumb to what his Beast wants, but keeping my fingers crossed that he does get his chance.
I did feel slightly frustrated with Meyer here, but apart from that things do pick up a notch towards the end of the book.
A traitor among the Royal court, unknown alliances and of course a cliffhanger.

"Why do I crave the attention of the man who reminds me of the monsters I’ve hidden from my whole life? Yeah, that's a question I need to ask a therapist, but I’ll roll with it for now."

Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶/5

I actually need to start paying a therapist for all these brutal cliffhangers I put myself through. What the hell was that ending?!

I really love this series and the plot twists it's taking!

Book 3 jumps straight back into the action after the battle scene and death at the end of book two and I just love it when a book dives right back in. The storyline of A Surrender of Hope just keeps escalating and it didn't stop til the final page.

I loved reading about the guys home land and the relationship they have with their parents. I loved the bonds that Meyer is forming and falling into deeper with them.

It was great to read about Meyer growing more into herself. For someone who thought she was fully human her whole life she's really smashing goals.

I really loved Razar in this one! I think he's becoming my favourite guy of the slowly growing harem and I can't wait to see him fight his feelings some more in the next one.

After that cliffhanger I would like book 4 delivered tomorrow because I don't know how long I can cope without wanting to throw something 😂🫠

I loved that for most of this book, it took place in the demon realm. Like it was just so cool to read about their world, to see how their appearances changed a little bit, their creatures, and meeting the guys’ parents. Like I absolutely loved getting their fathers pov and seeing his relationship with his wife and their relationship with their children. But y’all, that plot twist? I knew it 😩. Like multiple times throughout the book I was like I think it’s this person, but I don’t want it to be and it was 😩. Plus, they killed someone at the end 😭😭. Like why?? Like I kept rereading it to make sure I read it right and it said their “lifeless body” 😭😭. Nooooo!!!! And then I don’t want to see a certain person's reaction towards their death 😢. But sad note aside, I loved seeing everyone’s relationship with Meyer progress, especially razar 👏. Also, it was so intriguing to see Meyer's dream. Like seeing valen’s parents, little valen and his sister, the wars in the demon realm, that devil guy, and then either her great grandmother, grandmother, or mother. I’m so glad the next book will only take three months to release. I'm so sad but excited and curious to see how this series will end and getting more info!

Favorite quotes/scenes:

Wait… what? Did Razar just give me my cat back?
“You have twenty-four hours with my tiny monster before I attempt to re-collect him, Pup.”

“I’ve found a place with Valen, I feel it as if it was the most natural thing in the world. And even Creed, with our ups and downs, has been one of the most amazing things that has ever happened to me. Being with him is as easy as breathing.”

“What the hell? It's been like two minutes. By the Gods! Lennox, stop making her mad.” 🤣

“I’m not going over your shoulder!”
“I would never. That's more Lennox’s style. I prefer to treat my girl like the queen she is. Not a sack of potatoes.” (Valen)

“Once I got a taste of her, I knew my future was set despite how much I fought it, and now that I’m here, I can't help but think how fucking lucky I am that she’s bound to me.” (Lennox)

“Meyer is mine. My mate, mine to love, to protect, and mine to piss off every fucking day.” (Lennox)

“Razar! Don't you fucking dare! Put me down, or I’ll stab you again!”
“Again?”
“Don't worry, Mom. Violence is Raz and Meyer’s twisted love language. When they start being nice to each other, you need to start worrying.”

“Don't touch my stuff.”
“You touch my stuff all the time.”
“Like what?”
“Uh, well, for starters, my cat!”

“She grins at me, the look so perfect on her face that it makes my chest hurt as my heart stalls. I instantly hate the feeling, hate how I want to make her look at me like that again, and despise how I want nothing more than to make sure she only ever smiles.” (Razar)

“I could live in that hellish blackness another four years, hell a hundred of them, just as long as I knew Meyer was going to be there for me at the end of them.” (Valen)

“I’m sorry, Valen.”
“Whatever for, Mi Sol? This was not caused by anything you did. If anything, you make the pain worth living through. But I’ll always take more hugs if you are offering them.”

“I watch her and thank all the Gods that this enchanting creature is mine. I know this girl was born for me as much as I was created for her. She is everything I want and didn’t know I needed.” (Valen)

“Are you alright?”
“I’m always okay with you in my arms.” (Valen)

“Dad likes to sneak mom down, and they also like to… swim.”
“Oh shit!”
“It’s not funny, Lemon Drop. Dad doesn't have a shred of modesty. Mom at least stayed in the water when they saw us come in here. Dad chased us off naked.”

“I’ve got you, Lemon Drop. I’ll never let you go.”
“I can’t decide if that's romantic… or creepy.”
“Oh, creepy, for sure. I’m going to stalk your cute ass for the rest of our days.”

“If Meyer asked me for the damn moon I would pluck it from the sky for her. The things I need to do to earn her forgiveness and trust are astronomical, but it's something I will work toward for the rest of my life.” (Lennox)

“Meyer owns everything I am. I am a slave for this girl now and forever.” (Lennox)

“I can’t imagine my life without this stunning girl in it. I live and breathe by her every wish and demand. My first thought when waking is always her, and the last spent wishing I was with her. My need for her is almost terrifying, and I know there is no escape for her now. Even if she tried to leave, I wouldn't be strong enough to let her go. Meyer is mine, and I’ll fight for her and earn her love every second of my life to prove to her I’m a worthy mate.” (Creed)

“Not missing the way my Pup watches my every move or how having her full attention wakes something inside me that I don’t think she’s ready for. Not that it matters; the Pup is mine, and there is nothing she can say or do to stop that now.” (Razar)

Good

I loved reading the different point of views. It allowed me to understand why some react the way they do, the internal battles the guys go through. I was surprised at the end. I didn’t expect it to be the brother we weren’t looking at, but the one that stayed close to Orcus. The King of Verispellus. Dad to Lennox, Raz, Valen and Creed. Who have all fallen for the female lead character Meyer. I loved seeing Raz fall for her. I knew he would, he just had a harder shell than the others. He sees the worst in everyone, it’s his job to protect the future King, Lennox, or Nox. Meyer wasn’t afraid of him, and protected him when he needed it.
Meyer, I don’t really like her. She is still a friggen brat. She’s in a different world now. Demons feel things different than humans do, and she’s constantly oblivious, and treats every scenario like it’s her job to stand up like she’s standing up for all women in the world. Argues Constantly, battling them for everything. She doesn’t like being told what to do, and does everything in her power to make them listen to her, she doesn’t clue in that these guys are about to lose control due to a threat against her. She kicks them constantly and mostly in the balls. Thankfully the guys sorta like the defiance but it gets grating after a 3rd book of her not getting it. There’s a give and take to situations, and she doesn’t care how dire the situation is, she digs her heels in and does the exact opposite of what they guys tell her. They aren’t doing it to be pricks. All of it back and forth with her, in almost every conversation with her, it just makes me not like her as much. She has grown from the first book, but this specific characteristic has not, and it’s not cute and innocent anymore. She now knows she carries a binding mark of Innanis, who is the real devil. Orcus brought him down in a battle long ago, but was to weak after battle to really kill him and Jesthern somehow has fallen under his spell. He’s been leading Archer to fight against the main characters, his own twin brother Raz, and everyone else who loved him. Jestheren has also been leading Meyer in her dream walking, to Innanis. Who marked her. She can bring him back, and they are doing their best to get her. No one knows that Jesthern is a back stabbing jerk, and also steals magic from others. I’m hoping Meyer was stupid enough to follow the wraiths who took Elaine, Theos mom and The Siberian Senior. I’m praying she doesn’t get caught. Also in her dream, when she was killed in the end of the last book, she saw her grandparents running from a war, grandma heavily pregnant, has the baby and gives it up. That baby is adopted, has another daughter, and then is committed to a psychiatric ward where she’s killed by a demon. In this dream, she sees her mom as a kid ordering the beastia away and they listened. They also listened to Meyer later on in the dream but she didn’t remember this at all, so no one knows she can control the bestia. This will be really helpful in the next book, if she would only talk about her dream and realize that she can do this in real life. I rated it 4 stars because I don’t really like Meyer, she’s to whinny, and is oblivious to tense situations that would calm down if she would as well as listen. I’m hoping that now she’s starting to mate bond with the men, Lennox, who finished the bond she started in the first book, when he saved her from dying, then Creed near the end of the one. I know it’s taken Raz time to come to terms with his new affection for the pup that won’t leave his thoughts, will be next, and Valen last because he’s the Dreamwalker King without a kingdom. His will be a point that ties the legion together because of how strong he is. Can’t wait.

I enjoyed this book, but I will be honest by the end it lost my interest. As always, this is my personal opinion and your mileage will almost certainly vary. No one reads the book a same way, and I am also a mood reader.

Here is what I felt.
- I discussed in previous reviews there was some plot holes, or things I felt were not believable. They were still here in this book and for me it started to transcend the line of "I can ignore this". They started to bug me and make the experience less enjoyable.
- The romance development was a bit slow for me. It's book 3, only 1 book left, and there is only two mated pairs. The first mated pair was a live or die situation. The second pairing to be felt really rushed to. She doesn't trust him, and then suddenly that switches and to me that switch wasn't explored enough. Then before you know it you jump from them being friendly again, to post battle jumping into a mating. It felt very rushed to me. I felt like it was lacking build up. We waited 3 books and to me it didn't have that "special" feeling to it.
- The romance between the couples are developing some, but not equally. I would have liked to see more.
- The ending. Again. For what it was I would have liked build up, more emotions. Instead its like it relied on the event itself packing a punch. I felt like Elaine is such a huge character and she was killed off quite easily, without much of a fight and in a short scene. I feel like she deserved better as a character and the build up should have been bigger. I'm a bit sad at how it was handled.
- Some of elements started feeling too repetitive to me and didn't hold my interest as much.

What I liked:
- The banter was amazing. No complaints, I really enjoyed it and think the author does it super well.
- Good world.
- Good characters.

Overall, I loved this series. I was planning on purchasing the full series to have in my collection, however at this point it just started losing its charm for me and I didn't really want to pick it back up. Maybe one day I will return to it and feel different, but as it stands, I will not continue with this series.

The third in the Umbra Hunters series goes off with a bang (so read through the last few chapters of book 2 first to remind yourself of what happened). I can’t believe it’s been months since I last read the second book, I felt that the wait for book three was going to be interminable, but it’s here already.

To be honest I was a little concerned on what was going to go down in the book based off the title. I had a feeling that it wouldn’t be all rainbows and kittens. And yes, it does end on another cliffhanger and this one is even more cliffy than the one at the end of book 2.

It was nice to see the relationships develop between Meyer and her boys, Creed and Valen are already completely Team Meyer but it was nice to see Nox and Razar’s relationships with her develop and change over the course of the book (even though Meyer still seems to want to spend most of her time visiting damage on certain delicate parts of their anatomy). Razar’s continued possession of ‘the tiny monster’ (aka Milo, Meyer’s cat) continued to bring some light relief and it was nice to have more POV chapters from his point of view too, he’s not doing all this stuff just to annoy Meyer (although that is a consideration) there’s solid reasoning behind it too.

The worldbuilding expanded in this book with a visit to the boys’ home realm complete with awkward meet the family moments as well as more exploration of the dynamics and history between Meyer’s boys and their other siblings.

I can’t really say anything else without spoiling plot and it’s a lot more impactful to come into it blind. That’s all I’m going to say.

Can my nerves take the wait until the final book comes out next year? I’m not sure if it can! I’ll be sad when it’s all over though, I think I’ve enjoyed this series as much as Clemton’s BVU (which is still my second favourite RH series) and I’ve come to adore all the characters over the course of the books

Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5

Wow this book is just absolutely amazing. Once I started reading I could not put it down. After that killer cliffhanger from book two book three picks up right where we left off with Meyer having saved Razars life from the unexpected appearance from someone close to the guys. Like I wasn’t prepared for the emotions this book threw at me in the first few chapters but it was just absolutely perfection. Trying to not give away any real spoilers but as we get further into the book I was excited to see a softer side of Nox. Like don’t get me wrong I love growler grumpy possessive Nox but I am here for the cuddly side of him for sure. We also get to see more of the guys home world and get to meet their parents. I was a little worried about that but it wasn’t actually as bad as I was fearing and then we get to that cliffhanger again. I wanted to say I was shocked but I was thinking something was up with this person and my fears have shown true. I wanted to like them but sadly they are the enemy. Like my heart was so sad to get this but man I am absolutely going to love it in the next book when the truth comes out. Oh and I so though I had a favorite guy of the group but it is constantly changing. I think it’s safe to say that I am not going to be able to pick a fave from this group. I was pretty solid team Creed but honestly throughout the series I have slowly started loving all of them and even Raz has his adorable side. I cannot wait for the next book to see how this will unfold. Absolutely would recommend this series to anyone to give it a try. You won’t regret

The series pacing slows down a little as we learn more about the demon world and are given some time to recover from the angst in the first few chapters. We are heading towards a big showdown and although the focus is more on the central relationships, there is enough mystery surrounding the villains end game to keep things moving along. The final chapter was great; the clues are there but I was still second guessing myself until the end.

I knew book three would be the one where Nox won me over though! We all knew he was soft for Meyer underneath that gruff Regalis exterior and the possessive vibes are strong after the events of the last book. Valen is still my number one and that line about him waiting for Meyer was so sweet; I love the idea of Meyer asking him and Valen totally deserves to be wooed (I too was imagining the babies)! Razar is definitely the standout in this one though; I really liked seeing more of his POV and the evolution of his relationship with Meyer (and Milo) is a lot of fun. I think he is really going to come into his own in the next book though as he deals with the fallout of that last chapter.

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

Just when you think Meyer and her men cannot possibly deal with any more, Clemton releases the next book in the series 😅.

No, seriously, this is a fantastic continuation of Meyer's story, which answers a lot of questions, whilst delivering us so many more that we want answered. This book definitely sits more on the world-building and almost information-dumping side of storytelling, but it's interspersed with fantastic scenes of character building and growth, as well as twists and turns I'm starting to learn Clemton is queen at delivering.

Raz is still hands down my favourite of the men in this group - especially when you throw in the Milo interactions - though I will say, Nox has definitely begun to redeem himself. I love that his walls are slowly breaking - even if he's still being a bit of an ass at times with withholding the truth - but that claiming scene? Holy fuck, was I here for it.

The build up to yet another cliffhanger was amazing, and Clemton has really set the stage for what I can only imagine will be an epic conclusion in book 4 - fingers crossed it won't be too long of a wait until Meyer's story is complete (I will totally be binging the whole series back to back in lead up to book 4's release, ngl).

Thank you to the author for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.

Absolutely the Best Series!!

Omg this series keeps getting better and better!!! I am so in love with Meyer and the guys. At first, it was Creed, then Nox stole my heart. Now it's Razar. When you go through that many changes and emotions, you know it's a good series, and you know the writer is giving you in-depth writing to pull at your heart strings. I am completely sucked into this world, and I am ready for more. We do pick up right where book 2 left off with that horrible cliffhanger. Throwing us right back into the thick of the battle and the devastating betrayal of a lie of how someone who was thought to be dead but isn't. For me I see the most growth in Nox and Razer out of the guys and, of course, Meyer. The journey that this secret from the end of book 2 takes them through this book leads them to some confortation of the past and to their parents. This leads to some deeper insights to them, and it's amazing! I never could guess what was going on in this book. Every time I thought I was even close to figuring something out, something else was thrown in, and a new twist was thrown in to completely blind side you. The ending!!! Omg I was not ready for that, and the next book needs to hurry up and get here so I can find out what happens asap!

~ arc review

after that brutal cliffie from book 2, this book delivers action and angst right on the first 2-4 chapters and give us answers as to what really happened with meyer (which was very much needed)

as a whole, this book gives us the development of old and “new” relationships, as well as great banter between the chatacters… it never lost sight of the bigger plot, which i appreciate it a lot

the relationship aspect was very important if not the center of the story for the moment… tho at times i felt it was a bit redundant with the push and pull between meyer and nox but overall i felt that all the guys had a good time/pages with her without getting it too much (tho i’d like more razar pls)

razar is MY MAN 💅🏼 and i’m also happy with how we got more of his POVs and way more interactions between him and meyer

the cliffie was not a huge one… but it has a lil punch which i like a lot cause i was surprised and yet not as surprised as i thought…

next book will probs give us more action/war scenes (which are done brilliantly) and strengthening the connection between meyer and her guys and i can’t wait!!

The book nicely trudged along with picking up from the cliffhanger in book 2. I would say, overall, there wasn't much progression in the storyline apart from the cliffhanger at the end. The romance part of the story was the highlight in this book for me. I do not enjoy instant love and this book hit all the right notes to not be that while still moving it along.

The cliffhanger was not too surprising since you pretty much guessed the person's involvement. The author does a good job of leaving it still unsure till the very end. I am curious to see if the next book will help clarify how everything came together without being too cliche.

The only parts of the story I struggled with was the FMC's age and her instant "family" connection with the two Rangers. Even with the explanation of how her kind "ages", she still seems immature in some parts and comes off as bratty. I also feel like she had to have the "family" connection with the two boys just to keep them relevant to the storyline. Their characters feel as an afterthought though and I would have been okay without them in the story.

Honestly good but sad

Okay—- this is strictly my RH ridden brain opinion. Also potential not so potential and completely straight up SPOILERS. So don’t read this review because I gotta rant.

You’ve been warned.

OKAY WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK??!? I wanted and thought he was gonna join the legion and her harem? Literally you made it seem like there was a base line attraction there and then BOOM hit us with that plot twist that it was him this whole time?

No. Nope. I refuse to believe this man cannot be redeemed and join the fun. I refuse to believe he isn’t just twisted up in his grief and it can’t be healed and join Myer and his bros. Seriously?!? You made me love him. Almost more than others just because he gave drama swoon good boy vibes and you have him kill THE MOM?!?

RANT OVER.

Seriously tho it’s a five star book. It kept me in bed reading all day because I was hooked. But also WTF.

Disappointed

The editing and writing quality took a serious down turn in this one. It's unfortunate because the first 2 in the series were so good. The spelling mistakes of her own character names and places alone is enough to drive a person crazy but then throw on the incredible overuse of the word "as", and it was difficult to even read the whole book. You can only say "a person is doing a thing AS another thing is happening AS even more somethings happen" so many times. It was similar to someone saying "like" unnecessarily every few sentences.

All of this would have been somewhat forgivable had the story actually gone any further, but this whole book should have just been 5 chapters of the next book. It was drawn out to a painful degree.

I am still holding out hope for the last book, as the story really did start off strong.

This third book in the Umbra Hunters series is everything I could have asked for. Meyer is finally coming into her own when it comes to her abilities and continues to stand her ground with her demon and dreamwalker men. I screamed when the progress finally happened in Meyer and Razar’ relationship! The spice was spicy and the scenes with Lennox especially deliver.

I love the way B.M. Clemton writes Meyers’s friendships with Theo and Jordan. I love the way these characters care about each other and the progression of Theo and Jordan’s romance. The story also has plenty of action to go along with the platonic and romantic relationships. There’s more insight into the big bad of the story and the threat they are facing. I enjoyed getting to see into Versipellis and meeting the MMCs parents. The four the book can’t come soon enough!

Every time I feel like I’ve lost the love for reading, this author ropes me back in. I absolutely love the characters and their adventures together. I think the progression of the story and the romance is at just the right pace for me. I’m someone who prefers for the plot and the smut to be balanced (sometimes authors can forget all about the story in favor of the smut in my opinion but this author hits the right threshold for me). I also feel like sometimes as each book comes out in the series the author can lose their way. But that’s not the case for this author either! I thoroughly enjoy each book as much as the first. This book ends on a cliffhanger and I am beyond excited for the next one!

We pick up right where we left off in book 2 so I highly recommend doing a reread before diving in to book 3 (A Surrender of Hope). Every book I’ve read in this series surpasses the previous one. I don’t know what I’m going to do when it’s over (I do, I will probably reread it every time I need a serotonin boost). The characters (all of them, even the side characters) and their banter are top tier. Razar continues to be my favorite and I would ABSOLUTELY pet him in his beastia form.

This book ends on another cliffhanger and it is a BIG one. The sweet torture of having to wait until February. I love the suspense of cliffhangers though and I know it’ll be well worth the wait.

4.5* The continuation of this series had me sucked in from the first page! I really loved that we got to see more from Razar’s POV. I don’t know why he’s my favorite because I don’t tend to go for the super broody, aggressive type, but I honestly love him. Especially the whole thing with him, Meyer, and Milo 😆 Meyer’s relationships continue to develop and Lennox was a bit redeemed in my eyes. I definitely called what we find out in the last chapter, BUT the entire book had me second guessing myself, which I prefer. I don’t like to be able to guess things too easily. Obviously read the first two books if you haven’t already, but then I definitely recommend picking this one up!

fantastic next installment

—__— that was my face at the end of this book. SWEET BABY JESUS I AM UNWELL WITH THAT CLIFFHANGER. The way I almost yeeted my iPad across the room. I thought the last cliffhanger was bad enough. I’m going to be praying to book gods that the last book in series graces my hands sooner rather than later. Meyer learns soooooo much more about herself in this book. Her relationship with the guys grows and is stronger than never…. Razar and Milo still steal the show. I will forever be obsessed with Raz and his tiny terror. Meyer is really coming into her own and I’m here for it. Absolutely a must read.

Band of brothers

Another exciting instalment in this non stop action packed story. We pick up exactly where we left the previous books cliffhanger as the legion work together to protect Meyer and fulfill their mission.
I love all, of the demon princess, the way Razr covets Milo, Meyers cat is hilarious.
Everyone is scared of him apart from Meyer who gives as good as she gets, his bestia form liking her.
There’s still a lot of mystery as to what’s happening tho we’re starting to learn more, especially about Archer. We end on another cliffhanger, can’t wait to find out what happens next in this thrilling story.

Well, I LOVED this book. Yet again, BM Clemton did it again.

Damn it, I hate the eldest brother so bad. He tricked my ass. I mean I really thought he had changed but NO. And the way he has control over Archer kills me.

Razar, THANK THE GODS I GOT HIM IN THIS BOOK MORE. I loved every part with him in it. He is my absolute favorite. I’m so glad that he has finally decided to claim Meyer.

Nox, Valen, and Creed: sexy, sexy, and more sexy. I loved them as well. I loved Noxs development with Meyer in this book as well.

Meyer is going to make an amazing Queen, but I still need her to get stronger. I need her to kick the oldest brothers ass or I might riot 😂

Once again BM Clemton can do no wrong! This one picked up right where we left off! We got to see the demon realm and find out more about the guys and their past and their reltionships not only with Meyer but with their families and each other. These guys are really starting to evolve and I love watching Meyer and them explore thier relationships as some of them( Raz I’m looking g at you ) start to really come out of thier shells. We got to explore the mating bonds a bit more and were treated to some super steamy scenes. We also found out more about Archer and about Meyer’s past. And the cliffhanger wow hang on to your seats cause now I’m dying for the next one!

I have never read a book with so much desperation for more, than I have with this book. The cliffhanger from book 2 was killing me. Was Meyer dead? Was Raz? Only for a twist of fate to intervene. Everything that happens in this book leaves me speechless. Valen going nuclear…speechless. Smexy times with Nox… speechless. Ray’s beastia falling for Meyer….speechless. That ending….. SPEECHLESS!!! Ma’am, how dare you? I quite prefer my heart in one piece not in the shatters you left it in. This series is one I constantly find myself coming back to, and I always devour it. This book is no different. Prepare for heartbreak and betrayal before it’s through.
