This would have been better had he not screwed the entire female population while she stayed completely celibate during their 3 year separation.
They’re dating in high school and he walks in on her getting sexually assaulted by his friend but he thinks she’s cheating on him so he dumps her the next day saying he doesn’t want to be with her and wants to hook up with other girls at his new school, withholding that he saw her with someone else. They meet again three years later brought together by her annoying ass bff which is his annoying ass sister and she gives in so damn easily!!! Please authors start making these MMCs work for it!! It’s so frustrating. The part that sucks is that I actually really liked Cal. He still wanted to be with her even thinking she cheated but she thought he left her to be with other girls and still let him hit it the first night she was there. Ughhh

This follows Skye and Callum. He is the best friend's brother and they started dating before he called it quits all of a sudden so Callum could attend college for his hockey career. Now it’s three years later and her best friend has managed to get them in the same house for the weekend. What could go wrong?
This was an enjoyable read. I find the FMC Skye for what she went through and still deals with strong. At first, when Callum and Skye are in the same room you can feel the hate between them which kept me engaged. This is also based on the miscommunication trope but it was done well. I loved how Callum was starting to unpick what happened in the past which opened his eyes to the truth.
I will say it felt repetitive a few times for some bits mentioned but other than that a great read!

I will tell you this, I don’t usually read Christmas “Snowed In” novellas because they are usually too sweet for me… but when I found out Brooklyn was writing one, I jumped for joy.
She always brings that twist of darkness with so much angst. And characters you can’t help but fall in love with or in Alex’s case - truly hate!
Callum and Skye burned up the pages and could have melted the snow! I loved their back and forth but loved their getting back together. This second chance was amazing. And I loved them.
I loved the tie in the The Wayward Academy, because I absolutely loved that book as well. (And can’t wait for Defiant Knight) and as far as characters go… I’m really hoping Tyler somehow comes back and also possibly gets his own book!
This is a must read for any Brooklyn fan… but also if you like your Christmas with a bit of smut, twisted darkness and a A LOT OF ANGST! This is for you

I’m sorry but did I read the same book as y’all?? ROMANTIC?? She was stuck in a cabin with her RAPIST and her toxic ex who was a POS and only started wanting to believe her after they started fucking again? And also in WHAT WORLD as a survivor would I be giggling or having fun in the same group of people as my fucking attacker. The ex was pathetic no connection no care no emotional ties. He just wanted to fuck her, a lot. He KNEW there was something shady about his friend and still stripped her in FRONT OF HIM. I’d give this 0/5 but it’s not allowed.

I don’t understand why in every second chance romance the guy goes and is with all these women and the girl stays celibate. It’s lazy storytelling really.

I loved this second chance Christmas romance! Don’t think it’s soft and mushy though…it is a Brooklyn Cross story! It’s got a bit of darkness to go with all the freaking heat!! Callum & Skye were high school sweethearts, broken up for three years, and still can’t keep their hands off each other! They have some issues to work through and trust to gain back. The journey these two take to get back to each other is angsty and dark, with a side of crazy! Watch out for the lurking psychos!

Woah, this was so good 😳 like from page one until the end I was hooked. It was so perfectly paced and executed, and I just couldn’t stop turning the pages. Novella’s, for me, can either be a hit or a miss… and this one was a fucking hit!! 🤩

What can I say. When I heard Brooklyn was releasing a Snowed in Hockey novella, you bet your money that I was going to read this! This is not a romcom. If you don’t know Brooklyn she always brings that twist of darkness to her books! So read the Trigger Warnings.
This book I couldn’t put down. The plot was good, the story was great! Cal and Skye high school sweethearts until they weren’t. They broke up and moved on with their life. That is until cal sister whose skyes best friend decides to play match maker, and get the two back together! This book is full of secrets, blackmail & truth finding. The characters I loved except for Alex. Talk about knowing who your true friends are! I loved that this is interconnected with the Wayward Academy. It brings me happiness. I’m ready for more of this series, and to read Tyler’s story!

The physical between these two was real but the emotional side, I wasn't so sure. The story idea however was first class.
My main gripe was that he needed to make up to her a lot more. Even if what he thought was true (which showed what a dodgy person he was) he still didn't care that she was drunk and put in a dreadful position. He didn't check on her or think about what kind of person she was.
Of course, he was off with other women constantly whilst she was not with anyone. I understand why but this constant trope gets boring.

4🌟 This was not what I was expecting from a Ice Hockey Christmas Romcom. This is definitely not a Romcom. It’s a heated, hated, second chance enemy to lovers, kind of tale, which I really enjoyed.
I loved crossover from the Wayward Academy story. I feel like the plot could’ve been a bit more crisp for me. It felt like there was a lot of repetitiveness in the first 50%, but then from 60% it really kicked off and I really started to enjoy it from there onwards.
In the end, it was sickly sweet at times, which I was really loving, very cute!
I would’ve liked to have seen more of the resolution play out with the villain character in this case. I think it’s just because I’m blood thirsty, really.
I’m excited to see this series of standalones evolve.

I adored this book from start to finished. I was hooked from page one. I loved Cal and Skye with my whole heart! Their chemistry was off the charts, and without saying too much, you are going to love their story!
My favourite side character was Tyler (I mean, we have the same name, duh). He was just so loveable from the moment we met him.
This storyline was deep, so be sure to check your triggers! Look after yourselves! ✨️
All in all, this book deserved every single bit of its 5-star review. I'm not really a sports romance reader, but this book blew all my expectations out the window.

I love everything Brooklyn writes. This book did not disappoint. This was about Cal and his girlfriend. They broke up in high school. He walked in on her and Alex at a party. He saw what he wanted to see even though that wasn’t the case. He left the next day for another school out of the country. 3 years went by without them seeing or speaking to each other after he told her that he needed a clean break to start over at school. This was at Christmas time and the girls were supposed to meet at the cabin but due to the storm she couldn’t. She didn’t tell either one that they would be at the cabin. He was there with a bunch of his friends including Alex. She saw him and turned around to leave but she couldn’t get out because of the snow. Can’t wait to read the next one.

Ahhh... what a sweet, snowed-in, holiday hockey romance. I loved Skye and Cal together, but the tension they had while apart was giving me zaps left and right. Brooklyn Cross did a great job of creating a harrowing tension between Skye and Alex throughout the story. It was great to see Cal grovel, though Skye definitely deserved more groveling from him, after everything she went through.
Seeing characters from her other books make an appearance makes me want to read those - some of guys at the cabin were friends that Cal met while he was at Wayward Academy. Another series to add to the list!

a lovely quick read!
i read this on a whim due to the title & blurb. i personally liked the story and the pacing. some might think its a bit on the fast side but it is also not a very long book. for a second chance story the two leads definitely had a moth & flame dynamic, the forced promitiy caused them to not really be able to avoid each other even when they tried. alex’s character was also terrifying in the way its hard to tell when he’s telling a truth or a lie due to how manipulative he is by nature, as well as him seeming to believe his version is truth no matter what. one thing i did wish we got, was a pov chapter for alex.

The banter and passion between Cal and Skye was electric. I loved that it was as steamy a read as it was sweet. I also really liked the slice of Canadiana that Brooklyn added to the tale.

Skye is going to meet her best friend at her cabin, but gets there and she sees Callum the love of her life who she hasn’t seen in three years. She wants to leave but is snowed. They ended badly but the chemistry is still there. Skye is keeping secrets and Callum wants to know, but she can’t tell him. Can they be together? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. I love Skye and Callum and their character development is amazing. This book has all the feels and twists and turns. Check your trigger warning and go grab this book.

Snowed In by Brooklyn Cross was a lighter (for me) quick read. Definitely a great book to read for an afternoon on a winter day. I do recommend checking your triggers though. The author does have them listed in the front of the book. I wasn’t sure what kind of hockey romance I was going into, either a romcom or dark hockey romance. It has a bit of both. The meddling best friend (who’s also the MMC’s sister) is fantastic and had me laughing. But there were part that are a little dark when you get the reasons why the FMC and MMC had broken up years before.

If you have ever wished a Hallmark movie had more spice and a touch of darkness this book is for you!!!
Cal and Skye are so sweet my teeth hurt reading about them. Then the spice!!! That bathroom scene!!! 🔥🔥 Of course it wouldn’t be a Brooklyn Cross book without a touch of darkness and let’s just say a certain someone gets what they deserve! I loved the tie in to Wayward Academy and can’t wait for the rest of this fun holiday series! Everyone needs friends like Tyler and Hayley!!!

I loved loved this book. Skye and Callum thank god it ended the way it did bc it was amazing and melted my heart and had me jumping for joy! Alex wow what a tool bag lol . This hockey romance was soo good , I could feel the love the chemistry these two exs had .
He has such amazing friends who had their backs from day one .
Callum sister did an amazing job hooking them back up! I loved it .

LOVE
Another five star read from Brooklyn. I truly enjoyed this. I honestly thought it was going to lead to an RH for a min but it’s a single love interest. Both of our main characters needing to go through some things. But you see how much they both genuinely still want one another. Highly recommend.

I loved this book! The suspense!! The mystery! The smut. Skye and Cal are so cute and love them!! Cal was possessive and a touch her and die!! Skye was sweet and wasn’t gonna take more crap!! I loved Tyler he was a sweetheart and loved that she had a male friend!! Different from other Christmas stories I’ve read! Which I loved. Can’t wait to read the other books
