This was soooo cute. I have truly missed the Bridgerton books :’)
This was great for someone who has never seen the show (aka me) but not sure if I would’ve recommended it to someone who has actually seen it. Due to me having been spoiled on TikTok I recognized a lot of scenes that were word for word which would have been a bit boring if it wasn’t almost new to me.
Overall it was a cute story with some spice and it was a great short read.
The strength and willingness to make George her person is truly something inspiring. It inspires you to believe that even the hidden monsters can be sought back to the surface. The love that both George and Charlotte have for each other and even though the thought about marriage at 17 should be abhorrent for people, Charlotte finds ways to carry herself gracefully as the new Queen of England and Ireland!

“She knew him, she realised. She knew the man he was inside and if some times that man was submerged under tortured waters she could help him rise to the surface. She would not leave his side. It is you and me she vowed. We can do this. Together.”
Emotional Watch. Emotional Read. so much love for this book 🤍
“You did not go over the wall. She smiled. No George, I did not go over the wall.”
I’m so happy to have finally read this book!!! It was definitely well worth the way and well worth it :-). I was a little surprised at the minuscule differences between the show and the book, however, I still have to say both were well worth it.
I love Queen Charlotte’s character as she is an epitome of ‘behind every man there’s a woman’. Her endless love and support for King George is admirable
Read as a break between the first and second bridgerton books to have a better understanding of the life of Queen Charlotte (not that I haven’t seen the show previous to reading this) and was left in pieces with the bittersweet ending. This book had a different vibe to the main Bridgerton books and it wasn’t necessarily bad, just different. Overall glad I read but wouldn’t reread :)
