Waylen Denver is a cabinet maker working from home - to his neighbor Vera's displeasure. She constantly yells at him for making noise too early in the mornings. Now that she's become guardian to Melody, her neice, she's extra feisty. It really isn't fair that Waylen adopts a cute puppy who Melody names Luke and becomes best friends with...

Waylen is the third and last Denver brother we get to know. He's the one that prefers to keep to himself and enjoy working with his hands. When his brothers Sebastian and Shea seem to get along better he feels left outside and decides to make an effort to spend more time with them. He also decides to try to be nicer to Vera, but that mostly has the opposite effect. Although, there's a fine line between love and hate...

This truly is an enemies-to-lovers romance! But it's also a description of a woman who recently lost her sister and gained custody of her daughter. Vera is terrified she will be a failure, but has a hard time admitting it, not used to talking about how she feels. Waylen eventually manages to get through to her, but I think that Luke had something to do with it as well! 😉

Vera + Melody + Waylen + a puppy named Luke = A family?

Vera's sister, Abby, betrayed her when she slept with Vera's husband, Michael. They divorced and eventually Abby and Michael married and had a daughter, Melody. It was love at first sight for Vera. Melody became the center of Vera's universe and her best friend. Good thing for Melody since Abby continued making bad choices, choosing drugs over her marriage and daughter. She knew she could always dump Melody with Vera. Then came the phone call on New Year's Eve... 

Vera became a mother after a car crash caused by a drunk driver caused the deaths of Abby and Michael. Melody is now safe but hurting. She hasn't spoken since the accident and Vera doesn't know how to help her. Waylen's new puppy seems to be the only thing easing Melody's pain.

Waylen Denver lives in the house next to Vera's. Only a small gated fence separates their properties. Her two best friends are dating his brothers. She likes the brothers, him not so much. He's aggravation personified with all the noises coming from his woodshop. However, he was the one to drive her to the hospital on New Year's Eve. And he had stayed there with her until she learned the status of Abby and Melody. She would have fallen apart if he hadn't been there by her side.

Waylen makes his living as a cabinet maker, so yes, his work can be noisy. But he tries not to be noisy when neighbors are sleeping or entertaining.

He was close to his brothers when they were young but that's no longer true. About the only time he sees them anymore is at family dinners. That's also the only time he sees his parents anymore, too. He really doesn't have friends either and he realizes that he is lonely. He decides to improve his life, so he makes a list of resolutions. First on the list is to be nice to Vera. That shouldn't be impossible, right?

I loved this story 'My Enemy's Resolution List' by Lynn Dare. I had read the first two books about the Denver brothers and was so happy to find this one about the third brother. Although, to my way of thinking, this is really about the three close girlfriends and the men they meet. They just happened to find that all three men were brothers. I love the characters and each one of their quirky personalities. This book is about Vera who becomes the guardian to her niece when Vera's sister and Vera's ex-husband are killed in an accident and their child becomes Vera's ward. Although Vera's ex-husband left her to marry her own sister, Vera loved her little niece right from the start and bonded quickly with her. The brother of her friends' boyfriends happens to live next door to Vera and is there to lend a hand when Vera loses her sister and suddenly finds herself a single parent. Vera has been hurt by her ex-husband's betrayal and has a hard time accepting Waylen's neighborly gestures of friendship. She presents herself as a feisty antagonist every time he has an interaction with her. But he is determined to make her see that he is not trying to be her enemy. After a while he wants to be something much more to her. He just needs to break through her barriers. He finds this difficult because he has always been a loner and has trouble connecting to people. I loved the book and found it easy to read and easy to love the characters.

Waylen and Vera!! Loved it so much! Their attraction is hot and the way they fight it just makes it stronger. I love that these two got together. Vera needed someone to love her for her. Waylen needed someone to put him in his place and not be afraid to speak their mind. When these two get together, it's magic and so hot. They can be themselves without having to pretend to be someone else.

Vera is a spitfire and I love that about her. She tries everything to be there for Melody without help. With some help from her neighbor and her friends, she learns that she gets help without having to ask.

Waylen is the oldest Denver brother that makes a resolution list and tries to not anger Vera much. But the anger just drives him closer to her and he loves it. When he decides to adopt a dog at Shea's shelter, he realizes that there is more to life than being single. He realizes that he is in need of rescuing himself.

This is a hot and steamy story that is also sweet at the same time. The last of the Denver Brothers book and it did not disappoint!.

Oh those Denver brothers! Each hot and sweet in their own way!!

In this story our main characters are Vera and Waylen. Vera's mom and Melody, her niece are living in the same house temporarily. Vera's mom is in town to help her with Melody after tragedy hit their little family. Melody hasn't spoken since the incident.

Vera is on the edge with her neighbor who insists on making noise first thing in the morning. She goes to his house every time he makes noise and chews him out. She absolutely hates him...or does she? Her best friends and co-workers are dating his brothers. They are not annoying like Waylen is.

Waylen lives near Vera and swears he can't do anything right be her. Any little noise he makes, she comes over and cusses him out. He decides to try to be nice to her, but that doesn't work either.

These two characters have all the chemistry and polar opposite of each other. I love how this burly man has such a soft side to him. Loved Melody and "Luke" together! Such a wonderful story with amazing characters! Love those Denver men! This series is one I'll definitely go back and read again, it was so good!

Finally Waylon found the one. Who
Would have thought it would be his outgoing, spicy, sassy neighbor.
Waylon is misunderstood. Everyone thought he was unapproachable, grumpy, and a loner. The opposite was true. He didn’t know how to connect with people. He was lonely. He wanted to have fun, be nicer and connect with his brothers.
Vera is damaged. She has always had an outgoing personality but this wax a facade. After her husband betrayed her and the accident she lost herself, who knew that the misunderstood grump and sweet puppy next door would be her HEA.
This book has it all, laughter, banter, friendship, hurt, hate sex, spice and finding home. Throw is a heartbroken little girl, meddling friends and family, mafia neighbors and a cute dog and you’ve got yourself a story.
Way is my favorite Denver. Do yourself a favor and read the entire series.

I enjoyed this book. While we already had a feel for Vera as a person, Waylen was a character who turned out to have so much more to him than had been explored in the previous books.

I enjoyed discovering all the hidden depths to his character and watching both he and Vera start to open up to the possibility of love.

Good to also see the relationship between brothers develop a bit further as well.

There was a brief moment there where I thought a fourth girl was being introduced into the friend mix as Vera kept including her assistant as another close friend but that did not appear to go anywhere (unless there is a spin off series I haven't found yet, or one coming).

Am I glad I read it - yes
Was it a waste of my time - no
Would I sit down and read it all over again - maybe
Would I read more by this author based on this book - yes.

My Enemy's Resolution List is book 3 in the Denver Brothers Series. It's an OTT, enemies-to-lovers, opposites-attract, and romantic comedy. I love these brothers and their girls so much but totally fell in love with Waylen. Vera is so feisty, sassy, and strong. Waylen is her hunky, burly neighbor who seems grumpy but is really just lonely. These two had insane chemistry but also so many laughs. Vera was just so mean to Waylen about noise, etc, and I felt like he just couldn't get it right although he wanted to. Throw in Melody, her niece and an adorable dog Luke, and eventually, we get the cutest family and HEA. Prepare to laugh and cry as well as enjoy a lot of steam. I just love this series so much.

Waylen and Vera are next door neighbors who constantly irritate each other - well, Waylen irritates Vera; Vera is yet another blip on Waylen's "people" radar. They avoid each other as much as possible, despite Waylen being the brother of her besties' boyfriends; but circumstances shift that force them to spend more time together.

This is the third in the Denver Brothers series, and a stand-alone (although if you enjoy this, I suggest going back and reading the first two). An open-door, spicy feast, it also has heart (in the form of an adorable little girl and a sweet dog); watching Vera and Waylen go from enemies to lust partners to lovers is a fun ride with a fulfilling end; I had a ball reading it!.

Vera Hart and Waylen Denver are neighbors, but they don’t get along. Regardless of the fact that Waylen is the brother of Vera’s best friend’s boyfriends; they just rub each other the wrong way. Or rather, Waylen does his job and it irritates Vera and then she goes into b!tch mode and verbally attacks him.

But one day, it blooms from a verbal assault, to a kiss. And then the next time it becomes something so much more.

I absolutely loved the push and pull of these two lovers. One damaged heart suffering from grief and forced responsibilities, and one lonely heart finding each other and slowly forming a true union after all the hate-sex.

There is a wonderful happy ending, and Melody (Vera’s niece) finds her voice again during the healing process of grief.

Easily read this in one night. I loved this series and the Denver Brothers.
Three best friends all fall for three brothers.
Vera is the last best friend to find love; unfortunately she thought she found it once but was betrayed by her sister. Now her sister is gone leaving behind her daughter Melody.
I loved reading about Melody throughout this series and honestly felt like this was a good way to end the series. Vera always felt more like Melody’s guardian to me than her own mother.
Waylen on the other hand was a mystery. He wasn’t close with his two brothers and we didn’t learn that much about him until this book.
I loved the enemies to lovers storyline with him doing things to soften Vera’s heart and bring her back to life. The dog was an extra cute bonus and perfect for Melody.

Vera and Waylen are neighbours and should be friends considering her best friend is dating his brother (small world) - but they’re NOT!
During one of their sparring matches they kiss and it grows from there 🥵.
We met these two and felt their magnetic chemistry at the end of (Hot Ex’s Santa List) and I so enjoyed the angsty banter and how they grew and healed each other’s hurts in this book.
Loving this series, Lynn Dare always delivers a fun, flirty, steamy, sweet, entertaining story and you’re always guaranteed a perfect HEA.

Vera has some interesting history that makes it hard for her to believe in love. Her husband cheated, then left Vera for her sister. Now Vera is the guardian for her niece after a car accident.
Waylen is grumpy, and is neighbors with Vera. They are always arguing, and seem to hate each other. That is until he kisses her to make her stop yelling at him.

There are times that Waylen does put his foot in his mouth, but he's just trying to help and be nice. A lot of the time, Vera just goes off on him. The story is good, just very angry heroine.

I absolutely loved Vera and Waylan together. From the previous books we know that there has been interaction between them two but who would have guessed they were neighbors who quickly become more that friends and more than neighbors. Secretly we all know from Kinsey and Eliana's books that they hope to hook Vera up with the last Denver brother, except that Vera and Waylan are like oil and water in the form of foreplay. Vera having to now raise her young niece provides fodder and opportunity for them to flirt. Cute, funny and heartfelt. I thoroughly enjoyed this,

This is book 3 in Dare's Denver Brothers series and is a wonderful addition to this series even though it can be read as a standalone. Main characters are Waylen and Vera who are neighbors and are seemingly opposites but with some steamy chemistry. Great sweet and steamy romance with these two having good character growth and a smooth flowing storyline that is captivating for all the right reasons!

I found this story to be heart breaking to it tore my heart into two. Vera finds herself a mother after the death of her sister and her ex/ brother-in-law, leaving their daughter in he care.

Waylen is Vera's neighbor and has not found a good ground with her, even though she is friends with his brother's other halves.

This was a good read and one that pulls you in from the start.

Vera's life changes dramatically when she's made guardian of her niece. As she struggles to learn to care for her the guy next door, Weylan has an annoying habit of being in her face. The pair fight, but their relationship soon changes. This book was a great way to end the series, and I can't wait for what's to come!.

My Enemy's Resolution List is the last book in the Denver Brothers series. I have to say it is my favorite! We finally get to see the teddy bear behind grumpy Waylon! And the story with Melody is absolute perfection! I can not say enough good things about this book!.

Denver Brothers

This was the last book in the series. You don’t have to read all three but you’ll want to start with the first book to hear more about about each of the brothers. Wylan was the one I wasn’t sure if I’d like his story but I have to say it was the best of the three books. There are some sad times but it goes with the story.

Loved this series.

This is both more heartwrenching and steamier than the other books in the series. But as with all of them, it leaves you with such warmth and joy. Don't pass up this fun series finale.
