Separated into three parts, I found the first weak, & the latter two, strong. I especially implore all Americans, or those American-adjacent to read Mr. Coulombe's Chapter 10, which shines light on the Loyalist movement in the American Rebellion, or as he labels it, "The First American Civil War."
Joseph Shaw's writing is also strong, as Chapters 12 & 14 as are some of my favourites as well. The prior connectig monarchy with tradition, both religious & secular, & across cultures. The latter, delving into the history of the sacredness of monarchy, again, across cultures.
The multitude of authors, & topics also allows this book to be digested in small segments.
