This novel contains depictions of sex, drugs, bad behavior, scandalous affairs, and all the downright messy things you love to read about.
After finishing her first year at Galanis College with a perfect grade point average, naïve Lylah is forced by her mischievous, infinitely more popular roommate, Maisie, to stop being a perfectly behaved do-gooder, for the night at least, and to indulge in the fun the rowdy Galanis College nightlife has to offer.
After one, horrible, humiliating, yet somehow perfect night, Lylah is swept up in Maisie’s aesthetic-addicted and morally twisted world.
And… It becomes her new, wildly more interesting, drama-filled reality.
Set in an elite Gossip Girl-esque society, centered in a John Green-styled coming-of-age romance, and packed with Euphoria-level risqué college-aged content, my debut novel, Hate That I Love You, is a chaotic, emotional rollercoaster making you question how far you are willing to go for love.
I admire the clearly teenaged author of this book for writing a novel- it’s a hard thing and they accomplished that. That is where the admiration ends, because rather than a book, this reads like the most long winded run-on text from your most insufferable self-victimizing friend. Character development does not exist to these vapid one dimensional characters, including the protagonist whomst you feel actual discomfort as you read how talented of a writer she perceives herself to be. Word to the wise, don’t share the heinous writing of your supposedly talented author narrator, leave us in suspense of her ability so your reader does not laugh out loud at the utter brain rot garbage she considers genius. I am upset I wasted time finishing this book, all in the hopes that (as advertised) there would be some scandal or suspense in regards to the death at the beginning of the book. The beginning middle and end was so unsatisfactory I felt compelled to make a goodreads to warn others.
This book is absolutely amazing! The story pulls you in from the first page and keeps you hooked with its relatable characters and captivating plot. I loved every minute of reading it and couldn't put it down. It’s the perfect blend of humor, heart, and adventure, making it an unforgettable read. The dynamic between the characters is so real and refreshing, and the message of stepping out of your comfort zone really resonated with me. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun book!
I loved the array of emotions and how there was never a single dull moment. Like, in most of the books I read, there are dry spots where the author is just filling up the page, but this book was nothing like that and things just kept happening. Most importantly, the characters just felt authentic. Like real people I’ve met. I can not recommend this book enough!
Fantastic! I was unfamiliar with this author but had the book recommended to me by multiple of my friends, so I had to check it out. It did not disappoint! Both the plot and characters where so beautifully imaged and carefully constructed, it didn’t take more than a few pages to hook me until the very end. I can not recommend this book (or anything else written by this author) enough!
This was my favorite book I have read this year. I am currently getting my masters and assigned a bunch of readings so I thought I would fall out of love with reading but this was the easiest read ever and so entertaining. I wish I could read this all over again without knowing what would happen next because it is so good. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Team Lylah
Found this yesterday just browsing around on my kindle and.. wowww. Such a good read! Highly recommend. So versatile and I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this author before. This one truly has potential to be a movie some day! I was hooked from page one, and I’m so sad I finished it. Yall check them out!
The.Toxicity with every single unlikeable ass character this book made me sick. How we used the word BFF friend forever in a toxic way where trust doesn’t lie both ways, it made me sad but also sick. But I couldn’t stop reading
This book was SO GOOD. Omg so entertaining I couldn’t put it down. I can’t tell if I love or hate Lylah. Also so curious about main character pov is she lying the whole time or being dramatic??? So good recommend
This book was incredible. Lylah honestly reminds me of one of my good friends so it was soothing and relatable reading this story. Such a good book. And the ending was crazy. Also the jet ski scene bye
This book was incredible. I’m literally obsessed I got butterflies. The author did an immaculate job at making the characters personable, while still keeping a professional tone throughout the book’s entirety. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.
Honestly, I have no clue who Wally Roxanne is and only bought it because I thought the cover was cute but this was the best book I have read in ages!! LOVED this book I read it in a day!!! 10/10

This is literally euphoria as a book. So entertaining so much drama so good. I am obsessed. I can’t tell if I hate maisie or if lylah is over exaggerating this whole story
This book perfectly sums up the crazy and toxic world that social media has perpetuated and how it affects relationships. With that being said- it was addicting and I couldn’t put it down!!
