Creative, engaging and personal, this book walks you step-by-step through the process of understanding and accepting a new autistic identity. Weaving together the personal lived experience and professional knowledge of neurodivergent author and creative career coach, Andrea Anderson, This is Who I Am provides you with the information, tools, and support to navigate your autistic discovery and reach a place of positivity and confidence.
With a focus on shared stories, belonging and finding community the activities and reflections in this book are perfect for anyone who is validating their autistic self-identification, considering getting a diagnosis, in the process of being diagnosed or who has been diagnosed recently.
I'm VERY intrigued if this is the same author who wrote "I healed my sons of autism and you can too...." because if so... I'm concerned.
I think the premise of this book was good and there were some good reflective activities. It sometimes felt a little prescriptive of this WILL be your experience, when the book appears only to be written abut one individuals experience. If you don't have access to therapy I think this could be beneficial but overall I found it very simplistic.
